PRE-QUALIFICATION

REQUIREMENTS

FOR

11 KV POLE MOUNTED ISOLATING SWITCHES AND SWITCH-FUSES

1.

Fully dimensional drawings to scale and in A3 sized sheets, giVing constructional

details and material specifications of all parts and components for 3-phase, 400 Amp.
rated 11 KV Pole Mounted Isolating Switches (Horizontal Mounting) and Isolating
Switch-Fuses (Vertical Mounting) with manually operated mechanism suitable for
mounting on 12 M. wooden poles forming "H" type construction with 183 ems. Pole
Centers. The normal ratings of the 11 KV Isolating Switches and Switch-Fuses shall be
the maximum continuous ratings under the worst temperature conditions encountered
in Kuwait (55C).

2.

Complete type test reports and certificates for the above types of 11 KV Pole
Mounted
Isolating
Switches
and Isolating
Switch-Fuses
designed
and
constructed as per the technical specifications and requirements of the Ministry
of Electricity & Water (MEW), Kuwait, or for Isolating Switches and Isolating
Switch-Fuses of similar rating, design and construction from an Internationally
Recognized Independent Test Laboratory (AST A, KEMA or CESI).
The test
reports and certificates older than five (5) years are not accepted.

3.

Completed, signed and stamped Technical Schedules for "General Particulars and
Guarantees" for 11 KV Pole Mounted Isolating Switches and Isolating Switch-Fuses in
a given format.

4.

Guarantee for 11 KV Pole Mounted Isolating

against design and manufacturing defects.

5.

Manufacturer's

6.

Manufacturer's profile including copy of the audited balance sheet including summary of
actual assets and liabilities for a minimum three (3) financial years attested by the
concerned authorities in the manufacturer's own country and in Kuwait.

7.

Confidential statements from Bankers about the position of the Firm.

List and description of the Company's engineering plants stating the location, installed
facilities, manufacturing capacity of each and history of the company.

14.

Details and sources of all raw materials and test certificates.

15.

Details of manufacturing process and quality control procedure followed.

16.

Design calculations as and where applicable.

17.

Production capacity.

18.

List and description of similar 11 KV Pole Mounted Isolating Switches and Isolating
Switch-Fuses supplied by the Manufacturer within the last 5 years indicating clearly
their types, numbers, value, location and the Owner's name and address.

19.

Certificates from Clients/Engineering Consultants of at least three Purchase Orders of

11 KV Pole Mounted Isolating Switches and Isolating Switch-Fuses where the
manufacturer has had similar type in reliable operation for a minimum of three (3)
years, certifying that their present status is satisfactory.

20.

List of current works giving types, numbers, value, destination of 11 KV Pole Mounted
Isolating Switches and Isolating Switch-Fuses and purchaser's name and address.

21.

Once the above submissions/requirements

are completed, studied and accepted,
the Manufacturer has to provide this Ministry at their own cost with one complete
sample of 11 KV Pole Mounted Isolating Switch-Fuse for trying out in the network
for a period of one (1) complete year.
