Adam and Bryan just finished their class. Bryan is rushing to go to the library and
Adam is after him. But somehow they meet with Nur Amina and her friend…

Location: Somewhere at Cambridge University.

Time: At noon after class.

Adam: Hey Bryan, wait for me…!

Bryan: Hurry up!

Adam: Dude, where are you going?

Bryan: Library, Dr Wills wants me to submit his assignment this Thursday so I’m
looking some references for the final touch.

Adam: Ok, let’s go…

On their way to the library, they meet with Nur Amina and her friend.

Adam: Hey Bryan wait… Bryan!!!

Bryan: Now what?

Adam: Hey! Do you see that girl?

Bryan: Girl? What girl?

Adam: Over there, the one in that ‘blanket’.

Bryan: Blanket? Oh that girl… Why?

Adam: Yea that girl. Did you know her?

Bryan: No and I don’t have time for this. Bye…..! (Bryan leave)

Adam: Bryan!!! Ok fine, I can handle this by myself…

Adam approaches Nur Amina and her friend. Nur Amina is reading a book with her
friend.

Adam: Hi, can I sit here?

Nur Amina: (Look at Adam, smile, shake her head)

Adam: Thank you. (Keep staring at Nur Amina)

Extra: Nur, I have to go now… I’ll call you later ok?

Nur Amina: Ok Katie, bye…

Nur Amina suddenly realizes Adam keep staring at her.

Nur Amina: Hmm can I help you???

Adam: Ummh.. Sorry… reading huh?

Nur Amina: Yea, Priorities of the Islamic Movement in the Coming Phase by Yusuf
Qardawi.

Adam: I think I used to read that book before but I don’t really understand so I didn’t
finish it.

Nur Amina: Really? Well you suppose to finish it because it’s quite interesting.

Adam: Maybe I will…Hmm by the way my name is Adam, Adam Wyatt. (sambil
menghulurkan tangan untuk berjabat tangan dengan Nur Amina)

Nur Amina: My name is Nur Amina. (menangkupkan tangan kanan didada). It doesn’t
mean that I did not respect you but as a Muslim, a woman cannot touch a man
unless her husband and her mahram.

Adam: Oh sorry I don’t know…

Nur Amina: It’s ok.

Adam: Are you from Indonesia? I had been there before, in Bali. It’s fun!

Nur Amina: No, I’m from Malaysia.

Adam: I see. So what course are you taking here?

Nur Amina: Philosophy and Theology. How about you?

Adam: I’m medical student. Nur Amina, can I ask you something?

Nur Amina: Yea, sure. What is it?

Adam: Why are you wearing that? Is it necessary for you to wear that?

Nur Amina: You mean the hijab? (close the book and look at Adam, smile)

Adam: I don’t know what the name is but don’t you feel hot? Come on, its summer
and now you are in UK not Malaysia!

Nur Amina: Hot? (smile again) No, I feel more comfortable wearing it. And it is an
obligation. So I have to wear it wherever I am.

Adam: Obligation??? Is it???

Nur Amina: Yes… It is mentioned in The Holy Quran and because Allah told us to do so.

Adam: But don’t you think it is more to… I meant suppression?

Nur Amina: Yes, most of non-Muslim think that wearing hijab is suppression to the women
but actually it’s not. The Holy Quran says to the believing women that they
should lower their gaze and guard their modesty and they should draw their
veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands..."
Now tell me do you agree if I say that most men see women as a sex object?

Adam: Its kind a shame, but I have to admit that. Yes! Some guys do see women as
sex object.

Nur Amina: So now the hijab will play its role to prevent indecent acts or thoughts. When a
woman is covered, men cannot judge her by her appearance but they are forced
to evaluate her by her personality, character, and morals. Hijab is not a
responsibility, it's a right given to me by my Creator who knows us best. It's a
 benefit to me, so why not? It's something every woman should strive to get and
should want.

