Program Installation
DIgSILENT PowerFactory is an application for standard Windows operation systems. Both a 32-bit
and a 64-bit version are available. The 32-bit version is shipped via CD. If the 64-bit version is required,
please download the installation file from our Download Area on the DIgSILENT website
http://www.digsilent.de/index.php/downloads.html.
32-bit version: PF-15.2.1_x86.exe
Before installing PowerFactory , please remove all existing USB hardlocks. Insert the PowerFactory
15.2 CD into your CD drive. This will launch the DIgSILENT Software PreInstaller, which guides you
through the installation options. If the PreInstaller is not started automatically, run PreInstall.exe.

Installation Packages
PowerFactory - Demo: Installs a Demo Version of PowerFactory for evaluation and testing purposes. Requires activation via e-mail.
PowerFactory - Workstation: Installs PowerFactory and the local hardlock device drivers. Select this option if you own a PowerFactory single-user license. Then follow the instructions of the
Installation Setup Wizard. For further information on the PowerFactory single-user installation
please refer to the PowerFactory Installation Manual.
PowerFactory - Server: Installs PowerFactory and/or the network license server which provides
license information for all DIgSILENT PowerFactory clients that are part of a computer network.
Select this option if you own a PowerFactory multi-user license.
In the next step select the required drivers/programs depending on whether the installation is for a
server or for a client computer. Afterwards press Start Installation. Then follow the instructions of the
Installation Setup Wizard.
For further information on the PowerFactory multi-user installation please refer to the PowerFactory
Installation Manual.
Hardlock Device Drivers: Please install hardlock drivers before plugging in hardlock.
PowerFactory : Installs PowerFactory 15.2.
Network License Server: Installs the network license server.

Administrator Rights for Installation Required
You must have administrator rights to install PowerFactory , the License Server, or the hardlock drivers.
Without administrator rights the PowerFactory Setup will fail.
1.3
License Activation
DIgSILENT PowerFactory licenses are activated automatically.

In cases when:
A new license was delivered
An outdated guarantee was substituted by a maintenance contract
An outdated maintenance contract was resumed
It is necessary to merge the most recent activation file to both the installation directories of DIgSILENT
PowerFactory and the License Server. For more information please refer to Section License Activation
of the PowerFactory Installation Manual.
Documentation
A detailed Installation Manual is available in the DIgSILENT Software PreInstaller. Please start the
PreInstaller as described above and click on the relevant link at the bottom of the PreInstaller to view
the Installation Manual. For registers users the Installation Manual is also available for download on the
DIgSILENT website: http://www.digsilent.de/index.php/downloads.html.
All documentation for the tutorial, program handling and power system modelling, as well as information
related to the database structure is included in the PowerFactory Tutorial and Users Manual (including
detailed descriptions of each model as Technical Reference Notes) of the online help. Instructions for
using the online help can be found in Chapter Documentation and Help System, Section: Getting Help
of the Users Manual.
Examples
The window PowerFactory Examples provides a list of application examples of PowerFactory calculation functions. Every example comes with an explaining document which can be opened by pressing
the corresponding document button. Additional videos are available for demonstrating the software handling and its functionalities.
The PowerFactory Examples window will pop up automatically every time the software is open, this
could be deactivated by unchecking the Show at Startup checkbox. PowerFactory Examples are also
accessible on the main menu, by selecting File Examples. . . .
The respective calculation results can be found in the graphic window as well as in the output window
located in the lower part of the workspace. The corresponding system stages can be activated via the
data manager. Further examples are available for download under our FAQ section on the DIgSILENT
website: http://www.digsilent.de/index.php/downloads.html.
Recommended System Requirements
DIgSILENT PowerFactory is an application for standard Windows operation systems. Both a 32-bit
and a 64-bit version are available. For running PowerFactory 15 efficiently the computer should be
equipped with, as a minimum:

Programm Installation
DIgSILENT PowerFactory ist eine Anwendung fr Standard-Windows -Betriebssysteme. Es ist sowohl

eine 32-bit-, als auch eine 64-bit-Version verfgbar. Die 32-bit-Version wird auf CD ausgeliefert. Wenn
Sie die 64-bit-Version bentigen, knnen Sie die Installations-Datei aus dem Download-Bereich der

Bitte entfernen Sie alle USB-Kopierschutzstecker bevor Sie PowerFactory installieren. Legen Sie die
PowerFactory 15.2-CD in Ihr CD-Laufwerk ein. Dies ffnet automatisch den DIgSILENT Software
PreInstaller, der Sie bei der Installation untersttzt. Falls der PreInstaller nicht automatisch gestartet
wird, starten Sie bitte PreInstall.exe.

Whlen Sie diese Option, wenn Sie eine Mehr-Benutzer-Lizenz von PowerFactory besitzen.

