2.0 INTRODUCTION
Ingersoll Rand Nirvana Cycling refrigerated air dryer removes
moisture, oil vapor, and other contaminants from compressed air. These
contaminants are detrimental to pneumatically operated appliances,
controls, instruments, machinery and tools.
This removal is
accomplished by cooling the air with a refrigeration unit to a temperature
at which moisture in the air is condensed and separated from the air
stream. The temperature the air is cooled to, normally between 34 and
38F (1 and 3C), is known as dew point. This dryer can be easily
installed into various pneumatic systems in which dry air is required or
desired. Please refer to Principles of Operation for complete operating
details.
3.0 WARRANTY
The Company warrants that the equipment manufactured by it and
delivered hereunder will be free of defects in material and workmanship
for a period of twelve months from the date of placing the Equipment in
operation or eighteen months from the date of shipment from the factory,
whichever shall first occur. The Purchaser shall be obligated to promptly
report any failure to conform to this warranty, in writing to the Company
in said period, whereupon the Company shall, at its option, correct such
nonconformity, by suitable repair to such equipment or, furnish a
replacement part F.O.B. point of shipment, provided the Purchaser has
stored, installed, maintained and operated such Equipment in
accordance with good industry practices and has complied with specific
recommendations of the Company. Accessories or equipment furnished
by the Company, but manufactured by others, shall carry whatever
warranty the manufacturers have conveyed to the Company and which
can be passed on to the Purchaser. The Company shall not be liable for
any repairs, replacements, or adjustments to the Equipment or any costs
of labor performed by the Purchaser or others without Company's prior
written approval.
The effects of corrosion, erosion and normal wear and tear are
specifically excluded. Performance warranties are limited to those
specifically stated within the Company's proposal. Unless responsibility
for meeting such performance warranties are limited to specified tests,
the Company's obligation shall be to correct in the manner and for the
period of time provided above.

The air system consists of the dryer components which are in contact
with the compressed air. Referring to Figure 1 and following the bold
AIR FLOW, hot saturated air from the compressor enters the
precooler/reheater where the air temperature is reduced prior to
entering the chiller by the cool air exiting the air/moisture separator. This
precooling allows for the use of a smaller refrigeration system. The air
then goes into the chiller section where it is further cooled to the desired
dew point by a thermal mass fluid. The temperature of the thermal mass
fluid is maintained by the refrigeration circuit and controls. The air
continues to the separator where moisture is removed, thereby, allowing
the cool, dry air to return back to the precooler/reheater to be heated by
the incoming moist hot air. The air exiting the reheater portion of the
dryer should be approximately 15- 20F lower than the inlet air
temperature based on standard conditions at full rated flow.

7.3 MOISTURE REMOVAL SYSTEM
Ingersoll Rand condensate drains discharge condensed moisture and
lubricants (condensate) from compressed air equipment. The
condensate drain operates as a zero-air-loss drain, returning air that is
displaced in the drain bowl back into the compressed air system.
Consistent discharging of condensate from compressed air equipment
is essential for proper equipment operation and performance.
The condensate drain uses a unique sensing method to determine the
level of condensate in the drain bowl. A transducer located in the drain
bowl continuously sends out a signal 50 times per second. Once the
transducer determines that the level of condensate has reached a
predetermined level within the drain bowl, a signal is sent to the no-loss
drain valve to open. This operation permits removal of condensate of up
to 80 gallons per hour.
The drain also features a test button that permits manual operation of
the no-loss drain valve. Depressing the test button illuminates the LED
and energizes the solenoid valve. The LED illuminates to indicate
"POWER ON" and goes off when the no-loss drain valve is operated by
the transducer or manual test button.

the liquid level and passes a signal to the electronic control as soon as
the container is filled. The pilot valve is then activated and the
diaphragm opens the outlet line for discharging the condensate. When
the drain unit has been emptied, the outlet line is closed again quickly
and tightly without wasting compressed air."
7.4 REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
The Refrigeration System consists of all the components which handle
R-404A. This is a hermetically sealed closed-loop system. Referring to
Figure 1 and following the phantom REFRIG(R-404A) FLOW, refrigerant
is shown leaving the evaporator section where, in the process of
removing heat, it is changed from a low pressure liquid into a low
pressure gas. This gas enters the suction side of the compressor where
it is compressed into a high pressure gas. The high pressure gas is
cooled in the condenser section until it becomes a high pressure liquid.
It then goes through a permanent filter dryer that ensures the
refrigeration system is free of contaminants. A small diameter capillary
tube (expansion valve on water-cooled dryers) meters the refrigerant for
introduction into the evaporator. The refrigerant pressure is reduced
upon entering the evaporator where as it evaporates, removes heat from
the thermal mass fluid.
The condensate flows through the feed line into the drain unit and
accumulates in the container. A capacitive sensor continuously registers