Adam: Wow, now I realize the purposes of wearing the hijab. You amazed me…

Nur Amina: It’s just a misunderstanding about hijab and also about Islam. Try to get to
know about Islam and you will realize how beautiful is our religion. Adam, I
afraid I have to go now because I have something to do.

Adam: Nur Amina, wait… How can I contact you if I have anything to ask you about
Islam?

Nur Amina: It would be an honour for me to explain to you more about Islam. Here’s my
phone number.

Adam: Thanks. Bye... ( tangan kanan didada)

Nur Amina: Haha...Bye... (tangan kanan didada)

Scene 2

Bryan is doing the final touch for his assignment. Adam goes to the library to tell Bryan
about his meeting with Nur Amina. Suddenly Katrina comes to interrupt their
conversation. Katrina has a crush on Adam.

Location: Library of Cambridge University.

Time: Evening

Bryan, Adam and Katrina

Adam: Hey, what’s up???

Bryan: Syuushh... Silent please...

Adam: Opps... Sorry... I have met that ‘blanket girl’.

Bryan: Blanket girl? Haha...So how was it?

Adam: Dude, she did impress me!

Bryan: Why? What happened?

Adam: She’s really have strong faith on what she belief. She did not even dare to
touch me because her religion forbids that.

Bryan: Wow! That’s quite impressive...

Adam: And she also told me about the hi....hi.....you know the blanket that covers her
head...

Bryan: You meant hijab???!!!

Adam: Yea! That thing..! She surprised me when she explained the purposes of
wearing that. All this while I have a wrong perception of that hijab and I
think….. I like her.

Bryan: What???!!!!

Suddenly Katrina appears in front of them.

Katrina: Hi guys!!!

Bryan: Katrina??! What on earth are you doing here?

Katrina: Well I need to borrow a few books for references...How about you?

Bryan: Finishing my assignment. I have to submit this by Thursday.

Katrina: Ok, just proceed with your work. (Look at Adam) Adam? What are you doing
here?

Adam: I just accompany Bryan. He is alone here...

Katrina: Oh ok....Hey, are you free tonight?

Adam: Why?!

Katrina: Let’s go for a dinner tonight?

Adam: Tonight? Hmm I don’t think I can make it Kat. I have a lot of works to do.
Katrina: Again? This is the third time you reject my invitation. Why?

Adam: Sorry Kat, but I really can’t make it...I told you I have a lot of works to do.

Bryan: Yes…! He does Kat.

Katrina: Ok fine…Or it just an excuse to avoid me. (whispering)

Adam: Pardon???

Katrina: Oh, nothing Adam. (smile). Hey, I better leave now. Lots of works waiting!

Bryan: Why you always avoiding her?

Adam: No, I don’t! Hey the library is going to close. Lets go.

Scene 3

Adam is curious about Islam and he wants to know more. So he calls Nur Amina to
meet him. They meet at a cafe and Adam asks a lot about Islam. Suddenly Katrina
comes and Adam introduces her to Nur Amina.

Location: La Mimosa Cambridge Café.

Time: After class, at noon.

Adam, Nur Amina and Katrina

Adam: Hello, Miss Nur Amina?

Nur Amina: Yes? May I know whose speaking?

Adam: It’s me, Adam!

Nur Amina: Oh, I do remember you. Can I help you?

Adam: Actually, I want to ask you a few things about Islam. So are you free
this evening?

Nur Amina: Luckily yes, I am free is evening. So where can I meet you?

Adam: Ok great. So, 2 pm at La Mimosa Cambridge Café?

Nur Amina: Ok. I’ll be there.

At the La Mimosa Cambridge Café…

Adam: Sorry for being late Nur, you know how the traffic is.

Nur Amina: Never mind. So how can I help you?

Waiter: May I take your order sir?

Adam: Yea, coffee please. Thank you. Nur Amina, I want to know why most of the
terrorists are Muslim? You know like Osama bin Ladin, the Al Qaeda? Why
does Islam promote terrorism?

