APC pathway you wish to follow, because it will define your path to qualification.

The APC submission document and all the support available throughout your APC are
also found at www.rics.org/apc. If, after reading the guides, you still have questions
about the enrolment process, please contact your Membership Assessment team
apcme@rics.org that will be happy to help.

Period of membership
RICS regulations state that you can only remain a candidate of RICS for six years. If you
have not qualified as a professional member within this time, you will be contacted to
discuss your progress to RICS professional membership.

Placement student
If you have successfully completed a work placement as part of your degree please
include with your application written confirmation from your counsellor in order to use
this experience towards your APC. This will need to give the date that you started and
ended the work placement as well as confirmation that you were working within the APC
requirements.

Fees payable
All APC candidates must pay an APC subscription 1st January 31st December (2015
rate) 140
APC Enrolment Fee 352
Your application will not be complete until you have paid the appropriate fees.

How to pay
You can choose to pay by the following:

A card payment.

Bank Transfer

Those who have been notified they will be included on their employers corporate
payment scheme must still provide the full APC fees due to enable enrolment to
progress.

Please note:

Subscriptions are to be paid in full, there is no pro-rata applicable.

When enrolment takes place before 1 October you will pay the current years
subscription in full and you will then be required to pay the following years
subscription when this becomes due, on 1st January.

When enrolment takes place after 1 October, your subscription fee will cover the
period from October to December of the current year and all of the following year.

Following election to professional membership, you will be required to pay an


upgrade fee of 352 plus an Election Fee of 131

another regulatory body within the last 3 years

I have not in the last three years been subject to any insolvency proceedings or
other arrangement with creditors in respect of my debts (such as an Insolvency
Voluntary Arrangement).

If at any time RICS discovers that you have failed to disclose any of the above or that
you have provided false information it will have the right to terminate your membership
with immediate effect (with no further obligation to refund any subscription or other fees).

11. Data Protection Act


RICS is registered as a data controller under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998.
When you sign the application form, you give consent to the storage and processing of
your personal data by RICS for legitimate purposes, which shall include any purpose
ancillary to or necessary for the processing of your application for the APC/Associate
Assessment. This shall include sharing your data with assessors and using email and
applications such as Turnitin (plagiarism detection software).
RICS will use and store your personal information that is collected from you by us to
deal with your enquiry and membership requirements.
For RICS members, your personal information will be used for a) administering your
membership including sending renewals, b) sending compulsory communications such
as those relating to regulation and conduct, c) sending practice and guidance notes, d)
AGM information, e) for any other reason related to your membership and f) as outlined
in our cookie policy.
For non-members, we will use your personal information to a) deal with your enquiry, b)
supply you with information regarding an event, conference, training, products or
services as requested, c) manage your preferences and requests and d) as outlined in
our cookie policy.
In order to do this we may contact you by email, post, phone or SMS.

In providing your personal information, you agree to your personal information being
processed by other RICS offices around the world for the purposes set out in this notice,
including offices outside of the EEA in countries which are not deemed to have the same
level of protection of personal information.

us in relation to the communications described below (including by email/telephone,
where appropriate).

Member diversity privacy notice


RICS are actively monitoring the diversity of our members to ensure we have a true
understanding of those working in the profession. To do this we are collecting and
monitoring information on the age, gender, disability and ethnic origin of the
membership. As the data we are collecting is personal data it is collected and held
strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. This information will be used
purely for statistical purposes and will not be passed onto other organisations. Please
note you do not have to provide the data requested and have the right to request a copy
of the personal information RICS holds on you. If you do wish to do so or have any

The contract between RICS and its members shall be governed by and construed in all