7.6.1
7.6 CONTROLS
The Ingersoll Rand NVC200-400 Series dryers incorporate automatic
controls for proper operation. The thermal mass fluid temperature is
maintained by a microprocessor control that monitors the temperature
and cycles the refrigeration system in response to varying air flow and
temperature. Upon an increase in the temperature of the thermal mass
fluid, the refrigeration compressor is cycled on. When the fluid is cooled
to two deg.F below its control set point, the refrigerant compressor is
cycled off. The thermal mass fluid functions as a thermal storage mass
in the NVC Series dryer.
A low pressure cut out (LPCO) switch is provided for all NVC series
dryers. This switch is factory set to open at 20 psig. If the refrigerant
suction pressure draws below 20 psig, the LPCO opens to shut off the
refrigerant compressor. Once the switch has opened, it will prevent the
compressor from running until the suction pressure rises above 60 psig
and the LPCO has been manually reset.
All water cooled units come with a high pressure cut out (HPCO) switch.
This switch is set to open at 320 psig and close at 270 psig. To
compensate for water temperature variation, it may be necessary to
adjust the water regulating valve to maintain a 250 psig discharge
pressure. Adjustment can be done by rotating the adjusting screw
counterclockwise for an increase in discharge pressure. For conditions
where low water temperature and/or high water pressure are expected
it is advisable to install a water pressure regulator ahead of the
condenser.
BUTTONS
ON / OFF
Toggles the dryer operation between "On Line" and Off Line status;
Energizes glycol pump. Note that the refrigeration system will operate based
on temperature.
EXCH SET
When depressed, will display the current exchanger set point in the LCD
window. While the exchanger set point is displayed, the up and down arrows
may be used to increase or decrease the exchanger set point temperature.
ALARM RESET
Pressing once clears the local alarm indication and de-energizes the remote
alarm contact. Should the alarm condition persist, the alarm will return after
the alarm inhibit time has expired.
% SAVINGS
Depressing once changes LCD display to indicate ratio of refrigeration system
running time vs. total dryer ON time.

Toggles the LED temperature indicators between Fahrenheit and Celsius units
of measure.
+/Allows user to modify set point values. Set point values cycle through a fixed
range.
LIGHTS
LCD Display
Displays exchanger temperature during normal operation. Also used to
display exchanger temperature set point, alarm condition and timing functions.
ADJUSTMENT

Illuminated when the On/Off switch has been pressed to place the unit in
operation. The refrigerant system may start at any time when the light is on.

START MODES
The NCV200-400 dryers are capable of starting in one of the
following start modes:

Auto Restart
Should the dryer lose power while in the "On" mode, the dryer
will revert to the "On" mode once power is restored. Similarly,
should power be removed from the dryer while the dryer is in
the "Off" mode, the dryer will remain in the "Off" mode once
power is restored until the On/Off switch is depressed or the
remote switch is closed.

2.0 INTRODUCCIN
La secadora de aire refrigerante Nirvana Cycling de Ingersoll Rand
elimina la humedad, el vapor de aceite y otros contaminantes del aire
comprimido. Estos contaminantes provocan efectos adversos en los
aparatos, controles, instrumentos, mquinas y herramientas operados
neumticamente. Esta eliminacin se logra mediante el enfriamiento del
aire con una unidad de refrigeracin a una temperatura a la que la

Ingersoll-Rand Company Limited garantiza que los equipos que fabrica
y distribuye conforme a este documento estarn libres de defectos tanto
de materiales como de mano de obra, durante un perodo de doce
meses desde la fecha en que los Equipos se ponen en funcionamiento
o de dieciocho meses desde la fecha de envo desde la fbrica, lo que
suceda primero. El Comprador estar obligado a informar
oportunamente y por escrito a la Compaa de cualquier tipo de

perodo, y la Compaa corregir, a su discrecin, dicho incumplimiento
reparando el equipo en forma apropiada, o proporcionar una pieza de

