in a typical sex abuse case is: (1) a complaint is made to police or CPS, (2) an investigation is undertaken and the complainant is
interviewed, (3) police or CPS may try to speak with a defendant, and (4) police decide whether to file charges.

So what is the evidence if it is just the complainants word against the suspect? Under Texas law, the complainants word IS the evidence.

In other words,
her claiming abuse, and testifying at trial, is the evidence for the prosecution. There does not have to be any physical
evidence, corroboration, or anything else like that. The complainants word alone is enough to convict the defendant.

For child pornography cases, the typical steps are: (1) police pose as users on download/upload/file sharing sites, (2) police upload files
from the suspect, (3) police obtain that suspects IP address and identification information, and (4) police obtain a warrant for that
suspects home to seize his computer and anything else that could contain incriminating evidence.
Many defendants do not realize that child sex cases require specialized legal experience and training. These cases have their own unique
aspects, from bond conditions through what evidence is admissible at trial. You do not want to hire some DWI lawyer or a general
practitioner who has not real experience handling these cases.
What is experience? It means the lawyer has not just handled, but actually tried at least several sex offenses. Lawyers who have tried these
cases know juries consider them worse than murder. And lawyers understand what kind of evidence juries want to return an acquittal.
