Two booster circuits in one unit! The first circuit contains one Boost
pot to set the gain level of the circuit, while the 2nd circuit contains a
Boost pot for gain levels, and a Level pot to control the output level
of the circuit. The unit has two foot switches for separate control of
the two circuits. The pedal uses True Bypass technology, meaning that even when switched off the pedal perfectly maintains the
original tone of the instrument. Since each circuit is capable of a 20
dB boost, care should be taken when using both boosters together,
as damage can be caused to amplifiers by the extreme signal.
The heart of the unit is a BS170 MOS-FET transistor. The inputs are
high impedance, meaning that there is no ill effect on the dynamics
or the sound quality of the signal from the pickup. The circuits react
very dynamically to every nuance of sound.
The Boost pots set on minimum boost the signal by 0 dB, set on
maximum, they boost by 20 dB each. Since they can be used in
parallel, and not just separately, combinations of the 2 boosts and
the master level settings provide opportunities for fuzz and overdrive sounds, giving a truly versatile pedal!
The pedal runs on DC 9 V, via either battery or filtered adapter. The
DC plug is Boss standard (2.1 mm, negative centre). The pedal is
suitable for use with guitar and bass. It can be used as a booster, or
even as a preamp.
The Boost function offers many opportunities and settings. If using
the pedal as a Driver, the Level pot should first be set to 0, and
slowly raised, to avoid damage to other units.
The Booster can be used anywhere in your effects chain. If you
wish to raise solo volumes, then it is best placed at the end of the
chain, however if you wish to fatten up our existing distorted sound,
it should be placed before the distortion unit. If you are using an
amplifiers drive channel, then the booster can be incorporated into
the effects loop.
Do not operate or store the unit in locations, where it is
exposed to precipitation, high humidity, pollution, or strong
vibrations. Indoor use only!
Never try to dismantle or repair the unit by yourself in case it
doesnt work.
Never operate the device with a supply voltage other that
stated here. Otherwise the unit will be damaged.
Never use solvents like alcohol etc. for cleaning the unit.