Comprador haya almacenado, instalado, mantenido y operado dichos
Equipos en conformidad con las buenas prcticas industriales y haya
cumplido con las recomendaciones especficas de la Compaa. Los
accesorios o equipos que proporcione la Compaa pero que fabriquen
terceros, mantendrn cualquier garanta que los fabricantes hayan
traspasado a la Compaa y que se pueda transferir al Comprador. La
Compaa no ser responsable de reparaciones, reemplazos o ajustes
a los Equipos ni de ningn tipo de costo por mano de obra en que
incurra el Comprador u otras personas que no cuenten con la previa
autorizacin por escrito de la Compaa.
Se excluyen especficamente de esta garanta los efectos de la
corrosin, erosin y del desgaste normal. Las garantas de
cumplimiento se encuentran limitadas a las que se indican
especficamente dentro de la propuesta de la Compaa. A menos que
la responsabilidad de cumplir tales garantas de rendimiento se

7.3 SISTEMA DE ELIMINACIN DE LA HUMEDAD
Los drenajes de condensado Ingersoll Rand descargan humedad
condensada y lubricantes (condensado) de compresores de aire. El
drenaje de condensado funciona como un drenaje de cero prdida de
aire, lo que devuelve el aire que se desplaza en el recipiente de drenaje
al sistema de aire comprimido. La descarga adecuada del condensado
de los compresores de aire es esencial para el funcionamiento y
rendimiento correcto del equipo.
El drenaje de condensado usa un mtodo de deteccin exclusivo para
determinar el nivel de condensado en el recipiente de drenaje. Un
transductor que se ubica en el recipiente de drenaje enva
constantemente una seal 50 veces por segundo. Luego de que el
transductor determine que el nivel de condensado ha alcanzado un
nivel predeterminado dentro del recipiente de drenaje, se enva una
seal a la vlvula de drenaje sin prdidas para que se abra. Este
proceso permite la eliminacin de condensado en hasta 80 galones por
hora.
El drenaje tambin cuenta con un botn de prueba que permite la
operacin manual de la vlvula de drenaje sin prdidas. Al presionar el
botn de prueba se enciende el LED y se activa la vlvula solenoide. El
LED se enciende para indicar "ENCENDIDO" y se apaga cuando la
vlvula de drenaje sin prdidas se acciona mediante el transductor o el
botn de prueba manual.

Alterna el funcionamiento de la secadora entre los estados "en lnea" y "fuera
de lnea"; activa la bomba de glicol. Observe que el sistema de refrigeracin
funcionar basndose en la temperatura.
EXCH SET (Punto de referencia del intercambiador)
Cuando se presiona, mostrar el punto de referencia actual del
intercambiador en la ventana LCD. Mientras se muestre el punto de
referencia del intercambiador, las flechas hacia arriba y hacia abajo se
pueden usar para aumentar o disminuir la temperatura del punto de referencia
del intercambiador.
ALARM RESET (Reinicio de la alarma)
Si se presiona una vez, elimina la indicacin de alarma local y desactiva el
contacto de la alarma remota. Si la condicin de alarma persiste, la alarma
volver a aparecer luego de que expire el tiempo de inhibicin de la alarma.

Si se presiona una vez, cambia la visualizacin del LCD para indicar la
relacin del tiempo de funcionamiento del sistema de refrigeracin con el
tiempo de encendido total de la secadora.

El controlador indica las alarmas crticas que deben alertar al
usuario de una condicin fuera de tolerancia. Luego de que
se detecte cada condicin de alarma, se encender el
indicador LED correspondiente y se cerrar el contacto de la
alarma remota.

