(EPOS)
Postgraduate courses for professionals from developing countries at
German institutions of Higher education
Duration: 12-24 months (36 months for doctoral), dependent on
study programme
Includes German Universities and Fachhochschulen (Universities
of Applied Science)
Support of selected programmes with a variety of full or partial
scholarships
Funded by the BMZ - Bundesministerium fr wirtschaftliche
Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (Federal Ministry for Economic
Cooperation and Development)
Academic year 2016/2017

Who can apply?
Graduates with at least two years' professional experience.
The last academic degree (Bachelor's degree) should have been
completed no longer than six years previously
Value
Depending on academic level, monthly payments of 750 euros for
graduates or 1,000 euros for doctoral candidates
Payments towards health, accident and personal liability
insurance cover
Travel allowance, unless these expenses are covered by the
home country or another source of funding
Application deadline
Depending on chosen study programme; please check scholarship
brochure or the website of your chosen study programme.

Selection Criteria
o Candidates fulfil the necessary academic requirements and can
be expected to successfully complete a study programme in
Germany (above-average result for first academic exam top
performance third, language skills)
o Candidates have a Bachelor degree (usually a four-year course)
in an appropriate subject
o Candidates have at least two years' professional experience
o Candidates can prove their motivation is development-related
and be expected to take on social responsibility and initiate and
support processes of change in their personal and professional
environment after their course/scholarship

professional letter/s of recommendation from your employer; the letter must have a
signature and office stamp and must be of recent date (not in a sealed envelope)
confirmation of employment from the employer in your home country and if possible,
a guarantee of re-employment upon your return home
Proof of language abilities:
- English IELTS or TOEFL (Note: Institutional TOEFL will not be accepted)
- German necessary for the courses taught in German; for the courses taught in
English, if available
certified copies of awarded academic degrees (Indonesian and English version)
certified copies of academic transcripts (Indonesian and English version)
certified copy of School Leaving Certificate (Indonesian and German version)

Note:
Some courses may require additional documents. For detailed information,
please see the relevant course description on the booklet. All documents
must be submitted as identical duplicates. Applications that do not clearly
state the desired degree course or are not complete, cannot be processed
and will not be considered.
If applying to more than one course, please list courses in order of priority.
You must send the complete set of application documents for each course
applied to (as identical duplicates).
Selection Process:
The selection process generally takes place at the universities in the
period from October to February. During those times it is possible for
some applicants to be contacted by the university to conduct a telephone
interview.
Scholarships are usually awarded for the following winter semester. Only
those who are granted the scholarship will be notified via E-mail by the
DAAD headquarter.
