In 2005 the Max Ernst Museum was opened as


the worlds first and only museum dedicated to
the outstanding artist Max Ernst (Brhl 18911976 Paris) and his extensive uvre works.
For the first time the work of the great Dadaist
and Surrealist can be seen in a collection at his
birthplace. The main areas of the collection are
formed by the virtually complete graphic and plastic uvre and the socalled D-paintings gifts to the artist and wife Dorothea Tanning.
