ROLE MANAGEMENT: Internal (editorial) and external
(Extranet & Intranet) access permissions and privileges to

USER INTERFACES: The Sitecore User Interface is created

external applications is automatically filtered and cleaned so
the resultant pages are fully xhtml 1.0 transitional and
accessible. The editor includes spell checking in nine
languages.
AGGREGATION: Content of all formats, images, PDFs, text,
XML, documents, RSS etc. can be aggregated from multiple
sources and databases. Content can be automatically repurposed or transformed according to flexible rules.
TAGGING: Content in Sitecore can be structured to adhere
to any metadata standard, e.g. Dublin Core, IAFA, USMARC or EPA, and classification schemes (taxonomies) can
be created for all content.
WORKFLOW: Workflow process can be managed using the
visual, customizable interface. Processes can include, for
example, email notification and interface with external
workflow systems such as Microsoft BizTalk. They can also
be simplified such that one-step publishing is possible for
certain editors or content.
LIBRARY SERVICES: Sitecore includes full check-out,
check-in, versioning and versioning control which enables
change-tracking, document comparison and roll-back.
Publishing and un-publishing dates also allow content
lifetime tracking and compliance to regulatory standards.

security and load-balancing purposes, both inside and
outside the DMZ across multiple servers.
OTHER FORMATS: Sitecore uses a layout engine that
allows content to be delivered to multiple different
device formats to mobiles, PDAs or even Braille
devices. Content can also be simply re-formatted for
print or PDF generation.
SYNDICATION: Content is stored in native XML
format so feeds from external sources can be
incorporated into both the editor and the website.
Content from your Site can also be syndicated easily in
RSS format by other sites.
