What is a dogma and what

is a myth?
Dogma
original, religion-related definition: a
doctrine proclaimed by ecclesiastical authority as true.
++Based on above definition a new meaning
of dogma has come into existence: An
authoritative scientific principle, belief, or
statement of ideas or opinion.
++Another definition: An authoritative belief
or doctrine considered to be absolutely
true.
++You dont have your own opinion if you
think in dogmas.

++Its

Myth

++An

unproved or false individual or collective belief.

Prevailing opinion 1.
Todays prevailing opinion: Cholesterol is
bad for you.

++According

to todays approved approaches, if our blood cholesterol exceeds a certain level, it will accumulate in our veins.
++In time, the cholesterol accumulation will
become calcified.
++The calcifying accumulation will narrow
down the targeted vein therefore a reduced
amount of blood will flow through that vein.
++That area in our body, which is supplied by
the calcified vein, will be damaged due to
the reduced blood flow and it may decay.
++One of the best known examples is the decay of the heart muscle which we know as
a heart attack.
Those who believe in todays prevailing opinion, suggest that we should avoid consuming food rich in cholesterol.

Food like certain fatty meat, milk and other

dairy products (cream, sour cream, cheese
etc.), bacon and egg.
So we need to be careful not to put our body
to risk with consuming food containing bad
cholesterol.
According to the propaganda advertised
by those who believe in above described
approach, we should measure our cholesterol level regularly and if its just a slightly bit
over the officially approved normal level, we
should take cholesterol lowering drugs.
Based on this approach then, the key for our
health is a cholesterol poor diet and finding
the ways to keep our cholesterol level low
even with the help of medicines.
Todays prevailing idea accepts this approach as the truth.

Prevailing opinion 2.

Dogma or science? 1.

To summarize:

Is this theory that cholesterol is bad for

you a dogma or a scientific fact?

++Cholesterol

is a harmful and dangerous

material.
++Cholesterol is accumulated in our veins,
causing arteriosclerosis and the damage of
certain areas.
++We should avoid consuming food rich in
cholesterol.
++We should keep our blood cholesterol level
low.
++To achieve this, we should consider taking
cholesterol lowering drugs.
This is todays prevailing opinion.

Nowadays it is considered to be a proved and

irrevocable fact. But is it really?
What should we examine to make a final decision?
My approach is simple.
If a theory is correct, on one hand it gives
an excellent explanation to those phenomena
which it should make understandable.
If a theory is correct, on the other hand,
great solutions might be created which actually could help solving the problem for which
the theory has come into existence.

Lets see the case of the cholesterol theory,

then:
If we accept the prevailing theory, then
is evidence that cholesterol is really
bad for you and there is evidence that the
less cholesterol is the better for your body.
++Arteriosclerosis only occurs to people with
high cholesterol level.
++All people with high cholesterol level have
arteriosclerosis as cholesterol accumulates
because there is too much of it in the body.
++People with low cholesterol level shouldnt
be concerned about arteriosclerosis, heart
attacks, strokes etc.
++The now wide-spread popularity of low
cholesterol and low fat diet has obviously
resulted in lowering the number of patients
with cholesterol issues.
++Lower cholesterol level has resulted in providing better health for people.

++There

++The

decades-long worldwide usage of

cholesterol lowering drugs has probably resulted in lowering the number of cholesterol
related diseases.

Lets examine the truth in above points.

What do we need to know

of the accused? 1.
Cholesterol is widely considered as a
material which we do not need at all.
In fact, it is dangerous and harmful.
Our health could be much better if we lived
without them.
Lets examine a person who follows the prevailing idea and doesnt consume cholesterol
rich food.
A vegan person is probably the most suitable for this examination as they wouldnt eat
meat, milk, dairy or eggs.

We can find cholesterol even in those peoples

bodies who havent consumed cholesterol in
their entire lives.
Moreover, at least the same level of cholesterol can be found in their bodies than in the average, cholesterol consuming persons body.
How is that possible?
How does the harmful cholesterol end up in
our body if we dont consume it?
It is very simple.

In their blood the cholesterol level should

be zero.
However!
There is no such person whose cholesterol
level would be zero.

10

11

What do we need to know

of the accused? 2.
Our body produces
amount of cholesterol.

relatively

large

Only outdoor environment could provide water and air for the body but cholesterol is different and our body didnt leave it to chance
to get enough of it. The body is able to produce it for itself. Our body wouldnt be able
to function without cholesterol just as it
wouldnt be able to function without oxygen.

Continuously, every single day.

Not because there is something wrong with it.
Not because it wants to damage itself.
Not because it wants to upset the cardiologists1.
The reason is much more prosaic.
Our body produces large amount of cholesterol because it needs it.
The human body desperately needs cholesterol.
Cholesterol is just as important and essential
to the body as water or air.

We can ascertain that life becomes impossible without the right amount of cholesterol.
Without the sufficient amount of cholesterol
we would die just as wed do without sufficient water and oxygen.
Therefore it is irresponsible to consider cholesterol as a harmful material which we should
avoid and dont need.
The truth is exactly the opposite.
Without sufficient amount of cholesterol
we wouldnt stay alive.

12

13

Why is cholesterol essential

to our body?
Cholesterol is an essential material.
Our body uses it for several purposes.

Vitamin D
It is a well-known fact that Vitamin D is produced in our skin as an effect of the sun.
It is not so well-known that we can only produce Vitamin D if we have enough cholesterol
in our body because cholesterol is a so-called
pre-material for Vitamin D.

We need cholesterol:

++For producing Vitamin D.

++For producing sex hormones.
++As the base material of stress hormones.
++As a building material for our nervous sys-

Vitamin D, produced from cholesterol, is essential for keeping our bones and teeth
healthy.
If we dont have enough Vitamin D in our
body, then the calcium, consumed with our
food, wouldnt be able to be absorbed from
our digestive system.

tem and brain.

++For building cellular membranes.

++And the list could go on.

14

Vitamin D has a key role in assisting our bones

to regenerate themselves so they wouldnt
age as quickly.

15

US health authorities have recently admitted

that American people generally suffer
from relatively high Vitamin D deficiency
therefore they have significantly raised the
recommended daily intake.

Sex hormones

The situation is not much better here than

in the USA. The high level of Vitamin D deficiency can be considered a general fact here
as well.

Womens ability to become pregnant and

mens fertility depend on these hormones.

So its not a surprise to see the high number of

patients with dental problems and osteoporosis. One of the reasons for the frequent and
serious occurrences is Vitamin D deficiency.

Sex hormones are produced from cholesterol

and they are essential factors for women becoming women and men becoming men.

The ladies well-balanced sex hormone production has a great effect on a regular and
symptomless menstruation.
A well-balanced sex hormone production is
also a pre-condition of a smooth pregnancy.

Also, more and more scientific researchers

suggest that Vitamin D has an essential role
to strengthen our immune system.

16

17

Stress hormones
Dont get it wrong. Stress hormones dont
cause stress. Quite the contrary!
They make it possible that in stressful periods
of our lives we could keep going and wouldnt
be beaten.
In case of an epidemic, it is quite easy to predict who are going to fall short.
Not necessarily those people who havent
gotten vaccination.
Mostly those people will get sick whose body
dont produce enough stress hormones.
Stress hormones, produced from cholesterol,
are key factors of increased stress tolerance level.

The nervous system and

the brain
It is a well-known fact that our nervous system consists of a large amount of different
types of fat or fat-like materials.
The presence of these materials is one of the
most important pre-conditions of a smooth
nervous system operation.
The most important building material of our
nervous system is cholesterol and the fats
which are built up from cholesterol.
Here is one piece of information to demonstrate the necessary amount:
10 per cent of our brains dry content (that
is when we dont consider water in our brain)
is cholesterol.
Its not difficult to realise how important
cholesterol is in our healthy brain functioning.

18

19

Cell membrane

Not by chance!

