2.1
Conductor
The 2500 mm2 copper conductor is designed in full accordance with Class
2 from the International Electrotechnical Commission Standard IEC 228.
The shape is round, segmented, stranded and the wires are made of high
conductivity copper. The conductor is longitudinal water sealed.
2.2
Conductor screen
The conductor screen consist of an extruded layer of semi-conducting
XLPE with a nominal thickness of 2,0 mm. A semi-conducting tape is
applied to the conductor under the extruded layer.
2.3
Insulation
The insulation is cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and comply with the
requirement of Table IV of IEC 60840.
The nominal thickness of the insulation is 23,0 mm.
2.4
Insulation screen
The insulation screen consist of an extruded layer of semi-conducting
XLPE with a nominal thickness of 1,2 mm.
2.5
2.6
Metallic screen
The metallic screen is designed to enable an earth-fault-current of 40 kA
for 1 second.
80-pieces copper-wires with 2,0 mm diameter are helical applied.
The metallic screen has a cross-section of 250 mm2.

2.8
Inner sheath
The inner sheath is made of HDPE (Polyethylene) that applied over
the Al-laminate.
2.9
Armour
The armour of the cable consists of two layers of aluminium tapes with a
thickness of 0,5 mm of each tape.
2.10
Outer cover
The outer sheath of HDPE (Polyethylene) is applied over the armour.
An HDPE-sheath is hard, which gives a good mechanical protection.
Using HDPE is particularly good from the environmental point of
view. The color is black.
Conductive layer:
The surface of the outer sheath is provided with a thin conductive
layer, which is simultaneously extruded with, and thus strongly
bonded to, the non-conductive underlying jacket. Together with
removable links of the link-boxes, the conductive layer facilitates the
testing of the non-metallic outer sheath. This is useful to ensure the
physical integrity of the cable in the after installation test and/or
periodically thereafter
