METHOD STATEMENT

QuickPlastTM 399
1. DESCRIPTION
QuickPlast is a top quality water-resistant polymer modified cementitious
plaster for application on brickwalls and blockwalls. Because of its water
retention and air-entraining properties it has improved workability and
consistency during application. The combined properties of water retentivity and
consistency make QuickPlast a better plaster for a more durable wall. QuickPlast
is suitable for both internal plastering and external rendering

2. SUBSTRATE EXAMINATION
Before carrying out plastering works ensure that: a. All surfaces must be clean, free from dust, oil or traces of foreign
materials. Protrusions such as wood peels and nails have to be removed
prior to plastering.

3. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
a. For brickwall plastering and rendering, wetting of substrate is to be done
on extremely dry substrate. Stagnant or frequent water flow on substrate
is to be avoided prior to the plastering application so as to avoid poor
adhesion of plaster on wet substrate.
b. On area of concrete surfaces, spatterdash mechanical key/textured key is
required for improving adhesion between the undercoat and substrate.

4. APPLICATION OF QuickPlast
a. Mix 1 portion of QuickPlast with 4 portions of graded sand (depending on
nature of sand) and mix thoroughly in a drum mixer with approximately
25 litres of tap water until a homogeneous paste is achieved. A mixing
time of minimum 3 minutes and maximum time of 10 minutes is
recommended for best consistency.
b. QuickPlast mortar is applied using a steel trowel. As good practice, a
maximum thickness of 13 mm per application is recommended. For
plaster more than 13 mm, it is recommended to have multiple applications.
c. The undercoat should act as textured key for the subsequent coat to
improve adhesion. The textured key can be done by using a wire
scratcher.
d. Successive coats should not be stronger than the previous coat or
background, and no thicker than the previous coat.
e. For best result, we recommend a drying time of 12 hours for each
underlying layer.
f. It is recommended that the final coat / top coat is to be applied 7 days after
application of QuickPlast undercoat.

METHOD STATEMENT
QuickSkimTM 388

1. DESCRIPTION
QuickSkimTM is a polymer modified cement-base topcoat for applications on
cement-rendered (QuickPlastTM) surfaces. It is specially designed to provide
better workability and adhesion with the addition of polymeric additives. It is
suitable for internal and external application. QuickSkim should not be applied on
painted surfaces.
2. SUBSTRATE EXAMINATION
For ease of application and better finishing, it is recommended to leave
QuickPlastTM undercoat for 7 days before the application of QuickSkim. Before
carrying out the skimming works ensure that: a. All surfaces must be clean, free from dust, oil or traces of foreign
materials.
b. Wetting of substrate is recommended if the substrate is too dry before the
application of QuickSkim.

3. APPLICATION OF QuickSkimTM

a. Mix 25kg of QuickSkim with approximately 8 - 9 litres of clean water

thoroughly with an electrical mixer for 3-5 minutes until the desired
homogeneous paste is achieved. Ensure that the mixture is free from
lumps before use.
b. Apply minimum thickness of 2mm QuickSkim on the plastered surface
with a steel trowel.
c. If necessary, a second layer can be applied, after approximately 30
minutes, to build up volume.
