MPa.
Remark

The latest

The design working pressure of air reservoir shall be 2.45 MPa or 2.94

The design working pressure signifies the maximum working pressure at the maximum design
temperature (maximum working temperature) designed by manufacturers.

4.
Construction, shape and dimensions
The construction, shape and dimensions of air reservoirs shall
be as shown in Figs. 1 to 9, and shall conform to the following requirements.
a)
The body shall be of arc welded construction using steel plates for shell plates and end plates, and arc
welding shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements specified in the applicable Rules.
b)
The installation procedure of valves shall be either the valve header system or independent installation
system. The valve header system shall, as a rule, conform to the requirements of 1) and 2), and the
independent system, to the requirements of 3).
1)
For the nominal capacity of 60 - 600, the header seat shall be of Type A, B or C shown in Fig. 9,
and shall be located at a or b in Fig. 6.
2)
For the nominal capacity of 700 2 000, the header seat shall be of Type B or C shown in Fig. 9,
and shall be located at a or b shown in Fig. 7.

1. The total length (L) shall, as a rule, be as given in this Table, however, it may be changed in an unavoidable
case where space for installation is restricted or the like, the suitable one of those specified in this standard
may be used, and the total length may be changed as appropriate.
2. The values of calculated mass in this Table represent the sum of the mass of shell plate and end plates only.
Calculations were made for air reservoirs with design pressure at 2.94 MPa.
3. The edge preparations for welded shell joints shall be V-groove or X-groove.
4. The plate thickness was calculated on condition that no radiographic inspection is carried out.
5. The valve header seats to be fitted at a or b shall have dimensions A for the nominal capacity of 60 150, A or B for the nominal capacity of 200 - 300, and B or C for the nominal capacity of 350 - 600 (see
Attached Fig. 9 for dimensions A, B and C).
