MMI 3G Asia MAP Installation and Activation

Covering Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore

Step Instructions
1.
Switch on the MMI 3G.
2.
Enter the green menu (First press Setup and then CAR and hold both buttons down
simultaneously for approx. five seconds until the display changes.)

Green Menu should come up

Go to Nav database update

And Press on Delete Nav HDD partition

Please wait until you see the completion message below:

Once partition is deleted, please reboot MMI using the following key combination:

MMI reboots and Navigation shows this message:

Enter the green menu again (First press Setup and then CAR and hold both buttons down
simultaneously for approx. five seconds until the display changes.)

Go to Nav databaseupdate
And Change your Active HDD Nab DB to the Asia.

5 - South America
6 - AGCC
7 - Korea
8 - Japan
9 - China
10 - Asia Pacific
11 - South Africa
12 Australia & New
Zealand
13 India
14 Turkey

Go to SWDL and ticket the box that says ignore region and variant

Quit the green menu by pressing Navigation button on the key board.

Insert the MAP SD card you have purchased into the MMI slot SD 1.
First press Setup and then Return and hold both buttons down simultaneously for approx.
five seconds until the display changes.

Note only: You can quit the software download process at any time by simultaneously
pressing and holding the Tone and Back buttons for more than five seconds.
Press Update (this is the bottom right hand corner button in the MMIs key board
Choose SD 1

Please wait until reading is done.

Choose ROW 5.5.6 (MMI 3G)

Waiting until reading Metainfo is finished (it does take long time)
Choose Standard

NOTE: Ensure that there is no voltage changes of the vehicle's battery, i.e. don't Switch off and on
anything, Don't open and close doors or windows etc... Diagnostic tests using the tester/other
operations may not be performed in parallel. Switch off all unnecessary electrical equipment
(auto/daytime running lights, air-conditioning etc.) in the vehicle and leave it switched off
throughout the update.

Scroll down and Press Start download

Press Start and then please wait... Once the system has rebooted, the download application
may show a screen that displays the update progress of various devices. As soon as all
devices have registered with the download application, the update process is activated and
the progress is shown on screen. The system may reboot many times during the update and
programming session. This is carried out completely automatically and does not require you
to take any action. Once the system has rebooted, updating is continued and the "Download
progress" screen is displayed many times.

Device Summary is displayed in the subsequent overview screen.

Scroll down and select "Continue".

Once MMI is rebooted for the final time, the maps are installed successfully but your map
require activation, you see this message:

First press Setup and then Return and hold both buttons down simultaneously for approx.
five seconds until the display changes.

Insert the Map Activation SD you have purchased into slot SD 1 of the MMI unit
Press Update (Bottom right hand corner button)
Choose SD 1

Wait until reading is done.

Choose MMI_34_D3_3

Scroll down and Press Start download and then Start

The unit will rebooted few times and then Device Summary screen is showing FSC as OK

Once MMI is rebooted youre now ready to use your Maps.
