The 9th edition of the conference focuses on Language and Communication in the digital era. We aim to
develop the exchange of ideas on the impact of new technologies on communication, to highlight the
evolution of humanities and social sciences in conjunction with technological innovation, or to see how
the language industry has adapted itself to the challenges of todays digitized world.

Conference format

Types of presentation: talk (20 minutes), workshop (60 minutes), panel discussion (2 hrs.)
Working languages: Romanian, English, French, or German

Publication
Selected papers will be published in the volume Professional Communication and Translation Studies
(peer-reviewed, indexed by EBSCO, Index Copernicus, CEEOL, and Fabula) or in the Scientific Bulletin of
Politehnica University of Timisoara, Transactions on Modern Languages (peer-reviewed, indexed by EBSCO,
CEEOL, and Fabula). Languages of publication: English, French or German.

Important dates
Abstract submission: extended deadline February 10, 2015
Notification of acceptance and first draft of the conference programme: February 25, 2015
Final draft of the conference programme: March 10, 2015
Paper submission deadline: May 1, 2015

Registration deadlines & conference fees*

Participants:

Early bird (20 December 2014 to 19 February 2015): 265 lei / 60 EUR

Regular (20 February 2015 to 27 March 2015): 300 lei / 70 EUR

Guests (participants other than speakers): 225 lei / 50 EUR
B.A. or M.A. students: 100 lei / 25 EUR
Additional papers: 100 lei / 25 EUR
*The fee covers the conference folder, the certificate of attendance, the refreshments during coffee breaks, the lunch and the
cocktail dinner on March 26 for one conference participant. If co-authors attend, each of them has to register. Participants are
kindly asked to cover all bank transfer costs.
Each participant may present no more than two papers at the conference. All authors who will have their papers published
will receive one free copy of the Proceedings. Additional copies will also be available for sale.

Participants are kindly asked to make their own arrangements. The conference page contains a Hotel
and Venue Map with many hotels within walking distance from the conference venue. Most prices
range between 40 and 100 / night / person.
