Hired as Director for Home Care Unlimited a small home health agency
developed to provide nursing services to The Kensington prior to
obtaining licensure. I assisted in obtaining assisted living licensure by
developing the needed nursing policy/procedures. Once licensure was
obtained Home Care Unlimited was closed and I became The
Kensington’s Director of Nursing and charge nurse for daily resident
health needs, admissions, and care plans. I did hiring of staff in the
nursing department, staff scheduling, on-call nurse, training and
providing 40 hour Medication class and certification for CPR.

I worked as a Hospice Nurse with the terminally ill patients in their

home or nursing home setting. We covered a four county area around
Hastings providing medical, emotional, and spiritual support for patients and
families. I assisted the director in Compliance for Medicare certification,
worked on Q.I., policies, and standards of care. I assisted with conferences
and memorial services.

1987 to 1995

Oncology staff nurse at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Providing

hands on patient care of cancer patients. Giving chemotherapy, blood, and
other related procedures. Involved in policy/procedure committee
and Q. I. Prior to this I worked 8 months on the med -surgical unit and float to
other units.

During this time I worked part time at Good Samaritan Village Perkins as
charge nurse nights/evenings.
