1.Connecting to SYR
-------------------------------Ensure that you have an account at SYR. A quick way to
check this is to go to http://omega.eng.emc.com/omega/Default.asp
and then click on SYR icon, and see if you can log in. Generally,
your corp username and password will do for SYR Access also. The
username and password dialogs are case sensitive. If you are using
the corp domain name for example, enter it in lowercase.
Click on the CAP upload or download button. If you aren't alredy
logged in, a username/password dialog will be displayed. Enter the
your domain and username in the username field.
SYR allows access only when you connect to it from within the EMC
network.

2.Uploading
---------------------------------Any XML file you open or generate in CAP gets added to the upload
queue. The queue only contains the file locations, not the file
themselves. The queue allows upto 512 files or 256MB upload pending,
whichever occurs earlier. If CAP is unable to determine the serial
number of the array from the XML file , then that file is not added
to the upload queue.
Clicking on the SYR-Upload button bring up the upload queue list.
You will be prompted for login if you are not logged in.
Select the files you want to upload and click OK to upload.
If the files were uploaded successfully, then they will be removed
from the upload queue. In case an error occurs while uploading, then
the file would still be in the queue.
**File names remain the same while uploading or downloading.

3.Downloading
------------------------------------Select the SYR-download button.If you are not logged in
you will be prompted for login. If a report file is opened, then
the file listing for that file's array's serial number is displayed
by default.
Enter a serial number in the text field or select a serial number
from the list of previously opened serial numbers. All the files
uploaded for that serial number will be displayed. Select one of the
files to download. The downloads will go to SYR_Downloads directory
in the user's home directory. For Windows XP/NT/2000, this is
C:\Documents and settings\YourUserName

The downloaded file will be immediately opened in CAP.

Array Serial numbers get added to the previously opened list of
Download Dialog box in 2 ways:
1. Type or paste a serial number in the serial number field.
2. Open the download dialog box when a report is open.
The download dialog box stores upto 15 previously opened serial
numbers.
**Note that files are added to the upload queue irrespective of
whether you open the upload dialog or not after opening/generating
a file, but are added to previously opened serial numbers only
if you open the download dialog when that serial number's XML report
is currently open in CAP.
