INPUT DEVICE
A device used to enter data, such as words and numbers, into a computer.
TYPES OF INPUT DEVICES

KEYBOARD - Looks like a typewriter. It has many buttons. The buttons on a


keyboard are called keys. You use the keyboard to type letters, numbers, and
symbols.
MOUSE - Allow you to control the movements of an on-screen pointer. When you
move the mouse, the mouse pointer also moves. You can use the mouse to tell the
computer what to do.
JOYSTICK - is often used in playing computers games. It allows you to control the
movements or direction of objects, such as a flying plane or a spaceship, on your
computer screen.
PROCESSING DEVICES - brain of the computer is the central processing unit or
CPU. It tells the computer what to do.

It is a device where you can save your work.
TYPES OF STORAGE DEVICES
HARD DISK-Is inside the CPU box. It can store huge amounts of data.
DISKETTE-Can store a limited amount of data. Because it is hardly, it can be used
in different computers. The diskette fits into a slot called a disk drive. Diskettes
are also called floppy disk.
Compact Disc-Holds more data than the floppy disk. It can store thousands of
laid- out pages of books. It can also store songs and movies. CDs are inserted into
CD drive.
