What is Akvo RSR?

Akvo RSR gives each of your projects its own mini website
within a publicly searchable online database, offering both
an overview of your work and the chance to dive down to
specifics.
Each project site contains detailed information about
whats happening, where and why, as well as who the
funders are so the entire funding chain is visible. Project
updates from field teams keep everyone informed about the
latest developments and bring to life the work of those
involved. RSR automatically generates location maps in
Google Maps and enables direct donations to individual
projects via PayPal and iDEAL.

Who uses RSR?

RSR is used by over 1,800 organisations from small local
NGOs to national governments and international aid
agencies and applied throughout the world for better
programming and reporting in areas such as water,
sanitation, health, education and economic development.
Akvo RSR helps networks with lots of partners work better,
because its designed to help them stay informed, get
organised and scale. Everything gets shared automatically
via any number of websites, so everyone has the latest
information without any need for version controls or
endless circulation and republishing of thick paper reports.

Transparency, IATI and RSR

Akvo RSR gives you the option to link your project
information to the International Aid Transparency Initiative
(IATI) registry. This means you can fulfill transparency
obligations without the additional burden of inputting and
maintaining data in another system.

Akvo RSR runs on any modern web browser and, with

the Akvo RSR Up Android app, you can continue reporting
even when youre out of signal range. Updates are sent
automatically when a signal returns. Administrators and
users log into the system with a username and password
and anyone with modest office computer skills can
normally learn to use the system quickly.

Fits snugly into your existing

communications systems
There are a number of ways to knit RSR into your existing
internal and external communication and reporting tools:

In your website together we can very quickly customise

your RSR project webpages in your branding and colours
and embed them seamlessly into your own website
structure. Akvo Pages run on the Akvo RSR system but
people experience them as part of your own site.
In other websites your partners and funders can also
quickly and easily embed as much of this real-time information as they want into their own sites using Akvo widgets.
A new website we can build you a Wordpress website
with RSR plugins and widgets to give you all the
functionality of Akvo RSR in a stand-alone site.

In your own systems for organisations who want to

invest in their own customised interfaces and website
features, the Akvo RSR API allows you to automatically pull
data from RSR into your own online systems and display it
however you like.

The user experience

A simple user interface allows support and field staff to
enter project information and updates easily and directly
including photos, text and video using their smartphone,
tablet or computer.