Installation bentigt Administrator-Rechte
Sie ben tigen Administrator-Rechte, um PowerFactory , das Netzwerklizenzprogramm oder die HardlockGertetreiber zu installieren. Ohne Administrator-Rechte bricht der PowerFactory Setup-Vorgang mit

einer Fehlermeldung ab.

Lizenz-Aktivierung
DIgSILENT PowerFactory -Lizenzen werden automatisch aktiviert.

In Fllen, in denen:
eine neue Lizenz zugeschickt wurde,
eine abgelaufene Garantie durch einen Wartungsvertrag ersetzt wurde,
ein ausgelaufener Wartungsvertrag wieder aufgenommen wurde,
ist es notwendig die neuste Aktivierungsdatei jeweils in dem Installationsverzeichnis von DIgSILENT
PowerFactory und vom Lizenz-Server-Programm aufzunehmen. Weitere Informationen knnen Sie
dem Installation Manual entnehmen.
Dokumentation
Ein ausfhrliches Installations-Handbuch ist im DIgSILENT Software PreInstaller verfgbar. Bitte starten
Sie den PreInstaller wie oben beschrieben und klicken Sie auf den Eintrag Installation Manual im unteren Bereichs des PreInstaller-Fensters, um das Installations-Handbuch einzusehen. Das InstallationsHandbuch steht fr registrierte Anwender auch auf der DIgSILENT -Homepage zum Download bereit:

Eine Einfhrung in das Programm anhand von praktischen bungen (Tutorial) und das Handbuch mit
Bedienungs-anleitung, Beschreibungen der verwendeten Modelle sowie auch Informationen zur Datenbankstruktur sind in der PowerFactory Online-Hilfe als Tutorial und Benutzerhandbuch enthalten. Beispiele
Das Fenster PowerFactory Beispiele bietet eine Liste von Anwendungsbeispielen von PowerFactory
Berechnungsfunktionen an. Jedes Beispiel enthlt ein Dokument, welches durch das Auswhlen des
Dokumentknopfes geffnet werden kann. Zustzliche Viodes sind verfgbar, um das Benutzen der
Software und seine Funktionalitten zu demonstrieren.

Das PowerFactory Beipsielefenster ffnet sich automatisch beim Starten der Software, dies kann ber
das Abwhlen der Option Beim Start anzeigen deaktiviert werden. PowerFactory Beispiele sind ferner
ber die Hauptmenleiste ber Datei Beispiele. . . zu erreichen.
Die entsprechenden Ergebnisse sind sowohl im Grafikfenster als auch im Ausgabefenster im unteren

Programme dinstallation du logiciel
PowerFactory de DIgSILENT est une application pour les systmes dexploitation standard Windows .
A la fois une version 32 bits et une version 64 bits sont disponibles. La version 32 bits est expdie
sous la forme dun CD. Si vous avez besoin de la version 64 bits, vous pouvez tlcharger le fichier
dinstallation depuis le Portail Download http://www.digsilent.de/index.php/downloads.
html sur le site Web DIgSILENT .
Avant de procder linstallation de PowerFactory , retirez toutes les cls USB connectes. Insrez le
CD de PowerFactory 15.2 dans votre lecteur. Le logiciel DIgSILENT Software PreInstaller se lancera
et vous guidera travers les options dinstallation. Si le PreInstaller ne dmarre pas automatiquement,
lancez PreInstall.exe.

rseau informatique. Slectionnez cette option si vous possdez une licence multi-utilisateurs
PowerFactory .
Dans ltape suivante, slectionnez les pilotes/logiciels requis si linstallation est pour un serveur ou
un ordinateur client. Cliquez ensuite sur Start Installation. Suivez les instructions de lassistant
dinstallation. Pour de plus amples informations sur linstallation de PowerFactory en mode multiutilisateurs, rfrez-vous au Manuel dInstallation de PowerFactory .
Pilotes des cls de protection : installez les pilotes avant de connecter la cl USB.
PowerFactory : Installez le logiciel PowerFactory 15.2.
Serveur de licences rseau : installe le serveur de licences rseau.

Droits dadministrateur requis pour linstallation
Pour installer PowerFactory , le Serveur de licences ou les pilotes des cls USB, vous devez disposer
des droits dadministrateur. Sans ces droits, le programme dinstallation dePowerFactory chouera.

Activation de la licence
Les licences DIgSILENT PowerFactory sont actives automatiquement dans les cas suivants :
Une nouvelle licence vous est livre
Une garantie dpasse est substitue par un contrat de maintenance
Un contrat de maintenance chu est repris
Il est ncessaire de fusionner le fichier dactivation le plus rcent avec la fois les rpertoires dinstallation

Un Manuel dInstallation dtaill est disponible dans DIgSILENT Software PreInstaller. Dmarrez le

La fentre des exemplesPowerFactory apparat automatiquement chaque dmarrage du logiciel ; cet
automatisme peut tre dsactiv en dcochant la case Afficher au dmarrage. Les exemples PowerFactory sont aussi accessibles sur le menu principal en slectionnant Fichier Exemples. . . .

