The high case of health risks due to pesticides in our nature of the world
Research Argument Proposal
My argument on sustainability that I have chosen is that chemicals and pesticides are the vast
reason of radiation in our air and the cause of a rise in health risks for many animals and humans
in the world. The type of audience that I am focusing on are children and adults that have
experienced some type of health risk because of pesticides, workers such as florists, gardeners,
pest control, that have seen firsthand the amount of pesticides that are used in the soil; also
farmers that are around cattle on a daily basis that see how the cattle react to the pesticides in
their hay. My warrant is that pesticides and other toxics have caused a drastic amount of health
issues to many, from children to adults. My claim is a claim of policy and it is that the amount of
pesticides in our environment should be reduced because it is harmful towards not only animals
but humans too. Dont you all agree we need to see a change in our nature of the world? A
change in our health risks due to these pesticides? We must stop this high toxic from harming our
soil, animals and mankind, if not who knows how many more generations there will be left to
come after us.
With the amount of pesticides affecting our soil, animals and humans it is only going to get
worse with time if these pesticides arent made un-harmful to our nature and mankind. Based on
the cause of health risks and problems pesticides have brought to our world this moment, we will

see more cases of Lead, Allergen and Pesticides in children child care services, we will have
more cases of children and adults getting cancer due to types of chemicals and pesticides, then
lastly we will start to see a decline in our crop distribution because of the amount of pesticides
within the crops that farmers are exposed to every day.
Based on what we covered in class in our Sustainability book in the argument The
Obligation to Endure by Rachel Carson, she gives a lot of background on how much the nature
of the world is changing due to the negative effect pesticides are causing to our vegetation, cattle,
and humans. Its no longer just a radiation problem thats causing our greenhouse gases to rise
but now its something much greater than that. Based on another source I found by the The First
National Environmental Health Survey they conducted a survey on child care centers to test
how much lead, allergens and pesticides were found within the building where children are
attending; based on the results the risks were high. Also there has been a study found that once
some were exposed to Dicamba (which is an herbicide usually applied to crops), there was
different cancer incidents that occurred soon after. Then lastly Ive found a source that has shown
that farmers dealing with crop production systems in the United States have noticed a decline. It
has stated that the risk of being involved in crop production increases the chance of cancer, birth
defects, sterility, spontaneous abortion, etc. all due to the exposure of toxic substances, including
pesticides.
I plan to express the amount of harm pesticides and other toxics have brought to our nature of
the world; how it has affected not only our soil but also children and adults. I think the most
important appeal to my audience for my argument would be safety needs since it is affecting our
health risks and stability for our lives, also our social needs is very important in this

circumstance since were showing our sense of love and nurture for our friends, family and
community that could be in harm of these health risks in the present or future to come.