We do know that our body is built up from

cells.
We also know that all our cells most important part is the so called cell membrane, a
layer as light as air.

Breast milk doesnt contain cholesterol

by chance.

Cell membranes have a deep effect on our

life processes through their effect on the operation of cells.
If there is no intact cell membrane, we dont
have our health.
Cell membranes contain large amount of cholesterol and sources of cholesterol.
So if we want our cell membranes and all of
our cells to stay healthy, we cannot be
without the versatile cholesterol.

20

It contains much more than cow milk and

approximately twice as much than goat milk
which has a quite high percentage of fat.
Indeed, cholesterol is essential for the
development of an intact nervous system
of a growing baby.
Furthermore for everything else we have already mentioned before.
Therefore, breast-feeding assists the development of a healthy baby much better than the
artificial formula poor in cholesterol.
A point of interest:
It has been observed that when a breastfeeding mother who normally smokes, puts down
the cigarette, the level of cholesterol in her
breast milk does increase which is essential
for the healthy development of her baby.

21

It is worthwhile to know that breast milk is rich

in other types of fat as well as cholesterol.
It is not by chance!

Its thought-provoking
Would this material be harmful?
The presence of the right amount of cholesterol of which depends:
++The healthy state of all our cells?
++The well-balanced operation of our nervous
system?
++The wholeness of our thinking?
++The health of our bones and teeth?
++The strength of our immune system?
++The faultlessness of our sex hormones?
++Our fertility and ability to become pregnant?
++The high level of our stress tolerance level?
++The healthy development of our babies?
Thought-provoking, to say the least.
We need to search for more evidence.
We need to examine more data to get the
whole picture.

22

23

Is it possible?
We know already that our body produces
large amount of cholesterol for itself.
We have also seen it why.

Their cows didnt produce milk with 0.1% of

fat and they couldnt get low-fat cream, sour
cream or cheese on the markets.
Our ancestors couldnt cook tasty, crumbly
chicken breast in a frying bag without using
fat.

Is it possible that we get into trouble

when we consume cholesterol rich food
and so we add an extra amount of cholesterol to that already produced level?
Is it possible that the consumed and produced level together too much?
Too much with which our body is not able
to cope and the excess is deposited in our
veins?
It would be strange if nature wouldnt have
taken this into consideration.
After all, back then our ancestors couldnt get
their hands on mammoths with low cholesterol level.

24

25

Syllabus

The less cholesterol our food contains,

the more our body will produce.

Lets see what the medical textbook has

to say about this issue1:
How does our body cope with this task?
I quote:
There is inverse proportion between the level
of cholesterol absorbed from the nutrient canal and the level of cholesterol produced in
the body which means that in a healthy body
the cholesterol absorbed from the nutrient
canal controls the speed of cholesterol production.

This whole process is very simple, rational and logical.

Exactly the way we would expect it from the
human body a redefined and perfect design.
Its sensible and economical. It only works
when it has to. If we provide sufficient amount
of cholesterol, our body will work on the back
burner or turn itself off.
Its perfect!

This means that when we consume cholesterol rich food, our body will produce
less.
The more cholesterol we consume, the
less our body will produce.

1. Ferenc Guba: Medical biochemistry (1988)

26

27

I will risk a question

Like a child.
With innocence in my widely opened eyes.

I know that according to the popular belief, it

is forbidden to ask this question.
I know that I might get a rap on the knuckles
for this, but I thought I would risk it.

Based on what we have covered so far, is it

possible that the higher our cholesterol level
is, the healthier we are?
After all, we need cholesterol for so many
things.
Are we sure that we should keep its level
low?
Wouldnt that mean a danger?
Without sufficient cholesterol there might not
be enough Vitamin D, sexual hormones or
stress hormones?
Our nervous system might be in danger.
Our brain.
All of our cells.

28

29

Especially because 1.

Especially because 2.

Especially because vegans could have

high cholesterol level too.

Especially because there are scientific researches which suggest that people with
higher cholesterol level had the possibility of
living a longer life.

You see, I put high in quotation marks.

Not by accident.
High means the level which is considered
to be high by todays official approach.
Is it possible that high is not really that
high?
Is it possible that vegans1 who dont consume
cholesterol at all, their body produce this level
because thats exactly the amount they need
and not because theres something gone
wrong in their bodies?

30

31

Especially because 3.

In my opinion

Especially because having low cholesterol

level doesnt necessarily mean protection against arteriosclerosis and its consequences.

I dont believe that the so-called cholesterol lowering drugs which actually prevent producing cholesterol dont have
harmful effect on
++Producing Vitamin D
++Our sex hormones
++Our fertility and ability to become pregnant
++Our stress tolerance level
++Our nervous system
++Our mental ability
++The functioning of all our cells
++And the list could go on.

Yes, thats right.

People with low cholesterol level, who often
get compliments from their doctors based on
the official testing figures, could also have arteriosclerosis, heart attack, stroke etc.
Moreover, the risk of becoming affected by
these diseases is not lower for those with low
cholesterol than for people with high cholesterol level.

I have done my research.

I havent found one reference that a researcher actually did examine this issue although it
should have been done.
For the safety of people who are treated by
cholesterol lowering drugs.

32

33

This most significant issue somehow was put

on the backburner and instead the focus was
on selling larger number of cholesterol lowering drugs as fast as possible.
I strongly believe that the unnatural and forced
reduction of the essential cholesterol level in
the body is a highly risky thing to do.
However, safety tests have been failed to
happen yet.
You will see that other reasonable safety tests
havent been occurred either before distribution of cholesterol lowering drugs.
Moreover, when later serious side-effects,
for example carcinogenic effects of cholesterol lowering drugs had come into light,
warning information was disregarded in a bold
manner.

Additionally
Careful studying of the research literature
suggests that the blood cholesterol level
is different to all of us.
Therefore the healthy cholesterol level is different for each of us.
One person functions well with lower
cholesterol level, the other person needs
higher level for being healthy.
This fact is generally true, and applies to other
factors as well not just cholesterol.
I do believe that it is harmful to be labelled
within a frame of valid and mandatory normal
cholesterol level for everyone.
We are not machines!
The medical literature suggests that the level
of cholesterol in our blood changes during the day.

34

35

Samples taken from different times will show

different cholesterol levels.
Therefore the results of blood samples taken
from the morning or the afternoon wont indicate the full picture as they are just random results of your cholesterol level which changes
all the time during the day.
So this question should be treated with
certain flexibility and intelligence.

Lets exaggerate a little bit

Lets examine a person who consumes cholesterol rich food in a so-called excessive
way.
Bacon & eggs, sausages, salamis, fatty
meats, cracklings etc.
He consumes much more cholesterol than
his body would produce for him.
We have already seen that our body registers
the level of consumed cholesterol and it adjusts itself to that level.
But what happens when we consume
much more than we would need for providing a rich supply of this essential material?
Lets look for a person like that.
Does he put himself and his life to risk?
I still remember those facts I studied for internal medicine.

36

37

What will the increased level of cholesterol

be when someone has a diet rich in fat and
cholesterol? Will it be doubled? Or more?

That is exactly what it

means!

According to the medical textbook1, weekslong diet rich in fat and cholesterol causes
only a 10 or maximum 15% of increase of
the cholesterol level.

Nature has taken care of us very wisely.

This change is almost negligible.

Experts say this level of increase doesnt even
exceed the margin of error which is the possible difference derives from the imperfect
measurements.
One thing is for sure. Even in that case there
will be no concentrated fat running in our
veins.

The theory of evolution has been taught by

the same science which now generously tries
not to take notice of it.
According to the theory of evolution those
species which wouldnt be able to learn to live
under certain circumstances, have become
extinct.

So does this mean that even consuming excessive amount of cholesterol wouldnt result
in our body collapsing?