Les rsultats des calculs correspondants peuvent tre trouvs dans la fentre graphique ainsi que
dans la fentre de sortie situe dans la partie infrieure de lespace de travail. Diffrentes options

Configurations logicielle et matrielle recommandes
PowerFactory de DIgSILENT est une application pour les systmes dexploitation Windows standard.
A la fois une version 32 bits et une version 64 bits sont disponibles. Pour exploiter PowerFactory v. 15
efficacement lordinateur devrait tre configur au minimum comme indiqu ci-dessous :

Instalacin del Programa
DIgSILENT PowerFactory es una aplicacin para sistemas operativos Windows estndar. Versiones
a 32-bit y 64-bit estn disponibles. La versin de 32-bit es enviada va CD. Si requiere la versin de
64-bit, por favor descargue el archivo de instalacin desde el portal de descargas en la pgina web de
DIgSILENThttp://www.digsilent.de/index.php/downloads.html.

Antes de instalar PowerFactory , retire todas las llaves USB conectadas. Introduzca el CD de PowerFactory 15.2 en el dispositivo lector. A continuacin se ejecutar la aplicacin DIgSILENT Software

PowerFactory - Workstation: Instala el programa PowerFactory y los controladores de la llave

USB. Seleccione esta opcin si posee una licencia de usuario nico de PowerFactory . A continuacin, siga las instrucciones del asistente de instalacin. Para mayor informacin acerca de la
instalacion de usuario nico, refirase al Manual de Instalacin.
PowerFactory - Server: Instala el programa PowerFactory y/o el programa adicional Servidor
de Licencias en Red que proporciona informacin a todos los clientes DIgSILENT PowerFactory
conectados en red. Seleccione esta opcin si posee una licencia multi-usuario de PowerFactory
.
A continuacin, seleccione los controladores de la llave USB o programas necesarios dependiendo de
si la instalacin es para un servidor o cliente. Una vez realizada la seleccin, pulse Start Installation y
siga las instrucciones del asistente de instalacin.

Hardlock Device Drivers: Instala los archivos de configuracin. Ejecute esta opcin antes de
conectar la llave al puerto USB.
PowerFactory : Instala PowerFactory 15.2.
Network License Server: Instala el servidor de Licencias en Red.

Derechos de Administrador para la Instalacin
Para instalar PowerFactory , el Servidor de Licencias, o los controladores de la llave USB, debe tener
derechos de administrador sobre el sistema. En caso contrario, la instalacin de PowerFactory no se
llevar a cabo correctamente.
1.3
Activacin de Licencias
Las licencias DIgSILENT PowerFactory son activadas automticamente.

En casos donde:
Una nueva licencia fue entregada
Una garanta caducada fue sustituida por un contrato de mantenimiento
Un contrato de mantenimiento caducado fue renovado
Es necesario fusionar el ltimo archivo de activacin con los directorios de instalacin de DIgSILENT
PowerFactory y el servidor de licencias. Para ms informacin consultar la seccin License Activation"
del Manual de Instalacin de PowerFactory.

El Manual de Instalacin (Installation Manual) detallado est disponible en el DIgSILENT Software PreInstaller. Arranque el PreInstaller como se indica anteriormente y haga clic en el link correspondiente en la parte inferior del Preinstaller para acceder al Manual de Instalacin. El Manual de Instalacin est disponible para su descarga en el portal de descargas en la pgina web de DIgSILENT :
Toda la documentacin adicional para el Tutorial, manejo del programa y modelado de sistemas de

Ejemplos
La ventana "PowerFactory Examples" proporciona una lista de ejemplos de aplicacin de funciones en

PowerFactory . Cada ejemplo viene con un documento explicativo, que puede visualizarse pulsando
el botn correspondiente. Adicionalmente, estn disponibles vdeos demostrativos del manejo del software y sus funcionalidades.
La ventana "PowerFactory Examples" se abrir automticamente cada vez que se inicie el programa.
Esta funcin puede ser desactivada desmarcando la casilla Show at Startup. Tambin es posible acceder a los ejemplos de PowerFactory a travs del men principal, seleccionando File Examples. . . .
Los resultados de las simulaciones se pueden visualizar tanto en la ventana grfica, como en la ventana
de salida localizada en la parte inferior del espacio de trabajo. A travs de la ventana "PowerFactory
Overview" se pueden activar los escenarios del sistema y/o casos de estudio correspondientes. Mas
