It is our policy to offer full support, and service to our
customers, and at the same time represent our suppliers
professionally and fairly. Investigating a claim can
be an unnecessarily prolonged process if the correct
procedures are not followed. For this reason we need to
clearly specify the ground rules for complaint handling.
NOTIFICATION
When a customer encounters a problem with product supplied by
Spicers, they should immediately contact their representative or
local Spicers branch to communicate the problem and to determine
what action is necessary. It is important that a decision to stop or
continue using the product involved, is discussed and agreed upon
in conjunction with Spicers personnel. If the customer decides to
continue using the product after the problem is detected without
consulting with a Spicers representative, the sole responsibility
for the finished product and any related costs rest with them,
and Spicers will not be liable for any costs incurred.
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY PROPER APPLICATION
Spicers sales personnel are always willing to assist and offer advice
regarding a particular product for a particular job. However, after
evaluating all alternatives it is the customer and the customers
end users responsibility to select the appropriate product for the
desired application.
Paper handling
STORAGE
Avoid dampness and temperature extremes. Keep paper ream in
the wrapper until ready to be used/added to the copier. Keep the
reams in the carton until required, replace the lid of the carton.
TEMPERATURE
Allow ream to acclimatise to room temperature. Acclimatisation
is the process of adjusting or getting used to changes in the
immediate environment. Acclimatisation will be required if there
is a temperature difference between where your paper is being
stored and where it is being used.

TROUBLESHOOTING
The paper wont feed
The paper may be too thick or too thin for a tray
try using the bypass tray.
The paper may be a high gloss sheet which the
printer cannot pick-up.
The pick-up rollers need servicing.
There is a paper jam obstructing the paper path.
The sheets may be stuck together try fanning
the paper before use.
Paper tray may be overloaded or operator has
selected an empty tray.
Multiple sheets feeding
May be a pre-printed job, the ink is still wet.
Sheets may be stuck together from static
try fanning the paper before use.
If the paper is stored next to a window, move it
to a cool and moisture-free location.
OPENING WRAPPER
Open wrapper end first, then partially open facing seam.
When opening, make sure you open the paper at the seam,
and load paper so that the under-side of the paper
is printed first.
PRINT SIDE
Always print on the under-side first. Use a whole ream
in printer where possible.
Paper is creasing or curling

Paper may be damp.
Ensure paper is stored, and properly conditioned to environment.
Ensure the correct side of the sheet is being
printed turn paper in tray over, use a new/ unopened ream.
Feed or fuser rollers may not be set correctly on the machine.
If the edges of the sheet are wavy, use paper from a new ream.
Printing onto a pre-printed sheet which is still wet
from the printing process.
Paper weight may be too light.
