Meet just a few of the talented people who help make Aloe Vera of
America and Forever the leaders in the science of Aloe Vera.
At AVA, we are fortunate to have an
excellent team of dedicated scientists
and technicians who have joined us
from all corners of the world. Our
team is made of up of scientists from
Vietnam, Korea, Philippines, Ethiopia
and the United States.

The 2,100 sq. ft., state-ofthe-art laboratory houses

both the AVA Product
Development Laboratory
and our Quality Control
Laboratory. The Quality Lab
includes both microbiological
and analytical testing
capabilities to serve both the
AVA Product Development
and Production Teams.

The Quality Control Team, which

includes 11 degreed chemists and
microbiologists with experience
ranging from two years to over
20 years, ensures the quality of
the products produced at AVA by
testing every ingredient and every
batch. Testing includes ensuring
specifications are met for pH, viscosity,
taste, and correct levels of vitamins,
minerals and other active components
of the products produced at AVA. The
lab is also leading in the field of Aloe
science. New methods for testing
Aloe Vera gel have been developed to
ensure its purity, quality and potency.
Terry Harkins recently joined the AVA
team as Quality Control Manager
and brings 16 years of experience
in pharmaceutical and skincare
analytical laboratory testing and

management. His experience in USP

methods, product formulations,
quality systems qualifications and
analytical method development and
validation are invaluable. Terry also
has 4.5 years of experience working
specifically with Aloe Vera. Terry and
his team ensure the quality of the
products by testing every ingredient
and every batch produced. The lab
also tests every batch to ensure
there is no contamination through
assays and microbiological testing.
The lab recently purchased a GCMS and has now developed a more
efficient and effective method for
performing in-house pesticide
testing at our AVA laboratory.
Azeb (Zeb) Amsalu, from Ethiopia,
is AVAs Microbiology Laboratory
Manager. Azeb has a degree in

over 16 years. Azebs nearly 20 years of
experience as a microbiologist ensures
that each batch of product produced
meets the strict quality standards set
by Forever Living Products. Azebs
team of microbiologists also test every
ingredient before its used, including
the water used in the production
plant. Azebs team also employs
a comprehensive environmental
monitoring system to ensure the
equipment is clean and acceptable for
use by the Production Team.
AVAs Product Development Laboratory
boasts state-of-the-art equipment
including two different laboratory
mixers that allow our team of scientists
to perfect the mixing, emulsifying
and homogenization processes even
before the product is produced. This
equipment allows for a true scaleup of products from lab to pilot and
from pilot to full-scale production. To

ensure the quality, efficacy and shelflife or our products, the AVA Product
Development Team employs stability
testing and micro challenge testing.
The continuous efforts of our Research
& Development Team at Aloe Vera of
America and Forever Living Products
have resulted in exclusive stabilization
patents for our Aloe Vera. Forever
Living was the first to develop and
patent a stabilization process for Aloe
Vera on a commercial level. Since
then, we have obtained six more Aloe
stabilization patents!
Bahn (Ben) Phan, from Vietnam, has
been with Aloe Vera of America for more
than 30 years and is responsible for all
of the product formulations. Ben was a
key part of the development of Forever
Livings patented stabilization process
of Aloe Vera gel. He is supported
by Dr. Yoo, from Korea, who brings
expertise in sunscreens and creams.

Tessie Tate, from the Philippines, who

had been with Aloe Vera of America for
over 15 years in the quality laboratory,
recently joined the R&D team to assist
with batch scale-up on new products
and to ensure that new products are
transitioned successfully from concept
to full-scale production.

As the body ages, it is less able to produce the natural elements that
make up healthy cartilage, the smooth rubbery connective tissue on
the end of bones.
Cartilage cushions joints and helps

Discovering
the Full Potential
Elijah Koryfan Artman worked at a 9 to 5 marketing job in Silicon Valley
while casually sharing the Forever products he loved. That all changed when
he finally realized the amazing opportunity that was right in front of him...
My journey with Forever was not a
straight line. I never really believed I
could find success with it. I came from
a poor immigrant family but was always
business-minded and worked hard to
find ways to make money. By age 17
I was able to afford two of my dream
cars. They were modest, a VW GTI and
a Honda Coupe, but they were proof
that hard work did pay off.
I was a student at California State
Sacramento studying graphic design
when I was first introduced to Forever.
I really didnt care about the opportunity
in the beginning. Between the
necessary team building and knowing
that it would take time until I would see
real money, I didnt think it was for me.
Nevertheless, I joined because it was
free! After the presentation, I ordered a
2CC product pak, used the toothpaste
and deodorant (because they didnt
contain aluminum and fluoride which
was important to me). I gave the rest of
the pak to a friend to sell.
I was on a long pause for the next 5
years. Sergiu, my upline, called me
every three months or so to see
whether I was ready to start the
business. I always tried to find ways
out of the conversation, because I
was blind to the opportunity and true
potential. I continued to order the
toothpaste and deodorant, and also
gave them to my parents, but never
took any further steps.

As I look back now, to a small

degree, I was already taking
the necessary steps to build a
business - I just wasnt taking
advantage of the opportunity!

with me. Either we do it together, or I

do it alone, but either way, Im going to
become a Diamond Manager!
My confidence sold them. They joined
my team, and today, one of my brothers
is the strongest person in my downline!

A few years after I gave my

initial product pak to my friend, I
received a phone call from Sergiu:
Congratulations, youre a Supervisor!
My friend had shared the products and
signed up several other people. I didnt
think much about it and continued to
focus my energy on my exciting new
career as a professional designer and
marketer. It took two years for me to
realize that my job was too restrictive
for me. I realized it was time to change
something.

To succeed in Forever, you must be

persistent and consistent in growing
your business, and always believe in
what you are doing. I make it a point
to write a daily plan and set goals for
myself to help keep my mind focused.
With my background in marketing,
I have been successful with using social
media to connect with as many people
as I can. Im able to reach out to people
all over the world and truly build a
business empire.

During one of his regular phone calls,

Sergiu told me, Ive worked extremely
hard for the past 5 years, and today
Im financially free. I make more than
enough, but most importantly, I earn
residual income. Residual income is
what attracted me the most. There was
no potential for this kind of income at
my design job, and I finally woke up
almost 5 years after I was introduced to
the company!

Forever changed my life in many

aspects. It has changed the way that
I approach my own health and my
familys health, and it has allowed us
to dream big and set goals to achieve
what we want. I have started to dream
very big, and I want to build my Forever
business as big as Rolf Kipps! In
the short term, Id like to achieve the
Earned Incentive Forever2Drive and
buy a yellow Hummer for my wife, Ann.
Above all, our biggest goal is to help
people all over the world.

I was nervous about introducing Forever

to my friends and family. I had a lot of
concerns about what they would think,
but I had finally decided that I was ready
to take this business to another level.
I gathered my brothers and told them,
Im taking this seriously, Im going to
succeed, and Id like you to succeed

Im thankful to God for giving me this

vision to help others look and feel
better. Without God, nothing would
be possible. I have come a long way.
I have stopped being shy about my
business - now, I share it with everyone,
everywhere I go!
