ART and GLOBALIZATION


Globalization is the process of international integration arising from the interchange of world views, products,
ideas and other aspects of culture.
1. African masks inspired Pablo Picasso in some of his paintings.
Pablo Picasso- was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, stage designer, poet and
playwright who spent most of his adult life in France.
2. Tahitian environment brought to life the paintings of Paul Gauguin.
3. The Spanish baile had influenced our own Pandango here in the Philippines and the Danza of
Mexico.
4. The Eth- Noh-Tec, an Asian-American company, uses music, movement,and words influenced by
Chinese opera and the Japanese kyogen.
5. Soul music is influenced by African music.
ART and THE ENVIRONMENT
The environment is the source of inspiration for artists.
Art serves as an answer to the problem we have brought to the environment
1. We have to help conserve our resources, learn to reuse recycle materials.
2. Artists use junk materials to make sculptures into what is known as junk art.
3. Discarded materials are cleaned, reshaped, or remade to suit the kind of art that is
going to be created.
SCHOOL SPORTS
DIFFERENT LEVELS OF SCHOOL SPORTS
1. District Athletic Meet
- The different schools within the district compete.
- It usually held before the month of October of each year.
- Serves as a process of selection of the best athletes and best teams who will compete
in the division athletic meet.
2. Division Athletic Meet
- Districts are duty- bound to participate in the division athletic meet.
- Every district play against each other represented by their chosen best athletes and
teams.
3. City Athletic Meet
- Is a dual meet where champions of the public schools and of the private schools
compete.
- Paul Gauguin.
4. Provincial Athletic Meet
- In the provinces, what is done in the city athletic meet is likewise held.

The public schools and the private schools hold a dual athletic meet to select the
athletes who will represent the province in the regional athletic meet.
5. Regional Athletic Meet
- Is held with contingents coming from all the school divisions within the region
participating.
- The region aims to select the best players from all these divisions to form the
contingent to the Palarong Pambansa or the National Athletic Meet.
6. National Athletic Meet or the Palarong Pambansa
- Held annually
- Every region in the country sends its delegation to this grand affair.
- It is in the Palaro that the best players in the country at the school level are identified
and given recognition.
- From this group of the most outstanding athletes, the National Sports Association
invites some to undergo try outs, and if selected, are taken in as national athletes and
are trained for international competitions.
DRUG EDUCATION- NARCOTICS
NARCOTICS are called hard drugs. These are depressants which cause serious effects on the
central nervous system of a person.
The careless use of narcotics could lead to:

COMMON NARCOTICS
1. Opium- is drawn from a kind of plant called opium poppy that thrives in a hot climate with
little rain. It is popular known as panocha, gum, sleep or death, gamut and kalamay.
2. Morphine- is a fine white feathery powder made from opium. It contains an alkaloid
compound of opium that relieves pain.
3. Codeine- is a derivative of morphine. It is commonly available in cough preparation.
4. Heroin- is the most addictive morphine derivative. It is three to five times more powerful
than morphine. Addiction to heroin can be developed within 14 days of continued drug use
that leads to serious illness, even death.

IT WILL LEAD A PERSON TO COMMIT HENIOUS ACTS
TO THE COMMUNITY, THE EFFECTS ARE HIGH INCIDENCE OF CRIME, LIKE ROBBERY,
THREAT, HOLD-UP, CHILD AND WOMEN ABUSE, AND EVEN MURDER.
