Introduction
Space for Sports and Arts is a new initiative aimed at improving facilities in primary schools. for dual school
and community
use, in the areas of greatest need, It will help tackle the situation, highlighted
by Ofsted,
whereby around 2,700 primary schools (14 per cent of the total) have poor facmties for phYSIcal education,
whilst 2,300 (12 per cent) do not even have a space large enough for dance and movement.
