Ensure all continuity test reports for cables installed are available and signed by the
concerned parties.
Approved drawings available
Power available.
All interfaces are connected and confirmed.
All third party system tested and ready for fire alarm testing.
All areas where the detectors installed are clean and free from dust or any works that emits
smoke and heat.

Ensure that all materials to be used and equipment to be installed should be

checked by the Project Engineer / Supervisor against equipment data sheet
and approved drawings.
The latest revision of the Approved shop Drawing should be available at the
installation area.
Project Engineer / Supervisor will ensure that safety requirements have been
complied with and are in place.
Project Engineer / Supervisor will orient and familiarize all the workers and
assistants involved in the installation regarding relevant approved drawings,
Test the fire protection systems in accordance with manufacturers
recommendations. Locate where accessible for servicing and replacement.

Loop & Network continuity will be completed along with contractor

engineers and readings will be noted in the format supplied by them.

FA Panel Assembly & Programming:

All incoming and outgoing loops will be identified and noted with tags.
Start up the FACP
Connect the PC to the FACP
After charging the FACP batteries will be connected and Software will be
down loaded to the master controller and other FACP in the network.
Start up loop recogonization & Device recogonization
After loop recogonization is cleared, and all the address are assigned by the
FACP to the field devices, start labelling of devices according to the
location of the devices.
Start assigning the equation of related devices
Upload the data to FACP.
FA System Commissioning

Device Testing

As each loop is completed and terminated into the control panel the
following tests will be carried out: - Activate random device by smoke
tester, blower or break glass key. As each device is operated the address at
the local FACP and in terminal unit will be checked and labelled on the test
sheets as correct. Where a combined detector /sounders are located the
operation of the sounder will happen when the device is tested.

3rd party interfaces will be tested by triggering the IFU from the panel and
checking that the contacts have changed state with a multimeter.

The results will be recorded on the test sheets

Cause & Effect Testing
Each Device will be tested and the type of activation will be at the
discretion of the witnessing parties.

A full set of Documentation will be provided along with as built with all loop devices shown
including their unique reference number designated panel/loop/device number.
