You are required to follow the below questions carefully
1. REVIEW OF CASE
In around 700-1000 words, review the case and story it narrates of the group, focusing mainly on
the personal journeys of Dinshaw Byramji Avari and Byram D Avari.
You should have a critical outlook and point out what inspired you personally in their stories and
their progression towards becoming a success we all are familiar with as Avari.
2. VALUE-DRIVEN?
The case talks a lot about the values this organization was founded on and how they were
perpetuated by generations. You can find more aboutValue-driven organizations are in a reference
book (Choi & Gray) besidesother references. In a note of around 500 words, explain what are
value-based organizations and does Avari group fall in this category or not? (Be sure to give
rationality)
Your explanation has to be grounded in:
(a) The case itself and,
(b) Selected Chapters (No.1, 2, 7, 10 and 13 1) of reference book (uploaded as the soft copy)
Be sure to include references youve used either as end notes OR foot notes OR intext plus end-citation.
We have recognized that companys founders were adamant on following their original set of
values. But these are tough times and reducing headcount is becoming more of a compulsion than
a choice. What options do they have? First, identify clear options (1, 2, 3..) and then based on
clear rationality select the course youd take in this situation. A note of 300-500 words is required
for this.
