Relevance of related literature and related studies to our topic.

Review of related literature and studies is very important because such reviewed
literature and studies serve as a foundation of the proposed study. This is because
related literature and studies guide the researcher in pursuing the thesis. The relevance
of related studies and related literature is for the two topics to be used as a material for
this thesis.

The relevance of these to our topic is to find literature telling us what societys
attitude is towards school uniforms. School districts with a school uniform policy in place
can be compared to districts with no dress/code or uniform policy. A person doesnt
need time to choose what to wear because uniforms are the policy of school not unlike
other schools it takes 30min or an hour for a student just to pick what outfit will match
his/her shoes, bag, accessories, etch.. The peer pressures of stylish dressing with the
best brands are alleviated, especially when students may not wear any uniform pieces
from name brand companies. It will take them thousands of money just to buy an outfit
for each day not like wearing school uniforms it allows students to focus more upon their
schoolwork, rather than social appearances.

Wearing school uniforms is an identical image in a school. They will be easily

recognized by the people around them. The hour that should be spent in choosing
clothes can be used in some other things that are more important.

School districts interested in positive changes in student success and achievement

may wish to consider a school uniform policy. School uniform literature and studies have
been linked to perceived and measured changes ranging from school climate to
violence.

Related studies research will authenticate the hypothesis that school uniforms have a
positive relationship with healthier school environments. Research will also suggest that
much of our adult society approves of school uniforms and appreciates the benefits
gleaned by the students. School uniforms may not help in the academic field but in
wearing school uniform a student is building up his/her discipline towards themselves by
following rules and regulations of the school.

School uniforms and dress codes have been examined, discussed, and debated in
schools, court rooms, and back yards for the last quarter century. Students may be
crossing the line established by educators and parents on what is appropriate clothing
for school. Behaviors that involve violence and/or gangs in schools have been the
topics of many studies. Normal clothes may help students to express themselves but
through uniform discipline will grow.
