-Even before America was colonized, commerce and trade was growing
in the Old World where various methods of promoting trade were used.
These were early methods of advertising, where the basic method of
body copy was posters. These posters were mostly hands made. The
idea of commerce is antique but it represented the very essence of
exchange relationships and getting people to trade and buy from each
other. This notion of promoting goods is not as modern as most would
like to think. Once planted, advertising thrived in the United States to
compete with other developed countries. The history of advertising
technique chronicles the movement from face-to-face selling messages
to the stilted, repetitive, printed advertisements of early newspapers to
the dynamism of mass communication by radio and television to the
re-personalized of messages via cable, Internet, and direct mail. This
demonstrates the growth of advertisement and how much power it can
have other lives of people and the things we see. This vast system of
modern communication holds some of the most important knowledge
to sale.

-With that being said, in a long chronicle view of one product in
its vast change throughout time would be the Coca-Cola brand.
The promotion of products and to be more specific, of brands in a
national scale, became to be popular during the early 1900s.
Coca-Cola as whole began back in the 1800s. John Pemberton
sold his first Coca- Cola drink at a soda fountain in Jacobs
Pharmacy and published the first Coca-Cola advertisement in the
Atlanta Journal. The ad consisted of simple text, all in blank and
white. There is no form of creativity, color, or movement in the
first ad at all. Just plain text. The only form of captivating

advertising skill is the all caps tagline: Delicious! Refreshing!

Exhilarating! Invigorating! As time has gone by, and more has
been made with technological advancements, compared to this
simple ad on a newspaper, modern Coca-Cola ads have
modernized the entire world. Coca-cola began to target specific
audiences and created a homely ambiance with their ad of Santa
Claus and winter Polar Bear. Theyve created a brand that is
run all over televisions ads, internet ads, magazine ads, and ads
that run world wide. Two centuries ago in 1886, Coca-Cola was
first created in a tiny pharmacy.