Nur Amina: How sure are you that Islam promoting terrorism?

Adam: Well that is what the media told us.

Nur Amina: That’s the problem. The media only spread the negative news about Islam.
That is why western people intent to hate Islam and some of them are even
Islamophobia. Nowadays, you can’t judge Islam by its followers anymore.

Adam: But why?

Nur Amina: Because most of them are astray from Islam. The word Islam comes from an
Arabic root word meaning "peace" and "submission." Islam teaches that one
can only find peace in one's life by submitting to Almighty God (Allah) in
heart, soul and deed. The same Arabic root word gives us "Salaam alaykum,"
("Peace be with you"), the universal Muslim greeting.
Adam: I never know that. So everything is just misconception about Islam.

Nur Amina: But when people get to know Islam, they will realize how beautiful Islam is.

Waiter: Coffee sir.

Adam: Thank you. (smile) So Nur Amina, how about the position of women in Islam?
Except for the hijab, which contains a lot of benefits by wearing it, I think
there are some more that lower your dignity as a woman.

Nur Amina: No, you are wrong Adam.(smile) Islam even increases my dignity as a woman.

Adam: Katrina?! What are you doing here? (keep the books)

Katrina: Having lunch with my friends…

Adam: Oh…

Katrina: By the way, what are you doing here because you are rarely been here?

Adam: Oh, I just meet my friend.

Katrina: And who is this pretty girl?

Nur Amina: Nur Amina Ibrahim, Philosophy and Theological student.

Katrina: Oh, I’m. Katrina William, just call me Kat, medical student, same with Adam.

Nur Amina: I afraid I have to go now. Nice to meet you Katrina. See you soon. Bye Adam.
( Nur Amina leaves)

Both: Bye Nur Amina…

Katrina: Who is that Adam?

Adam: I told you she is my friend.

Katrina: Philosophy and Theological student? Now you want to become a philosopher?
Oh come on Adam! Hey, I am talking to you and look at me!

Adam: What?!

Katrina: Who is she?

Adam: She is my friend, my friend! Don’t you get it??? Hmmm I smell jealousy
here…

Katrina: You think???

Adam: Ok, Katrina. I am busy and I have a lot of works to do. See you! Bye!

Katrina: Adam!!! (Adam leaves)

Katrina knows that Adam likes Nur Amina. So she wants to get confirmation if Adam
really likes Nur Amina from Bryan.
Location: Library of Cambridge University.

Katrina: Hi Bryan!

Bryan: Hi Kat…

Katrina: I know you are here. So how was your assignment?

Bryan: Thank God Dr Wills satisfied with it. By the way what are you doing here?

Katrina: Looking for you…

Bryan: Looking for me? Why?

Katrina: Where is Adam? (tengok kiri kanan) Is he here?

Bryan: Nope. He has class right now. Hey, why are you looking for me?

Katrina: Actually I want to ask you something about Adam and…….

Bryan: And…….?????

Katrina: And…..Hey do you know Nur Amina?

Bryan: Yea! I know her and Adam always talk about her with me.

Katrina: What? So Adam likes her?

Bryan: I don’t know. But he keeps talking that half of himself is empty and he
said he need something to fill it.

Katrina: So he does like Nur Amina.

Bryan: I’m not sure about that. Hey are you jealous?

Katrina: Adam is my boyfriend. Of course I am jealous.

Bryan: Boyfriend??? Hey, I think Nur Amina is hot and you better take a good care of
your ‘boyfriend’! (sinis)

Katrina: Oh shut up Bryan! (Katrina leaves)

Bryan: Bye Katrinaaaaaa….Hahaha

Scene 5

Katrina is jealous with Nur Amina. She meets with Nur Amina and warns her to stay
away from Adam. Adam sees them and tries to calm the situation.

Location: Somewhere at Cambridge University.