Did you know that cholesterol related diseases have multiplied only in the last few decades?
Previously, these cholesterol-related
symptoms were found more rarely whilst
people consumed much more cholesterol
due to their natural nutrition.

1. Magyar-Petrnyi: Introduction to internal medicine (1986)

1. Evolution: the growth and development of species in

the past and now; derives from the Latin word evolutum
which means unfold, roll out

38

39

I find it hard to believe that the human body

would have become incapable of dealing with
cholesterol suddenly, in the last few decades.
The truth is actually the contrary.
1. Our body is capable for perfect functioning even when our nutrition doesnt include
1 gram of cholesterol because our body is
able to produce it for itself.
2. If we consume cholesterol with our food,
then our body will proportionally reduce the
production of cholesterol.
3. In case we consume much more than the
efficient amount, our body is capable to get
rid of the occasional excess amount.
Lets see in what ways.

What ways?
Our liver simply filters our blood and removes
the excess cholesterol and puts it into the bile
which is produced by our liver.
Then the bile together with the cholesterol
evacuate to the duodenum, which is a bile
section after the stomach.
The medical textbook1 writes the following:
Bile formation and biliation are the main
ways for removal of cholesterol from the
body.
Then it claims:
Bile contains considerable level of cholesterol.
By the way!
Cholesterol has gotten its name from it.
Chole is derived from the Greek khol, which
means bile.
1. Ferenc Guba: Medical biochemistry (1988)

40

41

The reason is simple. For the first time this material was found in a living bodys bile, and in
relatively high level.
Sterol is simply a name from chemists and
means a certain chemical structural type of
fats.
So chole-sterol is basically a certain structural type of fat first found in bile.
We could simply call it bile fat.

Do we need to eat fat?

So the excess cholesterol leaves with the
bile.
When?
The bile evacuates to the duodenum if the
food we consume contains sufficient
amount of fat.
So our regular fatty meals will actually help
our bodies to get rid of the excess amount of
cholesterol.
Heres a quote from another medical textbook1:
The strongest stimulus for evacuating
the bile is fats and oils accessing the duodenum.
How wise Nature is!

1. Pter Blint: Medical physiology (1986)

42

43

Above facts also indicate that a low-fat

diet, which is so popular these days, actually prevents the regular evacuation of
bile which causes bile stagnation and
consequently cholesterol stagnation.
So we can say that a low-fat diet could
destroy the effectiveness of cholesterol
removal mechanism created by Nature
most effectively.

Always losing it
Our blood is constantly losing cholesterol because it is being used.
One proportion of cholesterol will become Vitamin D whilst another proportion will become
sex and stress hormones.
Our cells also constantly need to keep their
membranes intact.
Our nervous system also feasts on it.
And you might remember that 10% of the dry
part of our brain consists of cholesterol.
So its not a coincidence that our body constantly produces cholesterol taking our
nutrition and its consequences into consideration.
If it wasnt the case we would soon end up in
the intensive care unit.
We constantly need new supplies.

44

45

It is most important for you to know that

above mentioned list is only 10% what we
actually use cholesterol for.

The remaining 90%

The internal medicine textbook1 shows us a
really interesting experiment.
Large amount of cholesterol were injected
to peoples blood. The particular cholesterol
used for the experiment was tagged so it
could be followed in the body.
They found that the majority of our cholesterol, approximately 90% is soon withdrawn from our blood by our liver and it
is transformed into bile acid.
Bile acids are particularly useful materials.
There is no healthy digestion without them.
So majority of our consumed or produced
cholesterol is transformed into bile acids, materials helping our digestion. This transformation happens in a really short time.

1. Magyar-Petrnyi: Introduction to internal medicine (1986)

46

47

The cholesterol transformed into bile acid gets

to the bile produced by the liver and finally
evacuates into the duodenum. And its there
where it exerts its beneficial effects.

According to this
According to this information the sufficient
level of cholesterol is essential for our healthy
digestion.
In this case I would like to add to my previous list.
I dont believe that the so-called cholesterol
lowering drugs wouldnt have harmful effect
on our digestion.

48

49

Ten times more

Lets come back for a minute to the fact that
in a short time our body transforms 90%
of our cholesterol to bile acids.
The measuring instruments couldnt register
that 90% which are transformed into bile acids, only the remainder 10%.
So what are they actually trying to scare
us with?
After all, our body deals with ten times more
cholesterol every single day whilst others
make a big fuss about the remainder amount.
Lets imagine the following scenario: our body
is like a porter who packs 100 heavy suitcases every day. That would be 100%.
He moves 90 of them in the shape of cholesterol transformed into bile acids and 10 of
them as pure cholesterol.

50

Our medical instruments can only detect the

suitcases shaped as pure cholesterol. Only 10
out of 100.
So our porter moves 90 suitcases in a way
we dont even see so we leave it out of consideration.
We only observe the movement of 10 suitcases.
So it seems that our porter only works with 10
suitcases a day.
We worry about the fact that it might be too
much for him to move 11, 12 or God forbid
13 suitcases, compared to his normal 10?
We start racking our brains whether or not we
should reduce the number of suitcases to 9, 8
or 7 to be considerate?
Whilst hes already moved 90.
Easily, as part of his daily routine.
Without us taking notice of his work.
Do you understand how funny this is?

51

Our body easily deals with a large amount

of cholesterol.
As a juggler.
With at least ten times more than the official
theory takes into account.
So what is the big fuss about cholesterol?
Too much hassle for nothing?

Not exactly for nothing

According to market data, cholesterol lowering drugs are the second best selling products in chemistries.
They mean big business for pharmaceutical
companies to distribute them in as wide range
as possible.
Business so big that most of us wouldnt
even dare to dream about.

52

53

The more people take the

drugs

So what happened was that a committee had

a meeting and the next day an additional 7
million perfectly healthy Americans suddenly
became patients who needed treatment.

the bigger the business.

There was a big scandal in the USA in
2004.
Quote from Gbor Szendi a determined researcher of the area:

Thats how you produce a lot of sick people

with the stroke of a pen.
You dont even need to pour some kind of
poison to the water or spread some dangerous virus among the population.
The stroke of a pen, thats all you need.

There was this huge scandal in 2004 in the

USA when the committee which decide of
the guidelines of the national cholesterol level
program, has reduced the healthy level of
cholesterol consequently making 7 million
more Americans to start taking statins1 to
live a longer life.

The beauty of this case was the following,

again quoting Gbor Szendi:
However, it soon turned out that 8 experts
of the 9-member committee had financial
connection with pharmaceutical companies
manufacturing statins.

1. Statin: the chemical name of the class of drugs used to

lower cholesterol level

54

55

When everyone takes

them

They claim that at the current level 90 per

cent of people aged over 50 could be declared high-risk patients and ordered to
take drugs.

thats the best business.

This piece of news were taken over from BBC
News by Informed, a medicine-related website which purpose would be:
to provide professional, valid information,
written or verified by doctors.
Lets see:
Dont panic!
A lot of people unnecessarily take cholesterol lowering drugs.
Two doctors protested:

The two doctors expressed their concerns

that people shouldnt take drugs if they dont
belong to the high risk cardiac patient group
as it is unnecessary, costly and also has undesirable side-effects.
According to the new threshold 76 per
cent of Norwegian people would be in
the high risk group, including half of people
aged 24.
Despite the fact that the average life expectancy is 78.9 years in Norway.
(March 2005)

The European Cardiologists Association

have determined the threshold of cholesterol level too low which might have the
consequence of healthy people unnecessarily
taking drugs.

The process is so obvious, even doctors

highly disapprove of it.

56

57

Who should get cholesterol

lowering drugs?

except for those patients who suffer from

very high risk and imminently threatening coronary diseases.

The Journal of the American Medical Association1 published in my opinion a most

significant article about cholesterol lowering
drugs on 3 January 1996.
Ill reveal the title of the article in the next
chapter.

So the message from the scientists is that

there is a need to significantly limit the
number of patients who should be treated
with cholesterol lowering drugs.

