I want to thank everyone that came to the meeting in January. We had a lot to do and most of it got
done.
The survey on the acceptance of modified cars in the passport program was very lively .
We need more ideas on where to go on our spring tour and when we want to have it. So please be
thinking about it. We had some interest in going on the central meet in July at Nashville In. Those that
want to go need to decide by the February meeting as we will need to make reservations ASAP.
I want to thank Linda Shubert for stepping up to be sectary.
The calendar sales are going well. We have sold 80 and our ad just hit the G&D in the February issue.
Keep up the good work. If you have not paid for the calendars that you took please do so ASAP we
need to keep the printer paid.
Hope to see you all on February 20th in Mount Vernon at Ryan’s

The SOIL Region of the VCCA met at Ryans in Mt. Vernon, IL. at noon on January 16, 2010.
Members ate while they visited and the meeting was called to order at 12:35 pm by director Bill
Shubert. Fourteen members were present with one guest.
The minutes of the December meeting were read. Motion to accept the minutes as read was made by
Dick Walker and seconded by Sonny Moyers. Motion was carried. Committee reports were made.
The treasurer went over last month’s activities. Calendars were passed out to those wanting to sell
them. Dick, the events chairman, talked of a “cruise in” at the Illinois Center Mall In Marion was
currently happening. February 14th there will be two swap meets in our area. One is in Springfield and
the other one is in Pinckneyville.
Old business was discussed. The club discussed and filled out the survey that Dave Miner sent on
allowing modifies being in the tour passports. Linda Shubert volunteered to be secretary; no one
opposed. Answers to the trivia questions in the January newsletter were given. Lana Logsdon won the
traveling trophy.
The 2010 Central Meet, our 2nd annual spring tour, and fund raising ideas were the new business on the
agenda. Bill talked of the Central Meet this year being in Nashville, In. on July 18th – July 21. Since it
is so close he would like to see several of the members attend. More of this event will be discussed in
the upcoming meetings. Also information on the Central Meet will be in the newsletters. Ideas for the
spring tour were thrown out. They were: go to Gateway Classic Cars for a picnic and tour in East St.
Louis, go to Giant City Lodge in Makanda, or do a tour around the Alton area. These ideas will be
discussed in future meetings. Hosting a swap meet was a suggestion for another fund raiser. Anyone
with more ideas for these events and other events should bring them to the next meeting.
There were no announcements. The next meeting will be held at Ryans in Mt. Vernon at noon on
Saturday, February 20th. The March meeting on the 20th will also be at Ryans.
Motion to adjourn was made by Sonny and seconded by Mike Logsdon. Motion was carried; we
