The following special functions are described in this note:
1. System settings - Activate restart 2. System settings - Transport 3. Subsequently activating an additional language for an industry extension. 4. Transferring special Customizing 1. System settings - Activate restart When you activate the Switch Framework, the system first changes the statuses of the switches. That is, after a runtime of only a few seconds, all switches belonging to the busines s functions are activated even though the dependent objects (for example, table appends) were no t yet activated. If the activation now terminates for any reason (dump, system shutdown...), you are not able to restart the job by choosing the activate button. This is due to the fact that at this po int, all settings of the Switch Frameworks are already included in the active version. Due to the restart, all active settings are copied to an inactive version. This inactive version is then activated. If the activation itself recognizes an error and therefore cancel s the job, the system displays a selection dialog box where you can choose between "continue" and "restart". Thes e options mean the following: Continue: The previous job was terminated after the activation of the dictionary objects because serious errors occurred. If you select "Continue", all steps after the dictionar y activation are executed. This option is useful only if you could eliminate the errors in the di ctionary in the meantime. Restart: The new job starts again right from the beginning, that is, prior to th e dictionary activation. This option is useful if you have corrected the problem by implement ing a source code correction and the problem will no longer occur when you repeat the activation. 2. System settings - Transport The system writes the entire settings, that is, all of the activated business fu nctions that are displayed in transaction SFW5, to a transport request. For this, you do not need to select any rows. You cannot transport only a part of the activated business functions. The transp ort request then contains an object with the text "Status tables Switch Framework client-independ ent" and the name "A". The data is imported into the target system as dictionary objects and then activated. Contrary to the manual activation of business functions in transaction SFW5, you do not have to set the system to "changeable" in this case. Effects on the target system You are not allowed to deactivate irreversible business functions. For this reas on, the import of system settings that would cause the deactivation of a business function is not performed.
Priority Recommendations / Additional Info
Category Consulting Therefore, the system settings remain the same in this case. You are also not allowed to deactivate reversible business functions in producti on systems. Same as in the case above, the import of system settings that would cause the deactivati on of reversible business functions is not performed and the system settings remain the same. In both cases, the system logs the fact that the import of the system setting wa s ignored in the Switch Framework log (messages SFW 017 or SFW 405). You can display the log in t ransaction SFW5 by using the function "Goto -> Switch Framework Logs". 3. Activating an additional language for an industry extension at a later stage. Extension.
