Conversational English for Allied Engineering Professionals

Objective: To enable the clients to communicate in English effectively and more
confidently with their colleagues, customers, and other people inside and outside
their workplace.

Key Features of the Course:


Emphasizes development of listening and speaking skills through the use of
practice materials, dialogues, and activities designed for construction and
waterways engineering context.
Integrates vocabulary enrichment, cultural awareness, non-verbal
communication, functional grammar (both formal and informal), and speech
improvement drills.
Promotes reflective learning, critical thinking, and self confidence in speaking.
Uses a variety of teaching strategies, outcomes-based testing, and taskbased teaching approach and modular instruction.

Policies:
Every student is advised to:

1. Listen attentively, take down notes and raise questions for clarification.
2. SPEAK in ENGLISH
(Students/ Teachers may speak Korean whenever it would facilitate learning
or understanding)
3. Submit completely accomplished outputs on time.
(personal or on-line)
4. Write using the English Alphabet (cursive/printed)
5. Strictly follow directions; do the given homework (video watching, dialogues,
etc.)