Ill quote the summary of the warning from the

authors:
Based on the results of animal research,
treatment with lipid lowering drugs, especially
fibrates2 and statins3, ought to be avoided,
1. American Medical Association: one of the largest
American medical publication; JAMA
2. Fibrates: Bezalip, Fenobrat, Fenofibrate, Feno-Micro,
Fenoswiss, Innogem, Lipanor, Lipanthyl, Lipidil, Lipidil
Supra, Minilip stb.
3. Statins: Andever, Atorgamma, Atoris, Atorvanorm,
Atorvastatin, Atorva-Teva, Atorvox, Atosener, Awestatin,
Bombazol, Copator, Crestor, Decholest, Delipid, Dislipat,

Fluvastatin, Gletor, Haepcard, Hypolip, Lescol, Lipitifi,

Liprimar, Lochol, Lopamol, Lovastatin, Luvinsta, Mertenil,
Mevacor, Minicol, Nikron, Obradon, Pharmastatin, Prastin,
Pravastar, Pravastatin Pliva, Pravator, Protegis, Rosutec, Rosuvastatin, Roxera, Selcol, Sicor, Simvacol, Simvagamma,
Simvalip, Simvastatin, Simvep, Simvor, Sortis, Statonex,
Stipatin, Stoplip, Tatinere, Torvacard, Torvalipin, Torvatec,
Vasilip, Visacor, Voredanin, Xeter, Zavixin, Zocor stb.

58

59

It would be just fair

It would be just fair and honest that the marketing materials related to cholesterol include
this above information.
The title of above mentioned scientific article
was this:

I believe it would be just fair that everyone

treated with these drugs, should be able to
receive adequate information of the risks.

Carcinogenicity of Lipid-Lowering Drugs

It was proven that the cholesterol lowering
drugs belonging to the groups of fibrates and
statins, caused cancer in the laboratory animals.
The article also claims that the tests, which
would be able to safely rule out the carcinogenic effect of these drugs on human, were
actually never taken.
It is not a coincidence that the authors
warned us to be extra cautious.

amount of cholesterol than what the officials calculate with.
++The aggressive reduction of cholesterol
level could be extremely dangerous.
++Cholesterol lowering drugs actually prevent
the natural production of cholesterol, so
it would be more appropriate to call them
preventers of cholesterol production.

63

++Much more people are treated with cholesterol lowering drugs than it would be necessary.
++Distribution of cholesterol lowering drugs
makes serious profit for pharmaceutical
companies.
++Results of researches concerning the carcinogenic effect of cholesterol lowering drugs
are kept in secret.
++Low cholesterol level doesnt mean protection against cholesterol-related diseases.
++The low-fat diet advertised for decades
and the treatments of several hundred million people with cholesterol lowering drugs
havent produced the rightfully expected
results.

The proof of the pudding is

in the eating
I have a few important questions:
Why couldnt we conquer cholesterol in this
decades-long desperate battle?
Why is that that the number of cholesterolrelated diseases (arteriosclerosis, heart attack, and stroke) hasnt been decreased significantly?
Why havent we become healthier?
Was it worth eating low-fat milk, cream, sour
cream, cheese or avoiding consuming fatty
meat and eggs?
Has it proved to be useful taking cholesterol lowering drugs?

64

65

In a nutshell: Why isnt there any convincing result backing up the validity of the
official approach?
Have you seen or heard any enthusiastic report from someone whose condition significantly improved?
Or quite the contrary?
Have the number and frequency of cholesterol-related diseases increased?
I think you know the answer for this last
question.

Back then
I must admit, back then as a just graduated
young doctor, I accepted the official theory
without doubts.
I considered it as unquestionable and scientifically proven.
It was obvious for me that everything I was
taught was true.
I havent even thought about questioning the
results.
It is simple though.
If there are no convincing results, there is
something wrong with the official theory.
So I started to examine particular elements of
the official theory in details.
Obviously, based on scientific facts.
The more research I did, the more scientific
facts I found which raised the gruesome
feeling in me that the official theory is nothing else but an inveterate, harmful dogma.

66

67

The theory of receptors 1.

Why does cholesterol cause arteriosclerosis?
Ill introduce to you the official theory.
The theory of receptors.
Dont be afraid of the strange word. In our
case receptor basically means porter. Like a
receptionist.
Someone receiving and recognising the
guests at the door and letting through only
those who are allowed to get in.

One of the most important tasks for the cell

membrane is to decide who it lets in to the
cell.
Nature has solved this issue with the receptors
or receptionists which are small organisms
built in the cell membranes on the surface of
cells and they are specialised in recognising
and admitting only certain type of materials.
There are a lot of receptors in a cell membrane as all of them recognise and admit only
certain materials.

The word receptor derives from the Latin receptum, which means admit, receive.
One of the most important parts of our cells is
the versatile and intelligent cell membrane.
Our cells take nutrients, essential for their
functioning, through the cell membrane, and
they also use it for the removal of the unnecessary roughage produced by their life processes.

68

69

The theory of receptors 2.

The largest amount of cholesterol needed for
our life processes are produced by our liver
and small intestines.
Mainly these organs provide cholesterol for
our body.
The produced amount is admitted to our
blood then our blood delivers it to every single
cell of our body.
According to medical science, the tiny cholesterol receptors the helpful receptionists
sit in the cell membranes and help cholesterols to be admitted to the cells.

As a consequence, our cells are not able to

admit the produced or consumed cholesterol
delivered by our blood so it gets stuck in our
blood and thus its level increases.
There will be too much cholesterol in our
blood and it will be deposited in the veins.
After time, calcium will be piled up in the deposited cholesterol and this constantly growing swelling will make the vein narrower which
reduces the blood supply of the area.
As a solution, it seems unavoidable to follow
a low-cholesterol diet and to take cholesterol
lowering drugs which prevent the natural production of cholesterol.

The theory of receptors claim:

One has high cholesterol level because the
cholesterol receptors are either completely
missing or their numbers are significantly
decreased.

70

For the first glance, its a rather appealing theory.

71

I have a few comments 1.

If our cells really didnt receive the essential
cholesterol as it is stuck in the blood serious consequences would occur in a very
short time.
In days the production of Vitamin D, sex and
stress hormones would cease.

I believe if this theory was true, relatives would

have accompanied people to their last journeys years before the first signs of arteriosclerosis appeared.
This nonsense condition that our cells are not
able to admit cholesterols cannot be survived for more than a few weeks.

In days the intactness of the cell membranes would be damaged causing the rapid
collapse of the whole body.
Probably it would happen before the occurrence of serious nervous system deficiencies which are unavoidable in a case like this.
Due to the damage of our brain, we wouldnt
even have the chance to think about the deterioration of our digestion.

72

73

I have a few comments 2.

If our cells werent able to admit cholesterol
from the blood flow, it would mean that the
blood cholesterol level would be increasing
day after day.
As cholesterol would be produced only
but not used.
Quote from one of the medical textbook1:
As a consequence [] cholesterol doesnt
get admitted to the cell and thus couldnt
have a regulator effect (that is to decrease
production) and this way cholesterol synthesis (cholesterol production) will settle.
Furthermore, we also eat from it.

If there is no outflow hole, then the water level

will be higher and higher in the barrel.
It wont stop half way.
It will rise and rise and rise.
Until the barrel is filled up with water.
If the receptor deficiency theory was true then
the cholesterol level of people, suffering
from this condition, should have been rising constantly.
At blood tests, the cholesterol level should be
higher and higher every day.
In time, as cholesterol would spread, there
would be nothing else in the veins of
these patients but cholesterol.

Lets see an ordinary example.

Imagine a barrel without an outflow hole and
that water is slowly but constantly flowing into
it.

1. Ferenc Guba: Medical biochemistry (1988)

74

75

I have a few comments 3.

I have a few comments 4.

