Business Intelligence technologies provide historical, current and predictive


views of business operations.

Microsoft
Microsoft's Big Data strategy includes a partnership with Hortonworks, a
Big Data start-up, and the HDInsights tool based on Hortonworks Data
Platform. Microsoft is also known for its SQL Server database, and was the
ninth biggest Big Data vendor in 2012, with $196 million in revenues.
Microsoft BI includes MS Office Excel, SQL Server & SharePoint. MS Office
Excel empowers users to discover analyse and visualize data with
powerful self-service. SharePoint enables collaboration and sharing of
reports and data in managed and secure environment.
SQL server reporting service s provides operational reporting for pixel
perfect printing, browser based viewing, ad hoc data exploration &
visualization.

SAP
SAP offers a variety of analytics tools, but is best known for its HANA in-memory
database. It was the sixth biggest Big Data vendor in 2012, with $368 million in
revenues.
SAP is the provider of a number of business intelligence solutions. The portfolio
includes SAP BI suite, Business Objects BI Suite, Lumira & SAP Crystal reports.
SAP BI adds measurable value to existing SAP Investment, including the SAP
Business Suite & SAP Netweaver Business warehouse with business intelligence
solutions for SAP applications to empower users to extract data from current
applications and analyse and present it to actionable insight.
SAP crystal reports produce crystal perfect reports that are clear and
customizable for business insights.

Teradata
Teradata was the third biggest Big Data vendor in 2012, with $435 million in
revenues. Teradata is known for its hardware platforms, and database and
analytics software. It also offers specific analytic tools for retail and
transportation industries.
The firm is world's biggest firm on increasing business intelligence through data
warehousing and project analytics. Situated in around 40 nations, the firms

provides a single source of reliable and precise data for professionals which help
them in decision making and enhancing customer relationships, productivity and
analytic competence to convert data into knowledge. Teradata has more than
850 clients and around 1,900 sub divisions all across over 100 nations.
The firm has started its operations in India since 2001 and currently it has a R&D
expansion facility in Bangalore and Hyderabad besides an international advisory
centre in Mumbai. It aims to help in the expansion of Indian Business Intelligence
market as well as offer its customers knowledge on BI policies. The company
desire to bring together the entire BI user group irrespective of the applications
they have installed to satisfy their business requirements.

IBM
IBM was the biggest Big Data vendor in 2012 by revenues, with $1.3 billion from
Big Data-related products and services, according to a recent Wikibon report.
Offerings include server and storage hardware, database software, analytics
applications, and associated services.
Best known products are the DB2, Informix and InfoSphere database platforms,
and Cognos and SPSS analytics applications. IBM also supports the Hadoop open
source data analytics platform.
IBM Business Intelligence products are designed to integrate with one another
and with many third party solutions including leading big data platforms. These
are cognos BI & cognos Insight.

Oracle
While Oracle is best known for its flagship database, it's also a big player in the
Big Data space. Its Oracle Big Data Appliance combines an Intel server,
Cloudera's Hadoop distribution and Oracle's NoSQL database. It was the fifth
biggest Big Data vendor in 2012, with $415 million in revenues.
Oracle is the provider of oracle business intelligence enterprise edition. It is a
comprehensive business intelligence platform that delivers the full range of
capabilities including interactive dashboards, ad hoc queries, notifications and
alerts, enterprise & financial reporting, scorecard & strategy management.
