THE GREAT BANK ROBBERY GAME

The game: Its a role play in which Students have to solve a robbery case, which happened yesterday at
8 pm.
Skills: speaking, (reading)
Vocabulary: Jobs, prepositions, intoducing yourself
Grammar: Past continuous and Past Simple
How to play:
You need to divide your class into groups of eight. If its not possible you can omit some cards, but be
careful not to miss essential information. (The young girl and the greengrocer are less important.)
Students chose cards and read the information on them. The policeman reveals himself and starts
asking questions from the students to find out who the robber is. The others answer according to their
information cards.
Ideas:
When the policeman has finished asking questions you can ask every S in the group to tell their guesses
(of course the robber has to lie).
Set a time limit if you want to make the game more difficult.
Use the sample card to explain the rules and show student the correct forms of sentences.
