Review of recent energy conversion technologies

Fossil fuels use environmental and social factors
Coal chemistry, conversion and combustion
Low rank coal and co-combustion systems.
Fluidized bed and pulverised coal combustion units
Future oxy-fuel technologies and IGCC systems
Chemical looping combustion (CLC) technologies
Polygeneration and synthetic fuels production
Clean coal environmental and economic aspects

Project classes

1. Thermodynamic and process analysis of the coal-based CHP power-plant unit

2. Modeling of oxy-combustion system and membrane separation processes
3. Effectiveness and costs of the selected carbon capture technologies

Method of calculating the final grade

The grade from a project (P) and examination (E) is calculated as follows: percent of points obtained is
recalculated to grade according to rules of studies at AGH
Final grade (OK) is calculated as weighted average of:
OK = 0.5 w (E+P)
W = 1 for first evaluation deadline and 1st retake and w =0.9 for 2nd retake.
