With globalization of world economy national boundaries are being erased / redefined in today's world. People living in its member nation can easily move from one country to another seeking job and better carrier opportunities. Many developed countries like us, UK, Australia are attracting young brains from all over the world and enriching their human resources. But for country like Nepal, the number could be very significant in terms of total youth population living there.

1) With Reference to LDC report 2012 by UNCTAD (Attached in VC)
what information can be synthesized for the issues related with Remittances in LDCs? 2) With globalization of world economy, liberalization of trade, and facilitation for easy mobility of labor and capital national boundaries are being erased/redefined in todays world. If we consider the case of Europe Union, people living in its member nation can easily move from one country to another seeking job and better carrier opportunities. Mobility of labor (skilled & unskilled) has been very common in recent time in our part of world as well, but unlike Europe the nature of mobility seems to be very different. Elaborate your thoughts on it. How can we define and differentiate each of these labor mobilitys? 3) Prativas sister Pratima has recently received scholarship from one of the prestigious University in US for MBA studies and she is very excited to go there. After she finishes her studies, she wishers to find a good job and try to get settle down over there. Like Pratima, most of the youths from LDC have similar dream and are looking forward for similar opportunities. Many developed countries like US, UK, Australia are attracting young brains from all over the world and enriching their human resources. This is usually done in the name of scholarships, opportunity to get residency permit, and many other opportunities. For countries like India and China (given the size of youth population in these countries), this might not be a major problem because at the end of the day total youth living the country would tern out to be insignificant in terms of total youth population living there. But for country like Nepal, the number could be very significant. Since India an China are growing economy, these countries are providing good carrier opportunities for youths soin many cases we have seen students returning back to their home country after their studies. However, in Nepal opportunities are limited and we often hear from our friends who went to study abroad, willing to stay back in the foreign country even though they have to struggle hard to find a decent job. Most of them engage themselves in low skilled, low paid job hoping for better future in foreign land but hesitate to come back. Prativa being a very optimist person strongly believes the fact that nation like ours can only prosper if youth of the country is
able to take the responsibility in giving new direction to Political,
economic and socio-cultural settings of our country. On one hand she is happy for her sister going abroad for studies but on the other hand she is equally upset thinking about the fact that her sister will probably never come back and our nation will lose one more productive and efficient youth. What is your analysis of this case? How do you consider migration of Nepali youth to developed countries? Is it opportunity or threat for the country? (Support your arguments based on youth responsibility vs. opportunities). 4) Based on question 3, do you think nation like ours will progress if all the youth gone abroad will come back? Or do you think our nation cannot afford to have them here because there is not much opportunity available?
