2010 to Present
Enterprise-wide responsibility for the IT strategy and operations of $150 MM 501(3)c Continuing Care
Retirement Community organization, supporting 2000 users across 12 facilities in 4 states. Brought in to
turn around a technology environment that was obsolete and hindering growth.
Designed and implemented a comprehensive technology refresh that encompassed all hardware
at all facilities, enterprise software, communications services, and a new VoIP phone system.
Cut 1.16M+ in capital costs, and $263K per year in operational costs while implementing a state of
the art environment. Environment improvements also cut staff overtime.
Implemented the ability to work from anywhere, anytime, on any device. Users can securely
access their Microsoft desktops on iPads will full access to network based data and applications,
as well as use the iPad to make phone calls.
Implemented a cloud based enterprise-wide Wi-Fi initiative that ROId in three months.
Implemented digital signage that leverages 7 cloud apps and is updated via iPad apps.
Automated paper based processes using on premise and cloud based apps.
Drove culture change by successfully implementing new technology capabilities.

2006 to 2010
Directed the technical strategy and activities for a $150 MM nationwide hospital alliance of 120 academic
medical centers and 307 of their affiliated hospitals representing the nation's leading academic medical
centers. Principally responsible for the 24 x 7 uptime of customer facing, high transaction, web-based
products used by member health systems.
Documented capital and operation savings exceeding $1 Million in three years while improving
uptime to 99.99+% and dramatically increasing performance.
Directed a server consolidation / virtualization project that increased performance, reliability and cut
operating costs by over $150K year.
Saved $190K of operating cost per year renegotiating data center contract.
Project managed several complex projects to on-time and on-budget success.
2004 to 2006
Planned and directed the startup of a successful new recruiting firm. Responsible for all organizational
activities, including strategic planning, securing initial and ongoing financing, developing budgets,
securing office space and services, and technology implementation. Developed and executed a strategic
business plan that guided the firm to sustainability within 9 months with a positive cash flow.
Added 3 staff within first 18 months
First year revenue exceeded first year target by $100,000.
2000 to 2003
Chicago based Hospital organization providing neuroscience, orthopedics, and rehabilitation services in
the first neuro-specific hospital in the nation. Principally responsible for all technology initiatives with P&L
responsibility. Transformed the IS Department into a profit center, instilling a business-oriented,
customer driven organizational culture. Created hosted services offerings that included the formation of
Microsoft/ Cognos/NextGen partnership that generated $360,000 annually, while serving 600+ users
across 23 locations.
Developed an award-winning secure architecture for Internet-based surgical inter-operative
monitoring using VPN technology. The solution enabled remote surgical observation by highly
specialized physicians. Ultimately, this highly successful project led to creation of US
NeuroMonitoring, a wholly owned subsidiary, which generated nearly $1 million in revenue in its
first year.
Designed and installed a new hospital data center and a complete data and voice network
infrastructure, achieving facility go-live in 16-weeks. Project activities included sourcing/selection
of vendors, design and installation of a new telecommunications and network environment, complete
data/voice wiring, and a complete Data Center build-out with all new services.
Project Manager for various projects, including three Avaya PBX installations, external clinic
technology design and implementation, and customer clinic integration with appropriate WAN
connectivity. Project work included software development, writing proposals, risk assessment,
planning, scheduling, budgeting, reporting, documentation, implementation, validation (where
necessary), and training.
Delivered $350K of operational savings through technology and process optimization and
aggressive contract negotiations.
1996 to 2000
Consulting firm specializing in design/installation of local and wide area networks, data security, firewalls,
outsourcing, staff augmentation, and high-end network analysis and troubleshooting. Reporting directly
to the CEO, I was hired to help build a new organization from the ground up. Directed strategic planning,
assumed leadership of the engineering team and business development. Formulated and implemented
a strategic business plan that positioned the company in the forefront of technology consulting. Created
efficient and disciplined internal processes and instilled a customer-centric culture.
Directed a staff of up to 26 consultants and engineers specializing in LAN/WAN and Data
security practices, working with companies ranging up to Fortune 50 in size. Served as Project
Director for many projects from design to implementation and training.
Generated new business that increased revenues over 50% annually in an intensely competitive
region. Won a multi-year consulting contract for a public utility against competition that included
the incumbent Fortune 50 Company.
