Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Cristina-Nicoleta Ni and I am student at the faculty of
Cybernetics, Statistics and Computer Science from Bucharest University of
Economic Studies. I am writing this letter to express my intention to attend the
Erasmus program, an opportunity that offers students the chance to experience
different cultures, interact with people around the world and develop their skills.
The possibility to study for a semester at a university in another European country
represents not only a great academic achievement and personal development by
acquiring knowledge and experience in Economics and Informatics, but also a
chance for my future professional career.
I would honor the possibility if you accept me for the Erasmus program. I
apply for a semester grant in the English-spoken area, more exactly at Porto
University in Portugal. I consider Porto University is the most suitable option for
me because the syllabus is related to the subjects I study in Romania and the
semester experience comes to offer me the opportunity to put the theory into
practice and achieve the required competencies necessary on the labor market.
What recommends me for this grant is my dedication and involvement in
voluntary activities as I mentioned in my Personal Statement and my Curriculum
Vitae, my ambition to acquire new knowledge relevant to my future

qualification, that can provide me the chance to progress and become as

good as possible in the career I will choose. Besides my determination and
desire to learn, I am an energetic, ambitious and responsible person who
wants to achieve performance in every activity she does(as evident from my
academic results).
I think that studying one semester abroad will allow me to enrich my
knowledge about technical aspects and also cultural ones. Living in a
multicultural environment, I will develop my communication skills, I will

have to be more adaptable and in this manner, in the perspective of working

in a company, I will be able to analyze things from a neutral perspective and
manage possible conflicts better.
Moreover, by spending 5 months abroad I will have the opportunity to
analyze how Informatics and Economics is implemented in other universities and
countries. Also, I will gain a more accurate perspective upon strengths and
weaknesses of Informatics Systems and their application in everyday life. Aici

In conclusion, I hope I have exposed clearly my objectives and motivation

and they prove I am an eligible candidate for the grant specified above.