Time: Morning

Katrina, Nur Amina and Adam

Katrina: Hello Miss Nur Amina…Going to the class??? (sinis)

Nur Amina: Katrina hi…. Yea and you?

Katrina: Ok! Let’s make this clear! Stay away from Adam! I warn you?

Nur Amina: What? Adam? (shocks) I don’t understand….

Katrina: Stop pretending like you know nothing!

Nur Amina: Kat, I don’t get it. What happened?

Katrina: You think I don’t know what happen between you and Adam! He is my
boyfriend and stay away from him!!!

Nur Amina: Katrina please… He is just my friend. There is nothing between us!

Katrina: Oh, come on Miss Nur Amina! I’m not an idiot. And stop pretending to a nice
decent girl! I’m sick of it!

Nur Amina: Katrina!!!

Adam comes……

Adam: Hey, what going on?

Katrina: Here you are Mr Right! Tell this girl that you are mine!

Nur Amina: I’ll better move. I have class. (run and cry)

Katrina: Serve you right! I know you have crush on her right? She is the one who’s
going to fill your emptiness right?

Adam: Yes!!! But not with love but ISLAM!!!

Katrina: Islam???

Adam: Yes Kat… She is the one who brought Islam to me. All this while I feel half of
myself is empty and I need something to fill it but I don’t know what is it. But
when I met with Nur Amina, she explained to me everything about Islam and
now I feel peace, calmness in my heart. And I realize how beautiful this
religion is.

Katrina: Sorry, I don’t know (tunduk)

Adam: And one more thing Kat, I have made my decision. I’m going to pronounce my
shahada at London Mosque next week. I want you to be there.

Katrina: What? Are you serious Adam? Did Bryan know about this?

Adam: I am serious and I already told Brya. He supports my decision. But Nur Amina
doesn’t know about this. So please don’t tell her.

Katrina: Ok. I will. But you have to remember that you cannot turn back if you choose
to convert to Islam…

Adam: I know and that’s why I need you to support me, Katrina.

Katrina: Don’t worry… I will Adam, I will…

Adam: Thanks Kat.

Adam is going to pronounce his testimonial of faith, the shahada at London Mosque.

Katrina: Good luck Adam…(whispering)

Adam: Thanks…

Imam: Before I proceed, I want to ask you a question. Are you going to
become a Muslim based on certainty, acceptance, submission, truthfulness, and
sincerity?

Adam: Yes Imam.

Imam: So no one force you to become a Muslim because The Holy Quran says Laa
iqra ha fid deen… There are no compulsions in religion?

Adam: No Imam.

Imam: Alhamdulillah. Ok follow what I’m going to say with clarity of intention, firm
faith and belief . (jari telunjuk tunjuk kat atas, Adam ikut)

Adam, Bryan and Katrina go to Nur Amina’s house to introduce the new Adam,
Muhammad Firdaus Wyatt Abdullah.

Nur Amina: Waalai…kumsalam…Adam?

Katrina: Ah…aaaa…Not Adam anymore but Muhammad Firdaus Wyatt Abdullah.

Nur Amina: Katrina? Bryan? I don’t get it. Please…. come in….

Adam. Bryan, Katrina say thanks and enter to Nur Amina’s house….

Nur Amina: Please be seated. Who is Muhammad Firdaus?

Bryan & Kat: ADAM!!!

Nur Amina: What?

Adam: That’s right Amina, I am a Muslim now…

Nur Amina: Subhanallah!!! But how?

Adam: You brought Islam to me Amina. Thank you…

Nur Amina: Subhanallah! But I don’t do anything….

Katrina: Yes you did! And I’m sorry because I attacked you that day…

Nur Amina: Never mind… .It’s ok Kat…

Bryan: Now, let’s celebrate for new reborn Adam!

Nur Amina: Lets hope that after this Kat and Bryan also will receive AN NUR like Adam!!
