1 To search for Backup images on the tape media

bpimmedia queries the NetBackup image catalog and reports on the


NetBackup images.
To find backup image on a tape media from NetBackup catalog

2 To see the status of the tape media (Full/suspend/freeze/active/


for all the tape media under the master server
for a single media on a pirticular media server
To know the which media server belongs to that media
To list all the forzen or suspend or full etc tapes

3 To suspend/unsuspend and freeze/unfreeze tape media

4 To search for all the backup images on all media or by policy name
From specific date

backup images for a specific client


backup images for a specific policy
5 To see the Tape drive cleaning status
To run on each media server where tape drive is attached (if SSO, we need to
run only on SSO robot control host)
6 To see the Tape drive status (UP/Down/TLD/AVR/etc)
This command should not be used untill it is really required
7 To list the NetBackup clients

To see information about that policy
To change the storage unit for specfic policy
To check for total backup size, expire date, number of files

To check which medias has been used in a paticular dates
