Identification of Learning Problem

Target Audience:
My target audience consists of teachers within the Ridge Road Elementary school. My primary
audience is open to teachers from grades 1 through 5 that have not had training on the gradebook
program, Infinite Campus. There will be at least 8 participants in the workshop.
Problem Identification:
Teachers are required to input grades into a gradebook program known as Infinite Campus. One
of the reasons that the teachers wanted to use this program is because they felt that their
gradebook system should show that some assignments should be weighted more and others. The
problem is that the teachers at Ridge Road Elementary do not feel comfortable with inputting
grades because they have not had proper training on the processes needed to feel successful with
the program. The teachers know the basics of typing in a number as their grade and taking
attendance in the program; however, they do not know the ins and outs of the program that can
be very beneficial to a teacher in the classroom. Although Infinite Campus is known as a
gradebook system, there is so much more to the program other than being a gradebook. Without
proper training, the teachers will not be able to take full advantage of the program that they are
being provided.

With any program that a teacher is required to use, it is a must that they have training to feel
successful. As teachers, we all want our students to not only feel successful but be successful,
and teachers want to feel the same way with the programs that they are asked to use in the
classroom.

Instructional Goals:

Teachers / Faculty members will be able to accurately take attendance in the Infinite Campus
Program.
Teachers / Faculty members will create assignments for each class that he or she teaches in
the Infinite Campus Program.

needed in the Infinite Campus Program.
Teachers / Faculty members will be able to maintain a parent contact log in the Infinite
Campus Program.
Teachers / Faculty members will be to post grades for progress reports and reports cards by
using the Infinite Campus Program.

Teachers / Faculty members will use the Campus Tools toolbar to summarize student
information.
Teachers / Faculty members will be able to access extra resources from SLDS to help them
include in their lessons.

6. How will you use what you have learned in this staff development?

7. What was the most useful part of this staff development? Why?

8. What was the least useful part of this staff development? Why?

9. What suggestions do you have to improve this staff development?

After the surveys and questionnaires have been completed, I will review the information
provided and look at the data. This will help me to see the reaction and thoughts of the learners
participating in the staff development. After reviewing the data from the questionnaire, I will use
the information to help me review the staff development and see where the participants believe
improvements need to be made. I will go through each suggestion and take them into
consideration; however that does not mean that each suggestion will be implemented into the
revised plan. Overall, I will use the suggestions to try to help to improve the staff development
to help the participants to be successful when they use the program independently.
