Sacrament of Baptism
Baptism is the first step to become a Catholic Christian. Parents who wish to baptize their children agree to raise them in the Catholic faith. For more
information about the requirements for infant baptisms, check the bulletin or call Deacon Dan. Classes are the 2nd Saturday of each month in the Faith
Formation Complex room 13 at 9 am. For Spanish, classes are the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30pm in the Faith Formation Complex room 13.

Sacrament of Reconciliation
God loves us and wants to forgive our sins. You can experience Gods unconditional love through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This
sacrament is available on Tuesdays from 8:30 to 9:00 am, and on Saturdays, English & Spanish, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm, or at other times by
contacting a priest. For Spanish call Fr. Bruno.

Sacrament of Marriage
Please contact the parish a minimum of six months prior to the wedding. Do not set a date prior to your first appointment with a priest or
deacon. If the wedding is to take place elsewhere, please seek advice from our clergy. For more information, please contact Deacon Dan at
565-8406. For Spanish call Fr. Bruno at 565-8406.

Funeral Arrangements
Please contact Deacon Dan in the Parish Office at 565-8406 as soon as possible after a death to make the funeral arrangements. Services can
be in English, Spanish or Bilingual.

Emergency Calls
A hospital chaplain covers all hospitals. In an emergency, please contact the hospital. After hours, please leave a message with the Parish
Office and you will be contacted the next business day.

Catholic Stewardship Appeal (CSA) 2015

Allow me to take this opportunity to encourage you to consider helping our
parish this year with the CSA. We had only 320 families out of more than
2,300 participate in CSA 2014. I want to thank those families in a special way

La Campaa del Diezmo (CSA) 2015
Aprovecho la oportunidad para pedirles que consideren ayudar a su parroquia
este ao con la Campaa del Diezmo (CSA). El ao pasado nos apoyaron
solamente 320 familias de ms de 2,300 familias activas y registradas en la
parroquia. Quiero agradecer a esas familias de un modo especial por su

Mass Intention

Father Bruno has received his new

assignment.

Each Mass may only have one intention unless it is a married

couple with the same last name or family members with the
same last name. The Mass intention will be published in the
weekly bulletin. Having a Mass intention does not guarantee
that the name will be mentioned in Mass. We are able to except
cash or check for the suggested donation of $10.00 per Mass.

On Sunday, June 21, 2015 the parish will have a pot luck
good bye dinner for our Father, Father Bruno. As of July
1, 2015 he will be assigned to St. Francis de Sale.
Father Bruno has served here at St. Peter for six years
and he will be greatly missed. We look forward to
welcoming Father Gem Bandivas as the new
administrator here at St. Peter the Apostle.

82. Why is Jesus called Christ?
436-440, 453: Christ in Greek, Messiah in Hebrew, means
the anointed one. Jesus is the Christ because he is
consecrated by God and anointed by the Holy Spirit for his
redeeming mission. He is the Messiah awaited by Israel, sent
into the world by the Father. Jesus accepted the title of Messiah
but he made the meaning of the term clear: come down from
heaven (John 3:13), crucified and then risen , he is the
Suffering Servant who gives his life as a ransom for the
many (Matthew 20:28). From the name Christ comes our name
of Christian.
83. In what sense is Jesus the Only Begotten Son of
God?
441-445, 454: Jesus is the Son of God in a unique and perfect
way. At the time of his Baptism and his Transfiguration, the
voice of the Father designated Jesus as his beloved Son. In
presenting himself as the Son who knows the Father (Matthew
11:27), Jesus affirmed his singular and eternal relationship with
God his Father. He is the Only Begotten Son of God (1 John
4:9), the second Person of the Blessed Trinity. He is the central
figure of apostolic preaching. The apostles saw his glory as of
the Only Begotten of the Father (John 1:14).

Information for celebrating a Catholic
Marriage in the Diocese of Las Vegas
For couples wishing to get married and live within our
Diocese:
1. Couples should not set a wedding date until they have
met with their parish priest.
2. Couples should contact the brides parish to set a
meeting with the parish priest at least six months
before the anticipated date of the wedding.
3. Weddings will take place in the brides parish unless
permission is given by the Pastor for the wedding to
take place in another church.
