Eva Papazova
Institute of Psychology - BAS
Schwartz's Value types:

Hedonism, Achievement, Self-

direction, Power, Stimulation,
Benevolence, Security, Conformity,
Tradition and Universalism
Type preferences according to
Jung, Myers and Briggs

Introversion (I) – Extraversion (E)

Sensing (S) – Intuition (N)

Perceiving (P) – Judging (J)
Aim of the study: To trace the relation
“psychological type – values” with Bulgarian
students
Hypothesis :
1. All psychological types range values at specific
and unique way, which is consistent with type
characteristics
2. Most of the psychological types put on the first
place the value type benevolence
3. There aren’t two types who range the values on
identical way
4. Most types unite around the least appealing
values – stimulation, tradition and power
Sample and research methods

 The sample consists of 194 youngsters,

between 19 and 27 years old, all students
from different universities in Sofia,
Bulgaria; 74 are man and 120 are female
 The questionnaires are MBTI – form “G”
and Schwartz Value questionnaire (both

Commitment of values to psychological types

Benevolence - ISFJ and ENFJ

Stimulation - ЕSTP, ENFP and ENTP
Tradition - ISFJ
Main conclusions:
 Psychological type and basic individual values are to
a great extent mutually dependent
 The value hierarchy of each type is consistent with
it’s type characteristic
 Each type has it’s own value hierarchy
 The differences, concerning value hierarchy of
psychological types are statistically significant at
three of ten value types – benevolence, stimulation
and tradition.
 On the first place the studied sample put value type
self-direction, and on the last place– power.
Thank you for your
attention!
