Disagreements are normal in family life. That is why forgiveness also needs to be
routine in our families. The problem is that many families are good at disagreeing but
not skilled at reconciling. Like the disciples in the gospel we hide behind locked doors
out of fear that we may lose face or be seen as wrong or weak. As long as we allow our
fear to rule our actions, we will never experience the peace that Jesus promises in
todays gospel. Take the first step in offering an apology for forgiveness.

326 Holy Hours were kept with Our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration last week.
One of the best gifts you can give yourself is time alone with God. Anyone can
make a Holy Hour at any time....just be sure to sign in at the back of the

becoming a member of our team.

Formation in Faith Lecture Series - Bishop Richard Lennon, Bishop of Cleveland, will present two
lectures per month at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Cleveland immediately following the
Noon Mass. The 2015 Cathedral lecture series will feature presentations on the Right of Christian
Initiation of Adults. The next sessions will be Thursday, April 30.

Community Corner

Barberton Area Community Ministries item for the Month of April is Pasta & Spaghetti Sauce.

Thank you again for all your support in helping us serve our brothers and sisters in need. All
donations can be placed in the bench in front of the giving tree in the vestibule of the church. Donations
are picked up on Monday mornings.
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 20 the first 2015 Parish Picnic Meeting will be held in
the rectory. Anyone interested in helping at the picnic this year, please plan on attending.

Sunday, April 19 following the 10:30 Mass. Please take the time to share your week with fellow
parishioners.

Please pray for the children making their First Holy Communion on Saturday, May 2 at 11am,
and the Confirmandi making their Confirmation on Sunday, May 24 at the 10:30 Mass.
The Divorced, Separated and Widowed Catholics of Akron is sponsoring a talk by
Tom Bilcze, an organizer for the Akron Area Hiking group. He will share information
about hiking and biking opportunities throughout the area. It will be held on
Monday, April 13 at 7:30 pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary, Convent Building, 1945
Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls. This event is open at no cost to single people of all

Coming up in the Women of Faith..

A Core Team Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15 at 7:00pm in


the rectory. Discussion will include the April 21 meeting and the second
annual Celebrate Women Breakfast.
All parishioners (women and men) are invited to the April 21 meeting at 6:30pm in the
school cafeteria. The topic: Extreme Couponing. Our featured speaker will be Chad
Mallory, a junior at Manchester High School. He was interviewed last year for a Beacon
Journal article written by Betty Lin Fisher. It focused on how Chad used coupons to
assist his family financially and donate to those in need locally as well as through his

churchs mission to the poor. A free will offering will be taken up for Chads next mission
trip.
Tickets for the upcoming Celebrate Womens Breakfast will go on sale next weekend,
April 11-12 after all the Masses. They will also be available in the Rectory Office
beginning April 13. The cost is $5.00. Additional event details will follow.

Kenmore for the Life in the Spirit Seminar, Saturday, April 18 1-10:00pm (Vigil
Mass at 5:30pm followed by diner) and Sunday, April 19 6:30-10:00pm. Featured
speakers will be Fr. Michael B. Smith, Fr. Pete Colletti, Fr. Jared Orndorff and Fr.
Andrew Turner. Enjoy music, praise, prayer and worship along with good fellowship.

cafeteria from 7-8:25am on Saturday, April 18. We will discuss the Muslim Religion. Fr. Glaros
will join us to give us his perspective, from his experiences on the ground as a military chaplain.
All men of the parish and friends are encouraged to attend.
SACRED HEART OF JESUS (Wadsworth, OH) WOMENS RETREAT APRIL 24-25. Join
us for a blessed weekend of inspiration and prayer on the theme of The Better Part:
Sitting at the Feet of Our Lord. The retreat will be directed by Fr. Nathan Cromly, a
joyful young monk and popular speaker and retreat director. For information and

Due to lack of interest, the bus trip scheduled for April 14 is being cancelled.
The next round of Euchre will be Friday, May 1 beginning at 6:30pm in the
school cafeteria.
Players of all ages are welcome to attend. Come and enjoy an
evening out with fellow parishioners.
Summer will be here before we know it! Be sure to mark your
calendars for this years Vacation Bible School: Hometown
Nazareth! the week of June 22-26. Come experience a little
bit of what it would have been like to be a kid in the time
Jesus was growing up. Volunteers are always welcomed! If

Have you made your Confirmation yet? It is feasible that some adults have
not received the Sacrament of Confirmation for one reason or the other. St.
Augustine would like to invite adults who have not been confirmed to consider
doing so this year. Fr. Matthew Glaros is inviting all Catholic men and women
who have already been baptized, made your First Confession and have received
your First Holy Communion to work with him to get ready to be confirmed here at St.
Augustine Church on Sunday, May 24 at 10:30. Classes will be held in the Rectory on
Sundays beginning April 12, from 7-8:30pm. Classes will run through May 17. Please
contact the rectory (330-745-0011) if you wish to be included in the Confirmation classes.

For all who are interested on attending..POPE FRANCIS PAPAL VISIT:


Saints Peter and Paul Church (Doylestown, OH) plans to sponsor a bus tour to
Philadelphia in September in conjunction with the Papal Visit of the Holy Father. We
would like to extend an invitation to join us on this historic pilgrimage. The highlight
of the tour will be the Papal Mass on September 27, 2015. The tour will commence
on September 25 and will return on September 28. Price based on double
occupancy is $629. A $100 deposit is required as soon as possible to secure a

annual 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration will be held on Sunday, July 26 at the
Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Bishop Richard G. Lennon, will be the principal
celebrant. Reservations are now being accepted for couples married 50 years.
Couples who are celebrating other significant anniversaries (55 or over) or have
missed previous celebrations are welcome to register and attend. Seating is limited
in the Cathedral. The number of guests will be determined by the seating capacity
and total number registered. Mark your calendars for Sunday July 26, Mass will
begin at 2:30pm in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Please contact the
rectory if you wish to register for this special event.
A Catholic Cemetery, like a Catholic Funeral is for the living, and the dead.
Please Join Us for A FINAL GIFT workshop and presentation, Thursday,
April 23 from 6-7:oo pm at Holy Cross Cemetery, 100 Waterloo Road,
Akron. This workshop is free (registration is appreciated by calling 330724-1297) Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Cemetery/
funeral costs have become the third largest expense most families will pay

funeral. Everyone in attendance will receive a Catholic Personal Planning