If the theory was true and arteriosclerosis

is caused by cholesterol accumulating in
the blood and then deposited there, then it
wouldnt be possible for people with normal
cholesterol level to suffer from it.

If cholesterol is deposited in the veins because its blood level is more than it should
be, than this process should take place at
every point in the vascular system.

But arteriosclerosis does develop in people with normal cholesterol level.

Particularly in points where the blood flow is

significantly slower.
After all, a river also deposits its alluvium
where the current is the slowest.
So arteriosclerosis mostly should take
place in the slow-flowing veins and capillary vessels.
But quite the contrary!
It occurs in fastest flowing parts, in the arteries.
Besides, even there it doesnt occur evenly
but only in certain designated points.

76

77

However this phenomenon couldnt be explained with the official and widely accepted
theory of cholesterol receptors deficiency.

I have a few comments 5.

But this is the truth.

Lets suppose that the official theory of cholesterol receptors deficiency is correct.
Lets start from this assumption.

Arteriosclerosis only occurs in arteries

and only occurs in certain parts of the
arteries.

If the theory was true then preventing the

production of cholesterol is much more
harmful than useful.
Why?
Because if the cells really werent able to
admit cholesterol from the blood then they
would be starving.
This starvation would be a very dangerous condition and couldnt be maintained
for long.
If the theory of receptors deficiency was assumed to be true, then somehow it should
be achieved that cells would be able to
admit the essential material of cholesterol
from the blood.

78

79

Because we know that we couldnt live without them for too long.
Lets take a child as an example who doesnt
eat enough despite the fact that there is a
well-laid table in front of him with plenty of
food on it.
But he has no appetite and doesnt eat.
In this case a sensible parent is not concerned
that there will be too much food left on the table but will worry about the child who wouldnt
get the essential nutrition for his development.
Therefore the solution is not to reduce the
amount of food available for the child but
rather treat the cause of the lack of appetite.
As the problem wasnt the fact that there
was too much food on the table but the
fact that the child wouldnt eat anything.

I would be thinking the

same
If we wanted to achieve that the cells would
be able to somehow admit the essential cholesterol, then a treatment like this would be
sensible. It would be like a therapy.
However, if we added to the cholesterol
starvation of the cells with unnaturally
preventing the cholesterol production
of the body, we would create a serious
condition.
You see, as long as the blood cholesterol level
is higher, at least there is a chance that despite the smaller number of receptors that is
the receptionists assisting in the admission ,
sufficient amount of cholesterol can be admitted to the cells.
If however, we lower the cholesterol level,
there is no chance left. The cells become
more defenceless and frail.

80

81

At least thats what I would be thinking if I

represented the official theory of cholesterol receptors deficiency.

I have a few comments 6.

It is possible that there are some people
whom this theory applies to.
But this reason could only be a serious genetic condition.
The gene1 which is responsible for producing the material of receptor would be either
missing or deficient. Therefore there are not
enough receptors produced which would admit cholesterol to our body.
A gene deficiency like this affects one in every
100 thousand people.
1 in every 100 thousand.
10 in every 1 million.
100 in every 10 million.
1. Gene: Molecular unit of heredity, a stretch of DNA containing a code needed for a certain type of material. DNA
is a series of codes

82

83

One thing is sure: its not possible that

76% of the population has a genetic deficiency. (Note the chapter on Norway page
58).
If the majority of the population had a genetic
deficiency, then humanity would have become extinct ages ago.
For me, the realistic proportion is 1 in every
100 thousand.
100 in every 10 million.

Just in case
Certainly, in these cases a confirming examination should be taken to make sure that
there is a genetic deficiency.
Just in case.
Without an examination, it would be barbarism to expose people whose condition is
presumed to a life-long and potentially very
dangerous treatment.

If there was only a 100 or God forbid a

few hundred people who were supposed to
follow a low-cholesterol diet and be treated
with reference to the theory of the receptor
deficiency, I wouldnt have written this book.

I would be extremely cautious to start a treatment which carcinogenic effect has been
proven on laboratory animals but its harmlessness on people hasnt.

84

85

It is possible though

It is unacceptable for me

It is possible that I would still have written this

book even if the treatment of using cholesterol
lowering drugs had affected only a hundred or
a few hundred people in every 10 million.

I think my next comment is not going surprise

you:
The official theory of cholesterol receptor deficiency, particularly promoted by the
pharmaceutical companies, is unacceptable
for me.

Because I believe that even the unnatural prevention of cholesterol production

wouldnt help them.

I do believe that taking cholesterol lowering

drugs would do more harm than use in their
cases too.

If it was true, then:

should be deposited in every
vein with particular evenness.
++Particularly in those veins in which the blood
flow is slower (veins, capillary vessels)
++People with low or normal cholesterol level
shouldnt have arteriosclerosis.
++People with receptor deficiency should
have a constantly increasing cholesterol
level.
++Due to the general cholesterol starvation
of the body, there should be serious symptoms developed way before the development of arteriosclerosis.
++People with these symptoms would die
before the development of arteriosclerosis.

86

87

The only treatment that would help them is

assisting or restoring the ability of their cells to
admit cholesterol.
Their problem is not the fact that they
produce too much cholesterol but their
inability to use the produced amount.
They suffer from their cells not getting sufficient amount of cholesterol.

++Cholesterol

++Such

a serious abnormality would affect

approximately one in every 100 thousand
people or 100 people of a 10 million population.
++If this abnormality would affect the same
number of people than the current number
of people treated with cholesterol lowering
drugs, then humanity would have become
extinct ages ago.
++It would have been possible to achieve a
breakthrough in treating cholesterol-related
problems ages ago.
And even if the official theory was correct, even then the solution wouldnt be
the unnatural prevention of cholesterol
production but rather assisting the cells
to somehow admit cholesterol.

Despite the number of

theories
Heres an abstract from a pharmacological
textbook1:
The development of arteriosclerosis,
its exact pathomechanism2 is still not
known despite the number of theories
and intensive researches.
I would like to emphasise that this sentence
can be read in an official textbook of pharmacology.
It is worthwhile for you to know that medical
researches require considerable financial assistance.

1. Edited by Jozsef Knoll: Pharmacology university textbook

(1990)
2. Pathomechanism: The mechanism by which a pathological condition occurs.

88

89

It is also worthwhile for you to know that nowadays there are very few independent research institutions left as most researches
are directly or indirectly financed by the pharmaceutical industry.
The industry, however, needs fast results.
Results which assist them to make profit.

They are desperate to make everyone believe

that they have found the right path and the
best solution.
Which is none other than the fact that
people should take cholesterol lowering
drugs.

Results which could quickly lead to the

mass production of drugs and consequently
provide significant income and profit expected by investors.
Thus the pharmaceutical industry invests in
researches that indicate that they would get
their money back fairly quickly.
And that is the reason why they ignore warnings like the one just you read from an official
medicine textbook.

90

91

Point of interest
On 1st January 1990, the Hungarian National Institute of Pharmacy gave permission for the distribution of a cholesterol lowering drug (belonged to the group of statins)
called Mevacor (This same medicine was on
the pharmacy shelves from 1987 in the US).

So the medicine of the disease with an

unknown origin could start its conquering journey.
With the help of government funding.

Its interesting that the quote from the last

chapter was also originated from 1990:
The development of arteriosclerosis, its exact pathomechanism is still not known despite the number of theories and intensive
researches.
It seems that the official curriculum didnt create much difficulty in the authorisation process. The above thesis was taught in 1990
and even after that.

92

93

Invasion

Way out of the maze

We can ascertain that the use of these drugs

have become a general and routine habit.

Fortunately there is a way out of the

maze.

In spite of the official curriculum.

Following the warning in the medicine textbook I just quoted, the author also writes
about the areas which were thoroughly examined in order to find the cause of the arteriosclerosis.

