GAUGE:
Exact gauge is not essential to this project.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
sc2tog (sc decrease) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and
draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.
NOTES:
1) Work Arms and Legs in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed.
2) To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and
draw through all loops on hook to complete st.

BODY (make 2)
With A, ch 21.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across - 20 sc.
Rows 2-4: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in each sc across - 17 sc.
Rows 5 and 6: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.
Rows 7-10: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in each sc across - 13 sc.
Rows 11 and 12: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across; change to B in last st of last row.
Rows 13-16: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in each sc across; change to C in last st of last row - 9 sc.
Rows 17 and 18: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.
Rows 19-22: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in each sc across - 5 sc.
Rows 23 and 24: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.
Rows 25-27: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in each sc across - 2 sc.
Row 28: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog - 1 sc.
Fasten off.
BEARD
With D, ch 14.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across - 13 sc.
Rows 2-12: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in each sc across - 2 sc.
Row 13: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog - 1 sc.
Fasten off.
ARMS (make 2)
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch; place a marker to indicate beg of rnd; move marker as each rnd is
completed.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around - 12 sc.
Rnds 3-6: Sc in each sc around.
Fasten off.
LEGS (make 2)
With E, work same as Arms.
FINISHING
Sew Beard just below B section of one Body piece. Following package directions, attach safety eyes
above Beard. Hold Body pieces with wrong sides together. Working through both thicknesses, join
matching yarn with slip st and sc around all sides of Body (changing yarn color to match as needed),
working 2 sc in each corner. Before closing final edge, stuff Body. Stuff Arms and Legs and sew to
Body. Weave in ends.

Breakfast at Tiffany's Sleep Mask

Materials
Blue: worsted weight yarn (Red Heart Super Saver)
Gold: worsted weight yarn (Vanna's Choice)
Size F-5 (3.75mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle
Gauge: While gauge is somewhat important for this project, by the time you finish a gauge square, you
may as well have made the mask. Mask measures 6 inches across without the edging.
Finished Size: 6.75 inches across by 3 inches wide at narrowest point
Mask
With Blue, ch 23.
Row 1 (RS). Sc in 2nd ch from hook, dc in next ch, *sc in next ch, dc in next ch; rep from * across.22
st.
Row 2. Ch 3 (counts as dc); turn. Sc in first dc, dc in next sc, *sc in next dc, dc in next sc; rep from *
across, ending with a dc and sc in last sc. 24 sc.
Rows 3-8. Ch 3 (counts as dc); turn. Sc in first dc, *dc in next sc, sc in next dc; rep from * across.
Split for First Cheek
Row 9. Ch 3 (counts as dc); turn. Sc in first dc, (dc in next sc, sc in next dc) 4 times, dc2tog over next 2
st. Leave rem st un-worked.11 st.
Row 10. Ch 2; turn. *dc in next sc, sc in next dc; rep from * across. 10 st.
Row 11. Ch 1; turn. Sc in next dc, *dc in next sc, sc in next dc; rep from * across.
Row 12. Ch 1; turn. *Sc in next dc, dc in next sc; rep from * across to last 2 st. Sc2tog over last two st.
8 st.
Row 13. Rep row 12. 6 st.
Row 14. Ch 3 (counts as dc); turn. *Sc in next dc, dc in next sc; rep from * across. Finish off.

Second Cheek
With RS facing, join Blue with sl st in first unworked st in Row 8.
Row 9. Ch 1, sc in next unworked st, *dc in next sc, sc in next dc; rep from * across. 11 st.
Row 10. Ch 3 (counts as dc); turn. *Sc in next dc, dc in next sc; rep from * across, ending with a
dc2tog in last 2 st. 10 st.
Rows 11-14. Worked the same as for First Cheek.
Finish off.
Edging
Join Blue with sl st anywhere on edge of Mask.
Rnd 1. Ch 1. Sc evenly around. Join with sl st in first sc in rnd.
Change to Gold.
Rnd 2. Ch 1. Sc evenly around. On either side of Mask, work one tie as follows: ch 61, sc in second ch
from hook and ea rem ch, then continue with sc edging around mask.
Finish off.
Eyelid - make 2.
With Blue, ch 11.
Row 1. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, dc in next ch, *sc in next ch, dc in next ch; rep from * across. 10 st.
Rows 2-4.Ch 2; turn. *Dc in next sc, sc in next dc; rep from * across, ending with a sc2tog over last 2
st. 4 st.
Finish off.
Edging
Join Blue with sl st anywhere on edge of Eyelid. Ch 1; sc evenly around. Finish off.
Eyelashes
Join Gold in lower corner of Eyelid. *Ch 3, sl st in next sc, ch 3; rep from * across. Finish off.
Finishing
Sew Eyelids onto mask and embroider eyebrows in Gold. Weave in all ends. Block

Granny Square Earrings


If you're like us, after last week's Crocheting with Wire tutorial, you'll be itching to try out your first wire
project! Our Granny Square Earrings are the perfect beginner's project. It uses a pattern you probably
already know by heart--the traditional granny square--and is simply worked in a new medium. What could be
easier? Give it a go! I'll help you out if you get stuck.

Granny Square Earrings


Materials
28-gauge non-tarnish silver craft wire
Size F-5 (3.75mm) crochet hook
4 1/8-inch silver beads
2 freshwater pearls
2 silver earring hooks
Directions - Make 2.
Ch 6; join with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1. Ch 3, 2 dc in ring, ch 3, *3 dc in ring, ch 3; rep from * 2 times. Sl st in top of beg ch 3.
Rnd 2. Sl st in first 2 dc and first ch-3 sp, (ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in same ch-2 sp as sl st, *ch 1, (3 dc, ch
3, 3 dc) in next ch 3-sp; rep from * twice. Ch 1, join with sl st to top of beg ch 3.
Rnd 3. Sc in ea st around, working 1 sc in ea ch-1 sp and 3 sc in ea ch-3 sp. Finish off, leaving a 4-inch tail.
Finishing
Thread onto 4-inch tail the following: 1 silver bead, 1 freshwater pearl, 1 silver bead, 1 earring hook. After
the earring hook is threaded on, twist the wire around the base of the hook 3 times, then thread the wire
back through the silver beads and pearl. Trim excess wire.
Weave in beginning end of wire and trim excess.
