Sanyo Service Tip

For the 2009 and 2010 Sanyo LCD and Plasma TVs in a shutdown mode
This Service Tip was provided by Sanyo. Referring to the symptom and the Chassis Versions listed
below, this can be a simple repair. The main boards are on backorder and there is no ETA. IC5750 and
5700 are shown here. They're located under the large shield. IC 5750 is a 48 pin, surface mount, NAND
FLASH IC with easy access for replacement. This will fix 80% of the boards with the symptom below.

SYMPTOM: If the power LED on front of the TV is turning ON

for 10-20 seconds, OFF for 1-2 second and keeps repeating, the
problem is most likely to be IC5750. Affected models are 2009
and 2010, LCD and Plasma Chassis Versions listed to the left.

The IC 5750 you receive will have software 84 already installed.

If IC 5700's manufacture is Quimonda or the TV is a 52", the
software will need to be changed with the use of a USB drive.

Note: Do not use this software in any other Sanyo TV chassis.

If used in the wrong chassis, it could cause the TV to not
turn on and require the NAND FLASH IC to be replaced again.

IF YOU ORDER MORE THAT ONE IC AT A TIME, YOU'LL BE REQUIRED TO SUPPLY THE SERIAL NUMBERS
OF EACH TV THAT'S HAVING THE IC REPLACED. THIS IS SANYO'S REQUIREMENT.

Dear Service Technician:
With the USB connection on the rear of the television, access to the latest
software upgrade is now a simple procedure using your Flash drive.

DOWNLOAD: The correct software (fwsu_c) file will need to be copied

and pasted to USB flash drive in root (not in a folder) and should not
have any other files on USB flash drive when installing software in
the TV. THE SOFTWARE IS LOCATED ON SERVICEBENCH.
THE IC COMES WITH SOFTWARE VERSION 84 INSTALLED

1) Turn TV "on".
Turn "off" any external devices. DVD, Satellite Box, etc.
2) Plug USB Drive into USB port on back of TV.
3) This display/picture should be on TV screen.

4) Please push and hold "Vol Down Key" on TV, and then push
"Menu Key" on Remote. (Both keys must be pushed
to get the below screen on TV)

6) Push "Enter Key" on remote.

Please wait for software to download (normally 30-40 sec.)
7) This display/picture should be on screen.

New Software Number.

This number might change from
original number, per the example
shown above. However, it must
match the SW version required
by IC5700 on page 1.

8) Push "Power Key" on remote to turn TV "off".

9) Remove USB Drive.
10) Turn TV "on" and do channel search.
11) Verify that new software has corrected/improved problem.