In spite of the expert warning that practitioners should narrow down the number of patients treated with these drugs.
In spite of the incomplete safety tests.
In spite of the unclarified carcinogenic effects.
In spite of the fact that the necessity and
usefulness of cholesterol lowering drugs have
never been scientifically proved.
Indeed!

They did examine a lot of areas but they

couldnt find the answer.
It also turns out that there was something they have never examined.
It is something that definitely should have
been examined however they did ignore the
most important data concerning arteriosclerosis.
Let me introduce to you this data.

94

95

The most important though

ignored data
Yes, arteriosclerosis does really exist.
Yes, there is larger amount of cholesterol can
be found in the calcified veins.
We would still need to find an explanation
though for the fact that cholesterol accumulates in the arteries. Why there?
And for the fact that anyone could have arteriosclerosis, regardless the level of cholesterol
in their blood. Why?

The most important but ignored data is

the following:
The deposit of cholesterol must be preceded by the damage of the artery!!!
Yes, with three exclamation points!
Because if we understand this ignored data,
well immediately find our way out of the
maze.
This data, however, has never been the
subject of an examination before.

Dr. Matthias Rath German researchers experiments and discoveries have contributed
in a great extent to understand this mysterious question.
Studying Dr. Raths papers helped me a lot to
get the full picture.

96

97

Arteries are prone to

damage
When our heart contracts, it presses blood to
the arteries with great strength.
When that happens, the arteries greatly
expand.
This expansion is so great that we could easily
feel it with our fingers. Just place your fingers
on your wrist from your palm side.
The artery is beating.
It expands then contracts. It expands
then contracts.
This beat is called the pulse1.
The artery expands and contacts the same
amount of time as our heart contracts or
pumps.
On average, 70 times a minute.
4200 times in an hour.
More than 100 thousand times in a day.
1. Pulse: derived from the Latin pulsus, meaning beating

98

More than 3 million times in a month.

Close to 37 million times in a year.
Close to 400 million times up to our 10th
birthday.
Arteries work extremely hard.
All arteries work really hard but probably the
arteries closest to the heart; the coronary arteries have the hardest job.
It is not a coincidence that the most frequent
problem is the coronary sclerosis which is the
predecessor of a heart attack.
The life of veins and capillary vessels is a big
vacation compared to that.
The arteries are more prone to damage because of the extreme pressure on them.
The deposition of cholesterol is preceded by
the damage of a vein, every time.
What does it depend on that the arteries
are able to take the pressure or get damaged?

99

Flexible and strong

Nature as its nature provided an excellent
solution.
The frame of our body is built up from an
essential special kind of protein, invisible
to the eye.
This material is extremely strong, almost
unbreakable and really flexible.
An excellent solution.
This material which also enmeshes the walls
of our veins is called collagen.

The collagen threads are so strong that a

1-millimetre diameter collagen fibre is able
to hold the weight of 40 kilograms.
If it has good quality.
A 3-millimetres diameter collagen thread is
able to hold the weight of a robust 120-kilogram man.
If the quality of the collagen is really good.
You can guess that if this material is such an
essential building material, well need a significant amount of it to stay healthy.
In the body of a 70-kilograms adult, there is
approximately 12-13 kilogram of protein.

This same material can also be found in

large proportions in the cartilages, tendons and bands of the joints which also
have great pressure on.
It also makes sure that our skin is flexible.
Also, the solid materials of our bones and
teeth are deposited to the gaps of the collagen mesh. Thats how our bones and teeth
become strong and flexible at the same time.

Of this amount, at least 30-40% is this special protein, the collagen.

It means that in the body of a 70-kilogram
person there should be at least 3.6-5.2 kilogram of collagen.

100

101

Everything you need to know about the general role of collagen can be found in one of
my other books, called Beauty and collagen.

Heavy-duty
Its very simple.
Our veins are able to do the hard work
in direct proportion to the quantity and
quality of collagen found in them.
There are two main conditions:
1. There has to be enough collagen.
2. The collagen has to be in excellent condition.
The collagen mesh interweaves the wall
of the veins.
At least 14% of the material of the arteries is collagen.
It provides extreme flexibility to the material of
the arteries and it also makes sure that the vein
doesnt expand more than it would be safe.
If the quantity and quality of collagen is
insufficient then the arteries wont be able to
take the extreme pressure for long and would
be damaged soon.

102

103

The weaker wall of the arteries overexpands and cracks appear in the veins.
The cracks will appear particularly in those areas where the arteries have the most pressure
on. Like the coronary arteries.
So this is the missing link.
We have already known that the deposition
of the cholesterol must be preceded by the
damage of the veins.
Veins, especially arteries are more prone to
damage if there is less or worse quality of
collagen in their walls than they would need
to have to be more heavy duty.

Its a unique task

Its not surprising that collagen has to have
a special composition in order to do its
unique task.
Its important for the collagen to be
strong and flexible at the same time.
It also has to be extremely resistant.
The composition of the collagen is very unique
and special.
In order to fulfil its duty, it has to be kept
fresh at all times.
Otherwise, even this really strong thread
grows tired and loses from its strength and
flexibility.

Now the only thing we would need to know is

the cause of the decrease of quantity and
quality.

However, Nature has provided a solution for

this problem too.
The life span of the collagen threads
under normal circumstances is not longer than a few weeks.

104

105

After that period they disintegrate and our

body builds new, fresh threads ready to work.
It prevents the collagen mesh to become
aged.
This way the threads only need to bear
the extreme pressure for a few weeks.

To keep it fresh 1.
To be able to constantly change the collagen
for fresh ones, we basically need two things.
One of them:
As a consequence of the unique composition,
it is advantageous to consume sufficient
amount of food rich in collagen. For example: knuckle of ham, roast, chicken with
the skin, cracklings, fatty meats etc.
The popularity of low-fat and cholesterol diet
have basically ruled out these kinds of food,
although they are rich in collagen.
Still, this is the smaller problem.
Our body is able to produce the materials
needed to build collagen even if we dont provide them for it.
We would make it easier for our body if we
helped it to get them in the first place but it is
not an essential condition.

106

107

To keep it fresh 2.
The other one:
The more important one!
We have known it for quite a while that sufficient amount of collagen is only produced
when our body receives enough Vitamin C.
What is even more important to know is that
the collagen becomes perfect, excellent
quality, really unbreakable and flexible
when and if our body get enough Vitamin C.
Producing collagen is a process which needs
a lot of Vitamin C.

Our need is at least 30-50 milligrams of

Vitamin C for every kilogram of weight.
For a 50-kilogram person:
50 30-50=1500-2500 milligrams, that is 1.52.5 grams.
For a 70-kilogram person:
70 30-50=2100-3500 milligrams, that is 2.13.5 grams.
For a 100-kilogram person:
100 30-50=3000-5000 milligrams, that is
3-5 grams.
At least.
Every single day.

How much Vitamin C we need depends on

the individual and their lifestyle. For example,
smoking draws away a lot of Vitamin C from
the important life processes.
However, I can give you some useful information which can be applied to anyone.

108

109

Dr. Matthias Rath

So the process of producing collagen requires
a lot of Vitamin C.
Unfortunately, we, humans are not able to
produce Vitamin C for ourselves so we completely have to rely on the amount we consume.
Dr. Matthias Raths thoughts on the subject:
I realised that cardiac and circulatory diseases are basically unknown among animals
whereas they are the most frequent causes of
death among humans.

The more the Vitamin C, the more the collagen, the more stable are the walls of veins
and the less are the heart attacks.
Animals suffer heart attacks so rarely because they are able to produce sufficient
amount of Vitamin C.
We, humans are not able to produce
molecules of this vitamin; furthermore our
diet typically contains less than enough vitamins; therefore our vascular system loses its
strength and deposition could develop.

The next discovery is groundbreaking for

natural health in the whole world: animals
are able to produce Vitamin C in their bodies
which they need for producing collagen that
is molecules strengthening the resistance of
their body and vascular system.