2.0 INTRODUCTION
Le scheur d'air frigorifique cyclique Nirvana d'Ingersoll Rand extrait
l'humidit, les vapeurs d'huile et autres contaminants de l'air comprim.
Ces contaminants peuvent compromettre le fonctionnement des
appareils, commandes, instruments, mcanismes et outils de type
pneumatique. Un dispositif frigorifique qui refroidit l'air une
temprature o l'humidit de l'air est condense puis spare du flux
3.0 GARANTIE
La socit Ingersoll Rand garantit que l'quipement fabriqu et livr par
les prsentes ne comporte aucun dfaut de matriel ou de malfaon et
ce pendant une priode de douze (12) mois partir de la date de mise
en service de l'quipement ou de dix-huit (18) mois partir de la date
de l'expdition de l'usine, selon la premire ventualit. Pour se
conformer cette garantie, l'acheteur sera tenu de signaler rapidement
et par crit la socit toute dfaillance survenue au cours de ladite
priode, aprs quoi la socit pourra soit corriger cette non-conformit
par une rparation adapte au matriel, soit fournir une pice de
rechange FAB, pourvu que l'acheteur ait stock, install, exploit et
entretenu l'quipement conformment aux pratiques acceptes de
l'industrie et qu'il ait suivi les recommandations particulires de la
socit. Les accessoires et les quipements fournis par la socit mais
fabriqus par un tiers seront protgs par la garantie obtenue du tiers
par Ingersoll Rand, garantie qui sera ensuite cde l'acheteur. La
socit ne sera en aucun cas tenue responsable des rparations,
remplacements ou rglages effectus l'quipement ou du cot de
main-d'uvre engag par l'acheteur ou par des tiers sans l'autorisation
crite pralable de la socit.
Les effets de la corrosion, de l'rosion et de l'usure normale sont
spcifiquement exclus. Les garanties de performance sont limites
celles spcifiquement cites dans la proposition de la socit. Sauf si sa
responsabilit dans le respect de ces garanties de performance se limite
aux tests spcifis, les obligations de la socit se limiteront alors
assurer un correctif de la manire et dans les dlais prciss ci-dessus.

7.3 SYSTME DE SPARATION D'HUMIDIT
Les purgeurs de condensats Ingersoll Rand dchargent l'eau et les
lubrifiants de condensation (condensats) des appareils air comprim.
Le purgeur de condensats fonctionne comme un drain sans perte d'air,
retournant l'air arriv dans la cuve de vidange vers le systme d'air
comprim. L'extraction constante de condensats des appareils air
comprim est essentielle pour assurer un fonctionnement et des
performances adquats.
Le purgeur de condensats utilise une mthode de dtection unique pour
dterminer le niveau de condensats dans la cuve de vidange. Un
transducteur situ l'intrieur de la cuve de vidange met
continuellement un signal 50 fois par seconde. Lorsque le transducteur
a dtermin que le niveau de condensats a atteint un niveau
prdtermin l'intrieur de la cuve de vidange, un signal est envoy
la soupape de vidange sans perte pour qu'elle s'ouvre. Ceci permet
l'extraction des condensats un maximum de 80 gallons par heure.
Le purgeur dispose galement d'un bouton-test permettant de faire
fonctionner manuellement la soupape de vidange sans perte.
L'enfoncement du bouton-test fait allumer le voyant DEL et actionne
l'lectrovalve. Le voyant DEL s'allume pour indiquer la MISE SOUS
TENSION et s'teint lorsque la soupape de vidange sans perte est
actionne par le transducteur ou le bouton-test manuel.

Fait basculer le scheur du mode de fonctionnement En ligne vers le
mode Hors ligne ; met la pompe glycol sous tension. Veuillez noter que
la mise en route du systme frigorifique dpend de la temprature.
EXCH SET (POINT DE CONSIGNE D'CHANGEUR)
Lorsque ce bouton est enfonc, le point de consigne de l'changeur en cours
est affich dans la fentre CL. Avec le point de consigne de l'changeur
affich, les flches haut et bas peuvent tre utilises pour augmenter ou
rduire la temprature de point de consigne de l'changeur.
ALARM RESET (RINITIALISATION D'ALARME)
Appuyez une fois sur ce bouton pour effacer l'indication d'alarme locale et
mettre hors tension le contact d'alarme distance. Si le problme ayant
dclench l'alarme persiste, celle-ci se redclenchera une fois le dlai
d'inhibition d'alarme coul.
% SAVINGS (% D'CONOMIE)
Appuyez une fois sur ce bouton pour modifier l'affichage CL et indiquer le
rapport entre le temps d'exploitation du systme frigorifique et le temps
d'exploitation total du scheur.

Fait basculer les indicateurs de temprature de voyant DEL des units de
mesure Fahrenheit vers les Celsius et inversement.
+/Permettent l'utilisateur de modifier les valeurs des points de consigne. Les
valeurs de point de consigne suivent un gamme de valeurs pralablement fixes.

