Applications: Typical applications for A633 Grade E include utility pole base plates, offshore oil
and gas platforms, construction equipment frames, electric shovel dipper handles and
suspension components.
Dimensions: The following A633 Grade E plate sizes are available:
Thickness: 0.375 - 2.00 (9.5 mm 50.1 mm)
Width: 72 - 120 (1,829mm - 3,048 mm)
Length: 240 - 600 (6.10m 15.24 m)

Charpy V-Notch Impact Toughness requirements are not included in the basic specification,
but may be ordered as a supplementary requirement. A minimum Charpy V-notch impact
energy value of 25 ft-lbs [34 J] at -40F [-40C] in longitudinal specimens is a typical
supplemental impact toughness requirement. Please inquire for applications requiring a
specified minimum impact toughness.

Tolerances
Thickness, width, and length tolerances for A633 Grade E steel plate are in accordance with the
requirements of ASTM A6. The flatness tolerance for as supplied product is ASTM A6.

Formability: A633 Grade E material exhibits excellent cold forming characteristics. Shear burrs
and heat-affected zones of thermal cut edges on or near the bend axis as well as sharp corners
on edges and on gas cut or punched holes located on or adjacent to the bend axis should be
removed by grinding prior cold forming. The following recommended minimum inside bend
radius, R, and die width opening, W, as a function of bending orientation are provided:
