4. Methodology: (Content delivery & Activities)

Presentation of visuals based interactive CD.


Teacher explains the need of food.
Students read the text from CD.
Teacher asks the students
(i)Why do we need food?
(ii)Name the 5 nutrients present in our food.

Presentation of Cordova CD
Teacher explains nutrients.
Group work to make chart on different nutrients, their sources and function. Each
group is directed to present their findings.
Make slips having names of different food nutrients/food item. Put them in a
small box. Divide
the students in 4 groups. Student from each group picks up a slip and tell the
source/nutrient.
Roughage and Water

Presentation of CD. Students asked to read the related text on the CD carefully.
Teacher explains roughage and water.
Teaches divides the class in two groups. One group explains about the importance of
water and other about roughage.

Balanced Dia

Display of CD with text. Teacher explains balanced diet.


Activity: Students prepare a balanced diet menu for their breakfast, lunch and
dinner. Digestionl

Students label the digestive organs and their functions. (Hint: Use diagram on
page 12)
Junk Food and Good Eating habits

Display of Cordova CD. Teacher explains junk food and good eating habits.
Divide the class into two groups. One will prepare a list of junk food and other will
prepare a list of healthy food. Group discussion on healthy and junk food.
Students to explain good eating habits for proper digestion of food.
Cooking Food and Food Preservation

Presentation of CD. Students read the text.


Teacher explains cooking food and food preservation and asks
(i) Explain why we cook food.
(ii) List 5 ways of food preservation.
Need for Outdoor Barnes

Display of CD. Students read the text.


Teacher explains the need for outdoor games and asks
(i) Name 2 outdoor games. (ii) Importance of outdoor games.
