MAJOR J.

BRANDON MASANGCAY
Major J. Brandon Masangcay is the Wing Administration Officer, Arizona Wing, Civil Air Patrol. The Major
joined CAP in December, 2004 and assumed command of the Sky Harbor Composite Squadron 301 in
August, 2005. During his tenure at Sky Harbor, he took on the task as the Wingtips Editor-in-Chief as an
additional duty. In September, 2007, the Major transitioned to Group III as the Administration, Personnel
and Senior Programs Officer. He was appointed to the Wing position in March 2008. Major Masangcay
served as the 2007 A r i z o n a Wing Summer Encampment Commander at the Papago Military Reservation in
Phoenix.

Major Masangcay enlisted in the US Air Force in September 1981. After completing basic training, he was assigned Malcolm Grow USAF
Medical Center, Andrews AFB, Air Force District of Washington, DC, as a Medical Administrative Specialist.
His subsequent assignments include:

September 1988 to August 1991, 401st Tactical Fighter Wing Hospital, Torrejn de Ardor Air Base, Madrid, Spain

January 1991 to April 1991, 401st Tactical Fighter Wing (Provisional) Hospital, Operations Desert Shield / Desert Storm,

April 1991 to May 1992, 9th Medical Group, Beale Air Force Base, California - NCOIC, Patient Administration,
Major Masangcay transferred to the USAF Reserves in May, 1992, as an Individualized Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) assigned to HQ AFRES,
Denver, CO, as a Healthcare Management Support Supervisor. He served a special active duty assignment under the supervision of the
Reserve Advisor for the Sacramento Air Logistics Center, CA. Major Masangcay was placed on the Retried Reserve List in 1995 due to
medical reasons.