2.0 INTRODUO
O de ar refrigerado intermitente Nirvana da Ingersoll Rand remove
umidade, vapor de leo e outros contaminantes de ar comprimido.
Esses contaminantes so prejudiciais a aparelhos, controles,
instrumentos, mquinas e ferramentas operadas pneumaticamente. Tal
remoo feita atravs do resfriamento do ar com uma unidade de
refrigerao at uma temperatura na qual a umidade presente no ar

A empresa garante que o seguinte equipamento fabricado e entregue
sob as condies aqui estabelecidas est livre de defeitos decorrentes
de materiais e fabricao por um perodo de doze meses a partir da
data de entrada do equipamento em operao ou dezoito meses a partir
da data de remessa da fbrica, o que ocorrer antes. O comprador est
obrigado a prontamente informar empresa, por escrito, qualquer falha
coberta por esta garantia dentro do perodo supracitado. Mediante o
recebimento de tal informao, a companhia poder optar, a seu
exclusivo critrio, por corrigir este problema atravs de reparos
adequados ao equipamento ou fornecer peas de reposio, F.O.B. no
ponto de embarque, desde que o comprador tenha armazenado,
instalado, mantido e operado o equipamento de acordo com as prticas
industriais apropriadas e tenha seguido as recomendaes especficas
da empresa. Acessrios ou equipamentos fornecidos pela empresa,
mas fabricados por terceiros, sero cobertos por qualquer garantia que
os respectivos fabricantes tenham cedido empresa e que possa ser
passada ao comprador. A empresa no se responsabiliza por quaisquer
reparos, substituies ou ajustes feitos ao equipamento, bem como por
quaisquer custos de mo-de-obra incorridos pelo comprador ou
terceiros, realizados e/ou incorridos sem aprovao prvia por escrito
da empresa.
Os efeitos decorrentes da corroso, eroso e uso e desgaste normal
so explicitamente excludos. As garantias de desempenho esto

7.3 SISTEMA DE REMOO DE UMIDADE
O dreno de condensado da Ingersoll Rand descarrega umidade e
lubrificantes condensados (o condensado) do equipamento de ar
comprimido. O dreno de condensado opera como um dreno de perda
de ar zero, devolvendo o ar deslocado na bacia de drenagem de volta
ao sistema de ar comprimido. A descarga regular do condensado do
equipamento de ar comprimido essencial para o desempenho e
operao apropriados do equipamento.
O dreno de condensado usa um mtodo de deteco nico para
determinar o nvel de condensado na bacia de drenagem. Um
transdutor localizado na bacia de drenagem envia continuamente um
sinal, 50 vezes por segundo. Quando transdutor determinar que o nvel
de condensado atingiu um nvel predeterminado dentro da bacia de
drenagem, enviado um sinal para abrir a vlvula de drenagem sem
perda. Esta operao permite a remoo de at 80 gales de
condensado por hora.
O dreno tambm conta com um boto de teste, que permite a operao
manual da vlvula de drenagem sem perda. Pressionar o boto ilumina
o LED e energiza a vlvula solenide. O LED acende para indicar
"LIGADO" e apaga quando a vlvula de drenagem sem perda
operada pelo transdutor ou pelo boto de teste manual.

Alterna a operao do secador entre os status "on-line" e "off-line". Energiza
a bomba de glicol. Observe que o sistema de refrigerao ir operar com
base na temperatura.
EXCH SET (AJUSTE DO TROCADOR DE CALOR)
Quando pressionado, exibe o ponto de controle atual do trocador de calor na
tela de LCD. Enquanto o ponto de controle do secador exibido, as setas
para cima e para baixo podem ser usadas para aumentar e diminuir,
respectivamente, a temperatura de ponto de controle do trocador de calor.
ALARM RESET (REINICIALIZAO DE ALARME)
Pressionar uma vez libera a indicao de alarme local e desenergiza o
contato de alarme remoto. Caso a condio de alarme persista, o alarme
retornar aps o tempo de inibio do alarme ter decorrido.

Pressionar uma vez muda o mostrador LCD para que ele indique a proporo
entre o tempo total de funcionamento do sistema de refrigerao em relao
ao tempo total em que o secador esteve ligado.