110

111

Compared to this
So we would need at least 30-50 milligrams
of Vitamin C for every kilogram of our weight.
Every single day.
Compared to this, according to the official
data, we consume only 80 milligram of Vitamin C altogether a day. Even those people
who regularly eat fruit and vegetables.

That is the consequence of us not providing

the necessary conditions for a constant renewal of collagen.
The faster ageing veins become sensitive and
prone to damage and open the door to vein
damages and consequently deposition of
cholesterol and later arteriosclerosis.
Regardless of our cholesterol level!

This, however, provides only 5% of the minimum amount (1500 mg) of what a 50-kilogram person would need a day for staying
healthy.

Im not saying that Vitamin C deficiency is the

only cause of arteriosclerosis but I do believe
that it is the leading cause of this undesirable
change.

No wonder that our joints, tendons, bones,

teeth, skin and veins age in an accelerated
speed, twice as fast as it would be normal.
Compared to what? Compared to our abilities
encoded in our genes.

Other factors also play crucial roles such as

Vitamin E deficiency which has a serious affect
on all of us. You can find more details about
this and other factors in my other books.
But I do strongly believe that the most important of all is the Vitamin C deficiency!

An excessively accelerated ageing!

112

113

Scurvy

This phenomenon is called scurvy.

There is a lowest level of Vitamin C deficiency under which everything just collapse.

This is the condition when the level of available

Vitamin C has fallen to so low that maintaining
the collagen stock becomes impossible and it
simply falls apart.

Under this level the amount of Vitamin C we

have is so low that our body is not able to
produce collagen any more.
In this case the collagen stock excessively ages, falls apart and its cohesive
power stops working.
This is a serious problem because the collagen threads constitute the essential frame of
the body which is invisible to the eyes.
The most obvious sign of this collagen collapse when the weakened veins break one
after the other and first smaller than gradually larger haemorrhages appear on the body.
In the fast process the walls of the veins simply disintegrate until the haemorrhages reach
a life-threatening level.

114

115

Latent scurvy

That is the reason why scurvy was called

sailor disease.

How much is it?

It seems that consuming the daily amount of
60 milligrams of Vitamin C prevents but just
prevents the collapse of our body.
With this amount we are similar to tightrope
walkers who can fall down any minute but if
we are lucky we can survive without our vascular system falling apart.

Nowadays the majority of people suffer

from latent scurvy.
One of the signs of the latent scurvy is the
damage of the veins and consequently the
development of arteriosclerosis.

Unfortunately, those sailors didnt survive who

ages ago went to long journeys but forgot to
take any fruits.
Because the once built up collagen stock is
only able to function for a few weeks, then it
starts deteriorating quite quickly.
As a consequence, more than 1 million sailors
died in scurvy during the long journeys between 1600 and 1800.

116

117

Ascorbic acid

Patching and mending

It is well-known that the chemical name of Vitamin C is ascorbic acid.

In Latin acidum ascorbicum.

We only patch and mend our collagen stock if

we only consume 60-80 milligram of Vitamin
C a day.
There is no real maintenance with this low
level of consumption. There is no long-term
safety.
There is only excessively accelerated ageing!

What does this name mean?

The meaning of acidum is acid.
The prefix ascorbicum very wisely refers to
scurvy.
A in a Latin compound could mean no or
there is no.
Scorbic= Scurvy
A plus Scorbic= there is no scurvy.
Ascorbic acid = acid against scurvy.
And with sufficient amount of ascorbic
acid that is Vitamin C, there really is no
scurvy.

118

Professor Albert Szent-Gyrgyi who received his Nobel Prize for his research on Vitamin C wrote the following to his Nobel Prize
winner colleague, Linus Carl Pauling in 1966:
Regarding the ascorbic acid, I have had the
feeling for a long time that the public is being
misled by the medical profession.
You see, doctors claimed that if there was no
Vitamin C in our nutrition, scurvy would appear. If however, scurvy didnt appear, everything was fine.
I believe this is a serious mistake.

119

Scurvy is not the first symptom of Vitamin C

deficiency. Scurvy is a sign for the final collapse of the body, syndrome before death and
there is an extremely wide gap between
the edges of scurvy and being healthy.

We havent fallen down

yet
The fact that we havent fallen down to the
abyss yet doesnt mean that we are fine.
We can live our whole life as a tightrope walker. Always balancing around the life-threatening line, always just a little bit above it.
The daily consumption of 60-80 milligram of
Vitamin C is just enough for that.
Its little consolation that we are just above
the level at which our veins would start falling apart.
We are really far from that state which
could be called healthy.
Anyone who have experienced bleeding from
their gums during tooth-brushing knows
even though they might not had any idea
what was that that their veins are prone to
damage.

120

121

Under a certain level of Vitamin C, the damage and falling apart of the veins will become
a reality very quickly.
If we consume more but still not enough Vitamin C, in that case the same process will happen only slower, in years, probably unnoticed.
The veins will not fall apart but get damaged.
Small cracks will start to appear.
Especially in the arteries, particularly in those
with a lot of pressures on, like the coronary
vessels.
There is a really wide gap between scurvy and being healthy.
To maintain our healthy state, we need to consume at least 30-50 milligrams of Vitamin C
for every kilograms of our weight.
Every single day.

122

The chicken or the egg? 1.

Which was first?
Well, its an easy question if we look at arteriosclerosis.
The official theory makes you think that the
high level of cholesterol itself would be
enough for the deposition of cholesterol in
the veins.
The theory states that this deposition is the
first step and consequently comes the damage of veins.
But it is not true!
If it was true, as I said before:

++Everyone with high cholesterol level should

have arteriosclerosis but thats not the
case.
++No one with normal cholesterol level should
have arteriosclerosis but unfortunately
thats not the case.

123

++Cholesterol

should be deposited in each

veins particularly in the slow flowing areas
but the reality is the contrary. It is deposited
only in certain fast flowing areas.

And as you already know the deposition of

cholesterol is always preceded by the damage of the vein. You also know the reason why
this happens in the arteries in the first place.
Lets see now how cholesterol access
the damaged parts of the veins.

Trying to mend it
If our body doesnt receive sufficient amount
of Vitamin C, then we would have less and
worse quality of collagen.
The flexibility and heavy dutiness decreases
as a consequence.
The weakness will first appear where the
pressure is increased such as the joints,
teeth, skin and naturally the arteries.
Small damages and cracks will appear in the
arteries. Our body will try to mend these damages with producing more and better quality
collagen but to do that it would need more
Vitamin C.
Since the body doesnt receive enough Vitamin C, it looks for something else.

124

125

My theory is this:

As

Cholesterol is a creamy kind of material

and is suitable for filling up and making
the cracks smooth.

As our body has used a stopgap measure,

the condition further deteriorates.
We dont have more and better collagen.
The cholesterol band aid doesnt make
the vein stronger, it only serves as a good
powder foundation. It conceals the flaws.

Thats how cholesterol gets into the

cracks. It tries to mend the problem.
Naturally it is a stopgap measure as the
real solution would be more and better collagen.

However, the vein is still weak so more and

more damage will appear.
So more cholesterol is deposited to fill up the
gaps.

But this is still better than nothing.

But the vein is still weak.
So finally our body in its desperation tries
to strengthen the weak wall of vein with bringing calcium so it might become stronger.
The poor man cooks with water (Hungarian proverb).

126

127

Without Vitamin C, the poor body tries to fix

the problem with cholesterol first and deposition of calcium next.
Naturally it can only lead to a shoddy
piece of work.

The chicken or the egg? 2.

Lets imagine an incorrectly structured
house which foundation is weak.
The walls of the house built on the weak foundation will move from their places and cracks
will appear on the walls.
The walls will look ugly, full of cracks.
We want to repaint the house.
What would be the first step?
Either tear up the foundation and build up the
whole thing again. (Which our body would be
able to do!)
Or at least fill up the cracks on the walls.
So here comes the tradie who fill in the cracks
with a special material which is soft, easy to
spread and makes them even.
Here we have our walls with no cracks but
with visible irregular streaks in the place of the
gaps which is filled with that special material.
Imagine someone who walks into this room.

