MBA BANKING
Bank On It
BankOn-It is the annual banking conference hosted by MBA-
Banking Programme which endeavours to create a knowledge
interface between industry experts and academia, focused on
bringing out likely issues relevant to contemporary banking
industry.

The first edition of the event was held last year with the theme of
the conference being “Indian Banking: Resilience amidst Global
Financial Turbulence.” The event saw a host of luminaries from
the financial sector sharing their rich experiences and views on the
impact of financial meltdown on the Indian Banking System and
the robustness of our banking sector to stand up to such crisis,
providing valuable insights to the future banking professionals.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Atul Kumar Rai, CEO &
MD, IFCI. Mr. D. R. Dogra (Deputy MD - CARE Ratings), Mr. Vijay
Kumar Chandok (Global Head - ICICI Bank's SME Division), Mr.
Snehamoy Bhattacharya (President HR - Axis Bank), Mr.
Sethuraman A (Senior VP - HDFC Bank), Mr. Suresh Pai (Executive
VP - IndusInd Bank) were amongst the few dignitaries who graced
the occasion.

Financial Sector in general and banking sector in particular has
been playing a paramount role in meeting the complex economic
challenges in the recent years. The impact of the recent global
slowdown is an adequate indicator of the responsibilities banks
hold in shaping and reshaping the global economic scenario.
The MBA – Banking programme provides a coherent analytical
framework to develop the required skills and expertise needed to
manage finance, people and information in banking and
elsewhere in the financial sector as well as develop professionals
who can respond dynamically and successfully to the rapid
changes in the Economy, Customer Requirements, Regulations
and Technology to make smart decisions about the Operations
and Strategies in the global banking industry.
The programme has been formulated in a manner covering all
facets of operations in both Domestic as well as International
Banking. The course is rooted from the basics of the management

concepts and evolves to cover progressive subjects such as
International Banking and Finance, Treasury Operations, Risk
Management, Investment Banking, Project & Infrastructure
Finance amongst various others.
The rigor to the course is added through a comprehensive
learning methodology that includes a good blend of classroom
teaching and case study approach. Guest Lectures, Industry visits,
Industry oriented Academic and Corporate Projects, Regular
assignments, Quizzes and an exhaustive assessment approach
compliment this model. Supplemented with a large number of
student activities, the institute ensures an all round grooming of
students.
The program has been well received by the industry in spite of the
global slowdown. This only goes on to show the capability of the
students to meet the industry's expectations.
