Forwhateverreason,IhaveafascinationwithinworldStarWars
languages.Ivespentcountlesshourssearchingtheinternetfordifferent
languages,namelyforthewrittenalphabets.WhatIvefoundisthat,even
forthelanguagesthatexist,itsextremelyhardtofindchartsorfontsfor
thewrittenlanguages.Aurebeshisobviouslyeasytofind,buttheothers,
notsomuch.
Becauseitssohardtofindcharts,Idecidedtomakemyown.Ittookfar
longerthanIexpecteditto,butImfinallydone.
Ivemanagedtofind16languages.Illpostthefirst8(inalphabetical
order)inthispostandthelast8inanotherpost.
IvealsogatheredtogetheralltheStarWarsfontsIvefound,includingthe
fontsforeachofthealphabetsabove(exceptforGeonosian
andKittt,whichdonthavefonts).Alinktoazipfolderwithallofthe
languagescanbefoundabove.Ishouldnotethattherearealotofother
StarWarsfontsoutthere,Iwasonlylookingforfontsforinworld
languages.IjusthappenedtohavepickedupsomeotherEnglishones
alongtheway.

AtrisianisalanguagethatcomesfromtheplanetAtrisia.Behindthe
scenes,itisanalphabetthatwasusedinStarWarsgamesseveraltimes

AurebeshisthelanguageoftheStarWarsuniverse.Ifyourelookingatan
officialStarWarsitemfromlikethelast10years,chancesarethereis
Aurebeshprintedonitsomewhere.Aurebeshisanalphabetthatwasbased
onlowqualityscreenshotsofmonitorscreensfromtheoriginalStarWars
movies.Atsomepoint,someonestumbledacrosstheoriginalfontusedfor
thosescreensinthearchivesandrevealedthemtotheworld.Itturnsout
theoriginallettersdifferabitfromAurebesh,butitsstillprettyclose.A
fontthatmoreaccuratelymatchestheoriginalscreens(whichisnot
includedinmy.zipabove)andmoreinformationabouttheoriginal
Aurebeshcanbefoundhere.Inworld,GalacticBasicisthelanguage
spokenbymostofthegalaxy.GalacticbasicisjustEnglish(orwhatever
thenativelanguageisoftheviewer).ThewrittenformofGalacticBasicis
Aurebesh(Aurebeshmeansalphabet.AureisthenameoftheletterAin
GalacticBasicandBeshisthenameoftheletterBinGalacticBasic).
OnenoteaboutthenumbersinAurebesh:MostAurebeshfontsusethe

Ivethoughtaboutitquiteabitandthisjustdoesntseematalllikelyor
logicaltome.DarthVaderwasthelastsithinaverylonglineofsith

wanttobereadingit.Iftheresonlyoneotherpersoninthegalaxywho
knowshowtoreadthislanguage,itdoesntseemlogicalatalltobother
usingthatlanguage.WithAurebeshbeingtheprimarylanguageinthe
galaxy,itstandstoreasonthatVaderwouldhaveusedthat.Oratthevery
leastamorecommonalphabetthanoneonlythetwoofthemknewhowto

textwasusedtohidevaluableinformationthatVaderwantedonlysithto