128

129

Lets suppose that they dont understand the

processes, dont know what happened for
what reasons, they can only see that the walls
of the house is full of this irregular fill-in material streaks.

Dogma is born

This person who has never seen something

like this before, doesnt understand how the
fill-in material got into the wall.
They could only see that there are cracks
behind the fill-in material. They dont understand that the precedent was the cracks of
the walls.
So they settle their case as being certain of
the fact that the fill-in material is really dangerous because it obviously caused the cracks
on the walls.

We either discover the correct explanation or

in the meantime we make a presumption,
that is a theoretical possibility which seems
to be explaining that experience.

And then they make up a theory that we

should avoid the fill-in material to keep
the walls safe.

130

We are always looking for answers for

what we experience in our lives. Thats
just natural.

One of the most important characteristics of

a dogma is that an innocent presumption
becomes an absolute rule.
Without proof. From this point, however,
it couldnt be considered innocent.
How does this happen?
As time and generations pass, descendants
with the appealing presumption as inheritance, forget about the fact that originally
the theory was a presumption.
Only a presumption and not a scientifically
proven fact.

131

And they would also forget that in time, that

presumption could be proved wrong.
They would forget about it and later they
would assume that they are the protectors of
the truth.
It is even possible that they truly believe in it
with no malice at all.
But the fact remains fact.
When they forget about the presumption
that it is only a possible theoretical explanation, that theory could be turned into
dogma.

Thats how we saw it back

then
Centuries ago, with no telescopes or modern
astronomical knowledge the Earth could have
been seen as the centre of the Universe.
It appeared to be obvious that the Sun moved
around the Earth.
It could only be seen this way because there
was not enough scientific knowledge to understand the whole truth.
We shouldnt blame ourselves because we
were searching for explanation.
Nor we should blame ourselves for drawing
up a theoretical possibility which at the
time seemed to provide the right answers.
The trap opened up when with new information we werent able to admit that we were
wrong.

132

133

When scientific research proved the old presumption wrong.

And when the misconception was still
rigorously protected.

Historia est magistra vitae

According to the Latin saying history is the
teacher of life.
Studies of historians suggest that certain
power plays crucial role in the establishment
of dogmas and this power has an interest in
maintaining the ignorance of people regarding
the particular topic.
History books tell us that the reigning Church
in the Middle Age was afraid of losing its power if people were to look into other aspects of
the Universe.
For them, it was more beneficial that people
believed the Earth as the centre of the Universe and they had nowhere else to go.
So the powerful institute tied people to
this dogma: the Earth is the centre of
the Universe.

134

135

The most important words

In 1988, the most important sentence of the
presumed danger of the cholesterol in the
medical textbook started with this:

An idea which may provide explanation for

arteriosclerosis and other cholesterol related
illnesses or may not.
Back then, it was only considered to be an
idea, a presumption and later it has become
an unproved dogma.

According to the current idea

These words were the most important back
then and they have the same significance today.
According to the current idea
The textbook back then was based on the fair
rules of science and described the presumption as a footnote, separate from the other
text.
That particular cholesterol receptors deficiency theory.

136

137

Enough of the debate!

Period!
And if the explanation is only a presumption, it
could be proved right or wrong.
Regardless how appealing the theory is.
It is just a theoretical presumption not a
proved fact.
The problem is this:
This theory which was only a possible
theoretical explanation, a mere presumption, has become the binding truth which
cannot be questioned and must be accepted without doubts.

There should be a warning sign everywhere

with large red letters so everyone could see:
Watch out, mate!
It was only a presumption.
A theory.
It still is.
Watch out, dont take it for granted.
The one-time possible theoretical explanation has transformed into an unquestionable
dogma, set in stone.
It is compulsory to believe in it.
Enough of the debate! Period!

Despite the fact that the theory hasnt even

been proved.
It hasnt become an unquestionably proved
scientific fact.
It has been bleeding from a hundred wounds
as I described it here in this book.

138

139

The power
I believe that power, considered as a significant factor by historians, has played a crucial
role in this process.
In our case this is a power which has an interest in maintaining the dogma of cholesterol.
This power has pushed this idea, the
indisputable theory of cholesterol to us
and the doctors with so much force that
the one-time wise footnote in the textbook According to the current idea
have been lost completely.

This power has built up this dogma with

a lot of efforts.
It hasnt spared any energy for decades.
As they say it nowadays: it pushed it like
crazy.
For me it seems that as a consequence
this power has tied us, doctors really
tightly to this dogma: cholesterol is dangerous.

It has been pushed under the table by powerful propaganda.

Probably it doesnt even cross our mind to
question the official theory.
Because everyone has accepted it.
It must be true if everyone believes in it.

140

141

Hoping that

Even back then, I had to realise that we have

lost some of our independence.

I started to pry into this topic in 2003 that

how dangerous this power could be in terms
of our future.
The power which has interest in selling
more and more drugs.
Even then I started to make an estimation of
the arsenal lined up by the power of pharmaceutical companies and what effect they will
have on our future.

++False scientific publications

++Financially controlled doctors
++Excessive marketing campaigns
++Powerful propaganda
++And the list could go on.
In what ways this is against the fact that us,
doctors can stay free and independent?
As for us it is compulsory to represent our patients interest objectively and strictly based
on scientific facts.

142

Even back then, I had to realise that as a consequence we have also lost some of our
scientific thoughts which are supposed to
stay independent from anything.
It seemed obvious to me that even the medical courses had started to support the interests of the manufacturers and distributors of
cholesterol lowering drugs and other magic
products.
They represent their interests on a much
greater level than it would be safe and
acceptable.
You can find my detailed analysis in my book
titled Censored health on the assembly line
of the disease industry.
Hoping that the adversely directed processes can still be changed.

143

Howhg!
I remember from my chillingly exciting Indian
novels, the wise Indian finished his sentence
like this:

I could also tell you about why they dont go

public with those scientific test results which
would essentially disprove the whole idea of
lowering cholesterol level at any price.
I believe its unnecessary.

Howhg! which means something like: thats

all I wanted to say.
I didnt want to discuss this topic at a greater
length.
I would have so much more to say.
I could explain why those experiment series
were so unreliable which were done on rabbits in the 1910s and became the foundation
of the whole cholesterol myth.

If you are interested in reading the collection

of cholesterol-related scientific facts, I can
recommend to you the following reading: Gbor Szendi: Paleolithic diet, Chapter 4, The
myth of cholesterol.
I believe I have told you enough.

I could explain how they massaged statistical data later so they could back up their cholesterol theory.

144

145

Dogma or science? 2.

Eppur si muove

According to the definition, we would need to

have independent opinion to avoid thinking in
dogmas.

That is: and yet it moves.

To be precise: and yet the Earth moves.

I think I havent left any doubt what my

independent opinion is.
Everything I wrote down here, I did it for a better future.
For a better future in which the star of
common sense will shine brighter than
it does today.
As a conclusion and a goodbye, this is my
message for you:

According to legend, Galileo Galilei, the famous Italian astronomer and philosopher said
this before his death on 8 January 1642.
In the age of Galilei, the official theory or
dogma, controlled by the powerful institute of
Church, was that the Earth stayed motionless
in the centre of the Universe.
This great scientist however claimed that the
Earth moved around the Sun.

And yet it moves!

He was prosecuted for his theories. He was

spared from a death sentence mainly because of his merits and his connections, but
he was kept under house arrest for 9 years,
until his death.

146

147

I believe in the same theory about cholesterol, against the dominating official medical
dogma.
Eppur si muove
Cholesterol is not harmful.
Quite the contrary.
